I love this game...I really do...the new expansion is alot of fun so far, but couldn't there be some way, any way, to acknowledge veteran players who have already have these returning exotics ? I already have a gally, it dropped on a year one nightfall and on crota hard...but that was all rng so whatever...but the thorn ? I already did the dam thorn bounty, we'll below level 30...not only have I acquired both of these weapons, but I upgraded them and brought both up to not one, but two light CAPS...(year one, then HOW)...maybe we could of have them dropped at a slightly higher light level, or dismantling your old ones gave you a unique ornament...even some throw away dialogue would have been nice...something to acknowledge that many have already fought and grinded for these weapons
And just a real quick edit; deej and other bungie employees need to stop with the phrase "it's cool because you actually get to earn a gjallarhorn through a quest"...my original gally dropped after 500 hours played, numerous raid and nightfall completions, and countless dragon strikes, all without 3 of coins...and if I wanted to I could have finished the gally quest last night , on the first day it could be acquired...which method would you say was really an earned exotic ?

Remember when they said they wanted our gear to be like stories of when and where we got it blah blah blah? Well they want you to forget about it all. Except some of it. But it's not quite the same.
-
they need to stop handind us stuff and make us work for it again, screw the whining side of community "this is too hard, nerf" "drop rate too low, buff" "cant find material, make quartermaster sell" i miss the grind, i finished all there is to do in RoI in 3 days, thats too easy

3 AntwortenI've been in Destiny from day one. I am happy to see new players bringing new life to the community. And, I am also sick of seeing my friends leave. I don't want to be hand held and I don't want to get anything special for being in the game so long. That said, I am very tired of having them reset my grind all the time. Every update has basically made all gear that I previously had start back at the frustrating post story mode base. The point where it takes grinding the weekly in hopes of being able to grind the nightfall in hopes that I can finally play the raids and the iron banner in a meaningful way. Nearly my whole clan stopped showing up online after the house of wolves update because our gear was once more nerfed to oblivion. A few of us stuck around because we could finally re-use our old gear by imbuing it. And, then all but three of us bailed because the taken king wiped all our gear yet again and wouldn't let us use any weapons we had before. I understand controlling things like ghorn and other stuff until they can bring it into year two, but all of our purple faction bought gear? Was it really necessary to make me re-grind that? Just let the hundreds of hours I spent playing your game mean something. It won't give me an unfair advantage over new players because their gear still caps where mine does and bungie has dropped spot nerfs on OP stuff before. But, could it be a little easier to transition into a new expansion instead of zeroing us out to grind each time? Ghorn is just another example of them taking my old gear, making it worthless to their game and telling me to go grind the new shit for another 400+ hours. I like the new parts of your game. You don't have to tell me to grind to get me to explore the cool shit you've dreampt up. You don't need to make me grind this for gear I already spent time getting. IDK ya'll
-
1 AntwortenNah. Sorry snowflake, you're not special. I laughed 3 months in when I first saw these kind of posts. Treat me better than Christmas noobs, treat me better than taken tots... I'm a veteran. I laugh at you now.
-
3 AntwortenHow about no, everyone should be treated the same no matter when they started playing. Also I'm an alpha player and I don't deserve or want to be treated differently from someone who picks up the game tomorrow. Stop with the vet player entitlement it ruining this community.
-
34 Antwortenthey were also sold by Xur later multiple times
-
36 AntwortenI'm a military veteran and I find the use of the word associated with video games to be ridiculous.
-
1 AntwortenRNG = Luck Don't act like a man child wanting them to babyfeed you Exotics, the quest makes the exotic more closer to you. If you handled 500 hours of grinding, Im sure you can handle an hours worth.
-
9 AntwortenRNG is luck lol not earning. I got ghorn from xur n scrapped it for the Truth n I couldn't get another until Crota dropped. You talk about earning yet I completed Crota 500+ times before a single crux dropped, while ya I think an emblem would be cool I don't think us vets should get special treatment, I mean most of us have chatterwhite n glowhoo no newer players have that.
-
13 AntwortenRNG is not earning. It took me the week before TTK to get a gally drop. I've spent over 1200 hours in the game. I didn't earn it when it dropped, neither did you. Completing an actual quest with an end reward is earning it. BTW, been here since day 1.
-
1 AntwortenYou make it sound like you're a real army vet lol. It's a game ffs. All you calling yourself day one 'vets' are cringeworthy losers
-
1 AntwortenWell there are two Deej quotes that Rise of Iron undermines. First quote is the one about respecting our time spent. Here we are recollecting the same gear. The second is about it not being fun using the same gun years down the road. Here we are back to hunting down the same guns and pulling y2 guns forward.
-
1 AntwortenMy Gally dropped August of last year. You are probably thinking scrub right? Like I didn't try to get one through rng. Not earn one but get lucky. Go check my stats. You will not catch up to my raid wins or flawless runs by the end of next year. I watched the gally drop for noobs and it was disgusting disappointing. I watched people get multiple times that honestly didn't deserve it. The new quest is a great idea. No more rng. No more luck. Just go get it. As for Thorn. Well doing another exotic quest to get it when I can't just pull a schematic for year three is messed up. It wasn't a rng weapon. The origional exotic quests should've never been removed.
-
2 Antworten"Look at me, I've had (Video game) for longer than you! I'm a special little snowflake and I deserve special treatment!"
-
1 AntwortenI think veteran players don't need any special treatment. For those players who played the beta, we got an emblem and that's all you really need if you feel the need to show that you're a veteran player. If you've been around since year one, there's the year one Moments of Triumph emblem, same with year two. We're all part of just one big community, no need to categorize people in an over the top way. Honestly the emblems for beta, year one, and year two are the perfect touch.
-
So much bump
-
9 AntwortenMy biggest complaint is how quickly new players catch veteran players in light level.. grinder this game since beta.. was 335 light on 3 characters comin into this dlc.. now 350 light.. buddy of mine was 295 light comin into dlc.. has half my play time on dlc and is already 335 light.. by the end of the week he will be same light as me... just won't have all the weapons

