Who thinks Icebreaker should come back?
Icebreaker was a great sniper rifle. It's design and unique perk gave it the kick it needed. I remember doing great things with icebreaker and I'd love to make more memories with this exotic weapon. What do you guys think? Should the glory of icebreaker be restored or should it be left behind?

5 AntwortenI agree with you whole 100% and heres why. As a day 1 guardian and icebreaker being my very first exotic i miss it dearly. It just sits in my vault all cocked at an angle asking me to use it again. Looking through most of these post it seems everyone who is against it seems to remember it in its pre-nerf, before dark below state. Bungie made that gun because every boss back then was a stand here shoot this boss. They had a ton of health we didnt have to do anything inorder to damage them and it seemed like every boss had a cheese spot whether it be behind the boxes on valius, up on top with the nexus, in the hall with phogoth, under the stairs with the archon priest, or in the window of the spekis strike. Those cheese spots are gone. You cant do them anymore and some of the others are not even worth playing because they are irrelevant. Destinys new boss encounters arent the same. If you stand in one spot your going to get melted, if you stay behind your going to get teleported, if you stay way back the encounter starts over again. Icebreaker would be perfect for the "hey the bosses sheild is down, 6 sniper shots to the face ohh seven, back to primary for ads. The pvp side is even worse for icebreaker, because as i said icebreaker was my first exotic so i try it out from time to time. every time you spawn it starts out with zero bullets where as with snipers you start with a full mag and a half and when you die you keep those bullets. It has a super long range scope and with the new flinch mechanic its useless. If thorn, universal remote, and ghorn can return then wtf is wrong with icebreaker, pocket infinity, and necrocasem.

Considering they nerfed icebreaker hard the same time they nerfed thorn and Jellyhorn and brought back both of those weapons icebreaker would be more than welcome back, considering that when they nerfed those weapons they also nerfed "white nail" making black spindle/hammer have a limited amount of ammo .

It used to be make doing the strike playlist fun. I don't know why thorn was brought back over the Icebreaker

Favourite gun to this day, would love to see it brought back. (And that nerf to be undone. That's the Bungie we know, needing for no reason)

2 AntwortenIcebreaker was a game breaker and pretty much encouraged people to cheese everything with it. Sitting up high on the nexus strike. Sitting on the ledge or under the stairs on the archon priest strike. Standing in the doorway and backroom during Phogoth. I'm glad it's gone and if anyone says that they didn't do this atleast once to do a nightfall they are lying... in the same bag as elemental primaries. Everyone running the same gear. Solar burn this week. Ok that's VoC and icebreaker. Arc? Fatebringer and thunderlord. void? Atheon's epilogue and truth. Without these weapons everyone is using new gear and bringing a bit of diversity back to the game. Don't understand why pocket infinity has been left behind though. It wasn't op and was fun to use.

Icebreaker was a crutch and broke the game content unfortunately, too many times LFG expected a Gjally/Icebreaker and it trivialised content such as Vault of Glass, ruining the experience of hard end game content.

But alas, we have [i]those[/i] people from PvP who would wail about it being OP or some such whatever and Bungie doesn't have the balls to deal with it. So us PvE guys are the ones to suffer since we don't complain about nerfs and things being too OP.
