1. Offerings come in three varieties, but I believe you can only carry one at a time.
2. They appear to be nontransferable through the app (do any third party apps have ability to transfer them?) so if you have, say, a perfected offering but you're around 345 light, better stop what you're doing so you can Go vault it and hope to completely randomly get a more level appropriate offering.
3. It's totally random if you'll find people there. I've had some success running down to the warrens and coming back up, but that still just seems sloppy - why put it so far away from the spawn? If it's supposed to be public, spawn the patrol in the area.
4. Even if you do find people, once you've used up your offerings (never seen personally more than 3 others there) you're all done unless someone at random has gotten an offering that is of doable level or some rando magically happens to come along with an offering
5. Maybe just RNG but it seems like I get better drops of I get a shot in the boss, but if you happen to be trying to kill some of the puddly adds that still spawn in, or if you're reviving someone, very real chance teammate's with axes or gally rockets will have killed the boss before the done is half open leaving you out in the cold
6. Once again, bungie made an activity that could have been casual hectic fun for when a person has 3-4 friends online but absolutely no reliable way for them to actually play it together. And for the above limitations, probably not worth jumping through hoops trying to get two fire teams of friends together. At least in the court, you knew if you did finally get grouped together you could stomp baddies for as long as your heart contented (with the abundant stacks of tunes you could carry) not for 15 minutes until everyone used up their lone offering.
Sorry about the wall of text, but almost NOTHING about the way the forge was implemented remotely makes sense. Can anyone justify any of it?
Quick edit: this was mostly an exercise in slowing my own rage, but seems to have gotten some traction. Keep reading/commenting, maybe we can get a live look-in from Deej for some explanation

All about artificially extending the tiny content.

Bearbeitet von pixelmagic: 9/26/2016 12:53:40 PM100% agree. It's a huge shame, as it could be fantastic... for my mind it actually only needs a couple of solid changes to really make it a big success... I agree with everything you have said though. I'd let offerings stack on a character, even if its only just to 3 or 5. If its supposed to be a public event, then it needs to NOT have its own instance. It almost makes it a non public event. You shouldn't have to creep in and out to find others to play with inside it. If it is to keep its own instance, then why not separate the event and allow up to 6 man fireteams inside it, make it a sub selection on the director or something. When you get a crowd in there its great fun, its just too hard to find a crowd in there (especially when the highest levels really need it) and the offerings are so hard to find and limiting to carry it makes it a slog for a bounty rather than an enjoyable experience. A side note too, the loot does seem to be completely random. I got the sniper from a green, without even realising the boss had spawned and been destroyed by one guy with an axe who stood on top of the sphere as it opened, yet ive had one blue engram from the three perfected versions that I have run so far.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von nighthound22: 9/26/2016 9:16:36 AMWhile the concept of the forge is awesome and much better then court of oryx, it falls extremely short of expectation. Pending on you and your teams light level could mean a non completion. Perfected offerings are beatable with only 3, it can be very difficult if your under light. The ability to have a 6 man patrol makes this somewhat easier and more fun. Then there's the offerings. While it's great you can get one every time you play the forge or almost every time, the fact you can only carry 1 is lame. Court we could carry multiples and just play but now we are forced to only have 1 and if it's one that is a higher light and you can't beat you either have to go to a vault a store it which sucks because you gotta leave then come back and it takes up vault space. Or 2 use it and then if you can't beat it you lose the offering instead of getting it back like in the court. Lastly the rewards suck. I've gotten just about every mark possible and 1 gun but the drop rate is garbage. You may not even get anything. At least in the court you got to open a chest for rewards. There was a chance for a great way to spend time in patrol but instead of carrying things over from the court and improving on the concept, bungie just straight dropped the ball from the top of felwinters peak.

Number two of your complaints is being fixed. There was a duplication bug. I've also had little trouble completing the higher light level offerings even with a sub 150 level character. As for how far it is from the spawn point, quit your moaning. It only takes a couple of minutes to get there.

