Iheard about the kotaku leaks and the fact that destiny 2 will be a new experience and we will be starting over. Please don't do this. Don't take our guardians away. There will be backlash from this. We've all spent so many endless hours leveling up. If anything let us at least take one of our characters to year 4/ destiny 2. Bungie I hope you are listening. There will be a large section of the community that will leave if we did all this work from vanilla to rise of iron for nothing. We want to continue the story with OUR guardians.

Here's a thought that would be balanced and make people think. What if Bungie only let us bring our currently equipped gear, from one character, into Destiny 2? Having the option of bringing our gear forward would be great and having to choose one item of each type would be agony.
-
If Bungie doesn't let me bring my characters to Destiny 2 I will have 2 leave for good!
-
Well if they don't let us take our characters and gear over then I'm just not buying Destiny 2. Simple as that. I'm not playing another game in my life that requires as much grind as Destiny has.
-
I would be pissed off if we had to get rid of our guardians. I put so much time into them. But I have to say if we get a better game than what vanilla destiny was and a better game overall then I am ok with starting over again. Hopefully we get something huge for continuing into destiny 2, after 2 years of what we have now.

Bump bump bump bump. I would hate to see my couple thousand hours of playtime go out the door. I've grown to love my characters and gear. It'd be really sad and unfortunate to see my progress become meaningless.

Dude destiny 2 it's not a dlc

Yes delete our work

11 AntwortenI keep seeing responses to this post about Destiny's slogan, "Become Legend." This is just a marketing phrase to get us hooked into this game guys. Become Legend hasn't meant anything since before the launch of TDB. This game lacks EXCLUSIVE gear, meaning that everyone's endeavor to get the best loot in the game ultimately means "Become Legend" means "Become like everyone else." If they wanted "Become Legend" to mean something, they would let us carry ALL our gear forward, ALL the time, just make gear obtained within a certain time period exclusive so that you are distinguished from other people/players. Someone once told me on these forums, I think it was KellyGreen2 (Great player and a nice guy, though we often have differing views), that we grow attached to our characters, not our gear. However, that response overlooks the fact that the legend of our character is the result of the deeds we have done during a certain time period, and the gear we have collected tells the tale of our legends. So why SHOULDN'T we have exclusive gear? It can change the way Destiny is marketed and how players play this game. Think about it this way. What is going to make you feel more like a walking legend? Getting to Y7 to find that you have identical gear to everyone else? Or getting to Y7 and having this interaction happen: Y7 Player: "WHOA! Fatebringer?! How can I get that?!" Y1 Player: "You can't. It was only available in Y1. Now let me tell you about my first Vault, when I got this baby (long tale about the legend of Kabr and the VoG, etc. etc. etc. ensues)." Y7 Player: "So I can't get one? :(" Y1 Player: "Unfortunately, no you cannot. But don't fret, guardian, you have only just begun to carve out your own legend. And as you do, you will earn your own worthy prizes!" IMO, THAT is what "Become Legend" should be. Not this stupid rat race to be the first to get the OP legendaries/exotics before they're nerfed for PVP reasons.

I have absolutely no attachment to my characters at all, just the gear they have. And when it's a new game, the gear I have now won't matter, so I absolutely disagree that "there will be backlash." I'm all for a completely new story with new characters from scratch. The stories in Destiny as they are now are really cool, but they don't flow together at all. Except for Taken King having to do with Dark Below, there are little to no connections. I want a story that flows together, not a series of side stories. I feel like I'm a new/different guardian in every DLC. I think Bungie is doing the right thing. Or at least that they have the right mindset going into Destiny 2.

New game means more space for more locations , classes and every thing , if we don't have that then we'll just keep getting dlcs
-
Its all about deleting your new gear and grinding again. Only the next one won't just be a grind for every exotic you already have and some reskins. It will be a whole new game.
-
If it's "work" you should try another game. This is PLAY, for fun.

Destiny needs to be taken out back and shot. It's time to put the old boy down, he's got the rabies.
-
Stop this idiocy.. Noone is taking away your guardian just because Kotaku wrote a contraversial article. Its what Kotaku is known for.

49 AntwortenConsidering this game was advertised by its developers at E3 2013 as "being able to keep a loot you get till the end" its surprising how little the fans care. You guys are totally ok with being lied to and manipulated by someone who doesnt care about you just your money.

3 AntwortenA small part of me wants them to deliver a whole new game. This time I won't make the mistake of purchasing it. If they go this then it's not a 10 year game. It's no different to any other game ever created.
-
If they do start fresh a good way to do it is import our current top guardian as a "legend" in which our story unfolds following In the footsteps of our past guardian. Continuing on there legacy and learning what we went through as the next adventure unfolds. Which would give a chance for us to get our old loot by maybe finding old caches or finding our guardians weapons and gear Hidden away. Just a decent though I came up with...

Bearbeitet von Dampfanator: 9/29/2016 1:32:05 AMI'm ready for a whole new adventure. Destiny was a wild ride but I think my guardians are ready to retire. What game don't you have to start over in when continuing the franchise anyways? If I see one more reskinned thing I'm going to throw up anyways. I hope they hire a whole new design team with all new ideas.

Bearbeitet von slayerserenity: 9/29/2016 1:02:46 AMBungie didn't really put work at their game In Destiny 1. If Destiny 2 is a fresh start then that's ok but we need more content, missions, story lines and answers our questions about the traveler, Exo stranger and how SIVA became evil. Cabal need to be explain. If Destiny 2 have less content and then add on small DLC just to continue the story with less missions that would be really stupid and bad on Bungie. Bungie charge a lot for less content and re-skin stuff. Bungie has the power to add more quests, bounties, missions story, new planets and new solar systems.

I think we should get an option to keep or reset each character for Destiny 2. However, i think if we could get all of Destiny 1's content in Destiny 2 and completely reset our characters would be the best option. It would allow us to play through everything on ONE disc. imagine 5 raids, 6 stories and 40 crucible maps all together and updated. It would be awesome!!! And of course you could keep your existing character and play through all of this at a high light level or start fresh. Let me know what you guardians think.
-
It's a new game. It should be a new experience. Maybe include gear designs or weapon designs exclusive to destiny one players but part of the fun for me is starting fresh and racing against others.
-
As long as I get to carry over some of my greatest emblems to show I did things in destiny I'm ok with a reset.
