Are we still mad about elemental primaries?
Just came back to the game after a nice healthy break and wondered if the lack of elemental primaries is still a thing?
Then I had an idea - we have chromas, and now weapon ornaments; why not have a "Golden Age <insert element> weapon element" which could be used, much like an ornament, to activate an element on an exotic weapon. You could also change it if you had another weapon element.
Imagine a Hard Light with arc, like it should actually be.
Or a void Gjallarhorn
You get the idea.
I reckon this is probably too late in the lifespan of the game now but would have been a welcome addition, seeing as a lot of the exotic weapons are more or less bookends.
EDIT - I didn't, and don't want this thread to be seen as one of the weekly "give me my elemental primaries back" threads. I wanted to suggest something that would let us have them back, whilst giving us variety. Some suggestions are better than others, this one maybe not so much lol...

Better yet... Give all primary weapons elements. If the reason why they removed elemental primaries was because of the weapon selection bottle neck they supposedly caused adding elemental burn to all weapons would have solved the problem just as well. In fact it would have solved the problem better because it would have made the community happy. Sure, there would be the "elemental weapons are supposed to be special and now they aren't so I am pissy" crowd, but as a whole I am sure everyone would be happy to be able to use their favorite weapons to their fullest potential.

I wouldn't say mad more like disappointed. I'm actually not a fan of supecell, it feels wildly inaccurate even by auto Riegel standards. It would be nice if more exotic primaries and elemental burns to them. I like the idea of bring able to apply a burn to current legendaries.

i think they just need to add a void and a solar primary like they did with zhalo. Besides that, im good with where theyre at, they accomplished their goal of increasing weapon variety as opposed to making elemental primaries the only viable option

5 AntwortenI was fine with them removing elemental primaries and currently still am. I have enjoyed the huge variety in primary weapons I have used in all of Year 2, as opposed to simply swapping between Fatebringer, VoC and Word of Crota. That being said, the only time I wish I had other elemental primaries has been this last week. Grinding out arc heroic strikes this week has been bitter-sweet, because while it is fun leveling up and getting new drops, I felt forced to use my Supercell and I am not really a fan of auto-rifles but felt forced to use it. Especially since I kept getting drops for new guns I wanted to try but couldn't without handicapping myself and my team. But that was a unique circumstance because of the new expansion. In another week or so when I am not under-leveled and have a larger arsenal of various burn secondaries/heavies of high light, I'll be fine.

Any legendary should have it. Honestly, I'd like to see the old raid currencies used to give random burns per use on a weapon.

The hole thing is dumb to remove elements from guns I use less guns now than I ever did arc burn use the supercell if not mida and that's it

How about just take 2 more exotic primaries to join zhalo. Example: Zhalo - arc, hawkmoon - solar, bad juju - void Or something to that extent. Mayve give us two new exotic primaries?

1 AntwortenRight now, yes it's small arms and solar burn on Heroic playlist. We just got the Gjallarhorn back, imagine the mayhem that would be wrought with VoC and the Gjallarhorn. These strikes would be begging bungie for a nerf.

2 AntwortenMaybe, just maybe, if they gave us one void primary and one solar primary. The weapons could be exotic just like the zhalo. I think it would round things out nicely. However, I am really happy about the good rolls on weapons available to everybody. Even if they are reskins, sometimes I want to shoot something that looks different than a hung jury but functions similarly.

I personally see no reason to bring back legendary elemental primaries. Made the game far too easy.

One thing I honestly don't understand. If Bungie wanted no more elemental primaries then why does Zhalo have arc?

29 AntwortenNo primary elements is good. People use a variety of weapons on weeklies and nightfall now. In year one it was fatebringer, visions and in my case word of crota.

Yeah people need to realize Bungie thought of ways to keep the elemental, problem is the rest of the gear is trash as it is.

Nah, I'm not annoyed with legendary primaries with elements, I do think exotics should have them though, besides Zhalos

I don't know if mad is the right way to describe it. Confused is more accurate for me. I don't understand why primaries have no element. My melee, super, grenade, special and heavy all have elemental damage. Why are primaries the only thing without? Adding modifiers like match game and iron clad along with more variety in shield type through activities make elemental damage that much more appealing. Taking away what few elemental primaries we had doesn't make much sense. Why can't they all be elemental like special and heavy weapons and be as random as those when they drop?
