Just came back to the game after a nice healthy break and wondered if the lack of elemental primaries is still a thing?
Then I had an idea - we have chromas, and now weapon ornaments; why not have a "Golden Age <insert element> weapon element" which could be used, much like an ornament, to activate an element on an exotic weapon. You could also change it if you had another weapon element.
Imagine a Hard Light with arc, like it should actually be.
Or a void Gjallarhorn
You get the idea.
I reckon this is probably too late in the lifespan of the game now but would have been a welcome addition, seeing as a lot of the exotic weapons are more or less bookends.
EDIT - I didn't, and don't want this thread to be seen as one of the weekly "give me my elemental primaries back" threads. I wanted to suggest something that would let us have them back, whilst giving us variety. Some suggestions are better than others, this one maybe not so much lol...

1 AntwortenI would like to see elemental customizations available for every legendary and exotic weapon (excluding Zhalo, Vex, etc. that already have elemental damage). That would REALLY open up the endgame content and add replayability. Imagine the grind to find 3 Imago Loops to have all 3 elements on them. That would take some time.
-
Yup, bring them back!!!!
-
I've literally seen this suggestion from plenty, including myself, for a good year now...
-
2 AntwortenI have a keystone with outlaw and firefly I don't need an element
-
Only Exotic primary weapons should have a burn like supercell maybe suros solar hardlight void.
-
3 AntwortenNa...... we're too pissed about Archons Forge

8 AntwortenYou have two types of players. Players who worked hard and got the elemental primaries when it was next to impossible... And people who never got them. The ones who have had elemental primaries will never forgive, and will never forget. The people who did not, are glad they're gone... Because they made them feel bad about them selves...

I've seen different forms of this idea posted hundreds of times, all with fantastic support from the community. I've just accepted that they aren't coming back.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von C1everMoniker: 9/27/2016 1:47:31 AMI'm okay with the variety available now, where as previously you needed raid gear or (eventually) IB gear to hit max. That said, I really don't see the point in grinding raids anymore, since the flip side of that variety is that the raid gear just doesn't stand out anymore. Give us elemental primaries from raids again, make that gear worth the trip.

3 AntwortenNo. It would make the weekly elemental burn modifiers inconsequential. Instead of keeping multiple weapons leveled up and ready to go, you'd only have to keep one, and swap it out each week.
-
Yes, still very upset about not having the right tool for the right job guns anymore.

4 AntwortenPre order destiny 2 to get the Iron Fatebringer. Too soon?
-
I agree, and change elemental type by equipping the preferred subclass, so if i want my ace of spades to do arc damage, i use blade dancer. Or solar id use gunslinger.
-
I miss my Vision of Confluence and Fang of Ir Yût from Year One. I wish we could have elemental Exotics like in the Beta.
Never forget Solar SUROS.
-
I moss elemental primaries a lot. That was when Destiny was at its highest point. They had everything right and slowly started making bad decisions.
-
2 AntwortenThere is no longer as many shielded enemies as there has always been. Now anything with a shield would require a secondary or heavy weapon to deal with. This has now made elemental weapons redundant. I have enjoyed the new weapons and RoI on the whole. (Raid completed 3 times over the opening weekend) 😁😁😁
-
I don't need no elemental primary. I have chaos dogma.
-
5 AntwortenNot mad but sad to see that we are stuck with only one primary burn weapon
-
I am. Mediocreeee!!!!!
-
5 AntwortenNope nope and nope. The game is easy enough as it is. No need to make it easier. They already made the raid dumb easy for new people. Wish raids were harder and take more efforr like VoG
-
That sounds too easy. Get three exotics of your choice and add one of each elemental damage. No thanks. I like being forced to take new approaches. Games are no fun when you resort to just one very specific play style.

Yep. I complained to my buddies all week while grinding heroic strikes. I love the burns being added but it's kinda stale running around with a zhalo the whole time.
-
I would like weapons that do elemental damage based on your subclass as a random roll on any weapon or quest to get an item to allow a primary to do elemental damage

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Corvo Attano: 9/27/2016 2:17:39 AMWe got solar burn and void burn, granted they are 170 but wait till small arms. Arc burn for zhalo supercell.

Don't care, never did.