7 Antworten100 percent with you... and as for loot.... disappointed to say the least; such an excellent concept but falling short again! ... 6 man patrol.. sorted
-
1 AntwortenAnd just to repeat ad nauseum. The drops are crap so not worth it in the first place, unless you are low light.
-
5 AntwortenWhenever we do it we find a random single then make two party groups with 2 people in each. Then we invite two more friends so there is six of us. And then when we inevitablebly find another random we add him to the party then make a third fire team and add two more friends. We had 8-9 people grinding together yesterday. We did about 12 -360light offerings in probably around a hour(also some 320,340 lights ones too). It can be done but I definitely think this could be solved by being able to have a 6 man fire team in patrol.

If everyone dies during the event it will fail you after a couple of seconds of everyone spawning outside the door. So don't waste any keys trying to open the door back up if this happens.
-
It's not transferable through app because so -blam!-ing idiot posted a video about how to glitch them and max it so you can keep it by transferring it to your vault while using it. People can't be honest in even games and ruins it for everyone

4 AntwortenI want to add that the perfected bosses feel like you are cutting down a tree with a butter knife. I am over 370, it is recommended 360 and I barely do damage. What the actual fuuuuuuu?
-
I've getting some armour from the forge the helm, cape and legs I have on now are all from the forge but tbh there all from the green n Blues everytime I've done a perfected I've getting 2 blue engrams lol

I totally agree

Bearbeitet von Ersatz_Lord: 9/26/2016 10:21:02 AMThe problem is too many greedy players wanting to rush in and not wait and looking for carries. Just literally walk to the forge from The Warrens or Archons Keep. Leave and try again until you find a good room. You need to give the server time to find you a party otherwise you're likely going solo. I've been able to join or been invited by randoms who had their friends join on me. This has happened multiple times. I've had no problem completing the bounties for each toon either. My only gripe is the inconsistent drops and drop rates. Be social and not selfish.
-
I've never seen people there...but I also never see people in patrol. Like maybe 1/3 times I'm doing patrols I'll see another person.
-
3 AntwortenNot had a problem with it so far. Just take it slow into the forge and matchmaking will sort you out. Played a high and mid offering yesterday with no problems and I am in the mid 340s for light. The reason why you can't use an app to transfer the offering is due to a duplication glitch apparently. I would imagine Bungie is working on this.

I got a cool sniper from it its on my Titan

Bearbeitet von ARCHER444: 9/26/2016 8:41:49 AMWe got lucky yesterday and found a random that was kind enough to invite our friends to his fire team and left to make room for our 6th guy. It was a blast, but frustrating when my 2 legendary offerings didn't give me shit. WTF Bungie?!!!! (and YES- I did get some hits on the boss) I did get a ton of class items from other's offerings though. Out of about 12 runs only one weapon dropped (fusion) for one guy and a chest piece for another. Every one else got class items. When we ran out of offerings we would either switch to our toons that had an offering, or send one or two guys from each group (kept the 2 fire team leaders in the forge) to farm for one just outside of the forge.
-
1 AntwortenI went in there for the first time yesterday but couldn't start the machine thing. 3 others were there and they started one each so I tried again. It worked . I ended up starting it another 5 times a couple were Perfected (whatever that means) But between the 4 of us we started and finished 18 different rounds then I just left cos I was swimming in engrams . I though each person could only start 1 round per week ?? Or did I get that wrong because I definitely started 5 myself
-
It's worth noting that you couldn't use the vault to ship charged times between characters in Court of Oryx. One would assume Bungie's motive behind only being able to carry one is that these offerings no longer need charging like they did in CoO. It would mean you could rock up to the arena with 10 perfected diva offerings each and blast through them in half an hour and probably end up with a inventory and post master full of legendaries.
-
5 AntwortenI dont like the requirement about having to tag the boss to get a reward. I think if you did damage to any of the enemies , your golden.
-
It's very rare to see anyone there the whole phasing from the keep to the forge was a bad call you see randoms heading that and just vanish when you get there
-
11 AntwortenI got the new sniper, "but not forgotten " for doing nothing but killing the siva bushes on a green offering.