Did you see the description for iron ghally? If you did, than you know Bungie already acknowledged us.
-
1 Antwortenlike I said on a few posts yesterday, why should Bungie care? You and many other day 1 players, and the other non-day 1 players that are still playing, have not only bought every piece of garbage bungie has released, but most people not only pre ordered digital content for one lousy in game item but did it MONTHS in advance knowing absolutely nothing about the content, and knowing how bungie has treated it's players in the past. (I know this is a bit of a run on sentence, but I just don't care) So again, why should they bother giving out extra rewards or something besides an emblem or shader to the day 1ers. The fanboys will buy anything destiny related, no matter if it's just 5 simple missions and reskins of armor, weapons, and enemies. Clearly the players have spoken with their wallets and they don't need to change their business practices. And probably more than half the current players will pre order Destiny 2 the day it is announced, heck, the day it's even put up on Amazon, with no footage, details, or anything. Heck, if I was bungie I might not even bother making Destiny 2 any different from Destiny, and just laugh as I rake in the money.
-
I agree rng felt way more exotic than this way just give so they don't be laughed at if they don't have it way.
-
1 AntwortenIt was roughly 400 some-odd hours before I got my Gjallarhorn. Now almost everyone and their dog has one. And this makes me genuinely happy, because I can only hope it stops all the bitching on the subject.
-
Not gonna lie I'm not happy with this either. I wasn't lucky enough to get gally in year 1 so I'm fine questing for it. Thorn however I'm pissed about. I unlocked this in year one, which for someone that isn't that great at PvP wasn't easy. So now I gotta wait around for a rng quest to get the weapon I already have. Thank you so much bungie

1 Antworteni'm a legacy player (vet seems rude since I didn't serve my country) and no i wasn't there for beta, wish i was but eh life. i have been here since day 1 and yes i have taken long breaks from destiny due to the fact i played a lot, like seriously my grimoire rank is 4060 and i'm still looking for those damned ghosts. ya some things have pissed me off that bungie is doing but i do NOT miss the days where everything we got was chance or when a purple engram turned into some POS green or blue. i was there for the loot cave, i didn't get the chance to shove Athion off the pillar but I did shove the Templar off the edge. hell i got my gally a month before it was nerfed, i didn't care i was happy that i was able to buy it from xur. i worked my ass off for it for nearly a year and almost broke down in relief that i had it at long last. i'm happy they brought it back, yes the quest is a pain but hey it's something else for me to do in the game. i have my old gaurd, ravensteel and emblem as a y1 player. its people bitching that ruin stuff for us older players and makes us attack other players with a vengance in PVP.
-
Established Players really need something. No more greens dropping during play and for FFS all should be ABOVE the highest light level gear you have. For the special snowflake feel exclusive OP Weapons and Gear, can only use of each like exotics. And its restricted only to those that participated Day F* One.
-
bump.. ..head office is building a game for new money, not quality game play.. ..try Supremacy, not much skilled pvp play there~Salvage was way better, but took strat and 1v1 skill, thusly alienating every new player.. ..You wanna wreck in Supremacy, stat yr striker or sunbreaker for full defense then equip an AR and a Shotty..fun stuff Bungie.. ..still not convinced that Bungie steers the game towards the bottom line?..watch TW's youtubes on ghost bullets and bloom.. ..
-
vet player are different.. they can tell new players about the stuff they will never be able to do. and the thing about ghorn the quest does not have to feel exotic but the weapon itself. i dont need to be a special snowflake to anyone. as every guardian is unique in their own way.
