Does the lore feel kind of lacking this time around? I've read all the grimoire I've acquired from everything and I feel as if I haven't learned a whole lot more about SIVA then I already didn't know from what Bungie told us before Rise of Iron.
At least in TTK, after reading through the Books of Sorrow I got a ton of back story about the origins of the Hive and where Oryx came from etc.
With the SIVA clusters, they just seem short and convoluted (which I know most of the grimoire is) and I can't make head or tails of half the stuff.
Anyone else feel this way? Or maybe you know some grimoire cards I can go back and read to get a better understanding of things? The only grimoire cards I really enjoyed this time around were the crucible ones. Learning about Shaxxs Redjacks more and seeing what maps had associations with certain characters or events was pretty cool.
What do you guys think?
Edit: Wow this got a lot more attention than I thought thanks for all the feedback guys. After thinking it over for a couple of days I think I'm okay with the lore we got. Plus along the lines of none of the new grimoire hinting at future stuff, it seems to me a lot of cards seem to talk about Exos and frames quite a bit. Maybe the next big thing we will see is some Exo back story? I still have yet to read all the grimoire for stuff like the Iron Lords and even the final boss of the raid (I didn't look at them leaked online I wanted to earn them in game and then read them) so I feel things may feel more fleshed out for me once I get more of the Iron Lords cards. Just got Felwinters today and it was pretty amazing. Like I said thanks for all the replys guys and always stay hungry for lore Guardians.

2 AntwortenDestiny 2 was suppose to be out. The live team, which is four people, made the bulk of this content in a short time. Due to being an unplanned story portion, they had to pull this SIVA thing out of nowhere and connect it to Destiny 2. They did reuse content quite well, though. It feels quite different even though we are looking at the exact same stuff.
-
Don't worry, in destiny two they're getting rid of hunters, warlocks, and Titans- reskinning them to pass of as totally new, deleting your current guardian and starting "fresh" They make up the lore as they go so it doesn't matter anymore, all that matters is that you enjoy what you have right now. And hope Destiny 2 has deeper lore that somehow ties in with the current.

4 AntwortenYou learned something about Siva.
you learned it was called Siva
It might be that this expansion wasn't entirely planned from what I heard it was players interest in the iron lords that sparked this so maybe they just didn't have as much time to make it like that?
-
3 AntwortenMaybe they are doing the dark souls lore style lol
-
It did feel a little sheepish on new grim cards, but there are probably still things we haven't discovered. Also they may release a few more grim in the coming months as they did a few times in TTK.

7 AntwortenI just want to know what Rasputin really is

Bearbeitet von PatsterUSAF: 9/28/2016 5:08:51 PMThe entire lore of the story was written by an 18 year old barista who sipped too much of the coffee he was serving.

Who's to say the current destiny team working on this destiny won't bring out more answers before D2 is out? Maybe down the line we'll get more answers. Another April update thing and they might add some more grimiore...

Was it as much as TTK? No, it wasn't. But TTK was almost as much information as Vanilla. RoI filled a massive blind spot in the timeline that, while not as game changing as The Book of Sorrow, still gives a lot of information. The Iron Lords were almost a complete mystery until now. We knew very little about the Dark Ages until now despite the fact that's several centuries on the timeline. We're given more information of Rasputin. Fallen culture is fleshed out just a little bit more while also emphasizing how desperate they're getting. We're given a bit of information on Crytography. I'd say the thing that makes the lore most unique in RoI is that in answers more questions than it poses.

22 AntwortenI feel like SIVA in general doesn't have enough backstory. My one gripe with roi is that I don't feel scared by siva at all. As a guardian, we've been through atheon, crota, skolas, and oryx. SIVA doesn't really scare me. Also the raid bosses literally just come out of nowhere. They aren't talked about once during the campaign, to my knowledge. Maybe they focused too much on the lore of iron lords to create a deep and haunting backstory for siva. I liked the story of roi a lot but I just wasn't threatened by siva, or convinced that it really was as big a threat as they say it is.

16 AntwortenWHAT?! I've learned much. A warlock void shoulder charged a warlord. (Felwinter) Guardians used to be defenders and enslavers of humanity. Felwinter used to be a warlord. Ahamkara were around during the dark age. I've learned much about the iron lords and the times of the dark age, and a little more on guardian abilities.

47 AntwortenDlc sucks Raid sucks Give it 3 months and all the dick riders will start complaining about it

3 Antworten
bungie don't have time to explain why they don't have time to explain.
Unfortunately we don't know much about the Iron Lords or SIVA still.

1 AntwortenThey really rushed this expansion and it's really small
-
Maybe bungo wants to keep it shrouded in mystery

1 AntwortenI was hoping Siva was related to the vex through time travel, that humanity had created its own destruction. I had hoped that Rasputin was a raid boss. The Iron Lord's portion of the story was good, but the rest felt like a little bit of a let down... Certainly not bad at all however
-
2 AntwortenI find it that SIVA is more interesting than The Taken. :)
-
It all about siva because if you listen to the final mission saladin says raputin hasnt been a warmind for a very long time, so the lore is supposed to explore more about rasputin and how he ties in all this. Thats why in every dlc they have explored more and more about Rasputin.

1 AntwortenAs soon as I saw the new enemy I figured the folks at Bungie had been playing the Bioshock collection.

3 AntwortenIts you..

4 AntwortenConsume enhance replicate Anyways, I'm not sure what their is to make a lore out of. Siva is a Clovis Bray project made to aid colonization efforts. After the collapse, the iron lords found, released, and got got by the machines

2 AntwortenTaken king definitely had a bigger focus story wise. The books of sorrow gave us lots of valuable background on our enemy and also put oryx into a different context than how we viewed him before. The taken king had a larger focus whereas the rise of iron is primarily more about a piece of unknown guardian history and the quest to return humanity to glory and how it all turned upside down. I guess it is natural that we might have some disappointment, if that is the right word, because the lore does not give us any revelations concerning the overall story of destiny and it's future. I suppose there are exceptions. I have enjoyed the back and forth about dredgen yor being a hunter or that titan rezyl azzir (spelling?). Other than that, not as much good stuff as the taken king.

Bearbeitet von kn1ne: 9/26/2016 5:06:01 PMI really like the Iron Lords cards which mostly detail their founding and the fight against the Warlords. I particularly like Lord Felwinter.. now that's an Iron Lord I can relate to :) It definitely isn't as extensive as the Taken King and I can only hope part of that is that they want to avoid another year 2 incident and have more that will trickle out throughout the year.

They gave us the gist but nothing mind-blowing
