With the newest update, I have now won the past 8 of 9 sniper encounters I have had in the Crucible (and WITHOUT using the Sorta Sniper Killer aka Mida). And those 9 encounters didn't include the times where the sniper actually RAN AWAY! Gone are the days of the frontline sniper tank (with the exception of really skilled snipers)
In all seriousness though, this update was needed. Snipers are SUPPORT. Not tanks. They should next to never be winning head to head gunfights against scout/pulse/auto rifles. Now, I understand they have to have some benefit as remaining completely hidden (like a sniper should) is impossible with scope glare and radar. They should and need to be a threat...but not game breaking.

1 AntwortenTypically the range to best use a sniper is greater than the range of the radar, so that's not really an issue.
-
1 AntwortenNext is shotguns?
-
Body and primary finish is now the most effective way.

I really like the sniper changes. Since I'm one of those guys who never gets a "God roll" anything, I actually just had to get good at sniping. Now there are considerably less snipers to fight against and considerably more scrubby shotguns whores. Destiny has gotten much easier and honestly, I'm so ready for Trials. It'll be the easiest run since the age of Thorn and Messenger.

I agree. But most ppl resort to body shots now. Wich STILL takes away 70% of ur HP.

1 AntwortenI think part of it was warranted. I don't think snipers should be able to kill you if you are strafing and tagging them with crits. But the damage reduction was 100 percent stupid.

Bearbeitet von CrestedEBIN: 9/17/2016 5:31:16 PMI wouldn't nerf the gun .. Instead I would increase the damage taken while ADS You want to camp ADS ? well... It should hurt 1.5x as much when getting hit ... If you are going to gain a range advantage then you should be able to finish your kill .. If you want to try and persist ADS for the chance aim assist will kick in then i say get wreckt ...

I had a go with my new and first Longbow today. I mainly use my primary, try to use my secondary only in situations where it feels necessary for that extra backup. Sidearms are seriously -blam!-ing fun though. Got a couple of kills with it, and took my first ever sunbreaker out mid super with a seriously quick snipe headshot. Not sure how I managed it tbh, probably just a lucky shot. But seriously satisfyin as he was really -blam!-in shit up for the other dudes/dudettes. He'd already took some damage. I think they've done a good job with the stagger. Knowing what it does when you're taking hits while ads is reassuring to know when you come up against another sniper. Atleast it evens it out that bit more.

1 AntwortenI agree, it should be impossible to land a headshot while taking fire. It was a good change. The damage nerf however, has -blam!-ed us pve players over a little bit. I'm not too happy about that.

10 AntwortenYou must be on a low SBMM tier were most snipers sit scoped in all day down long lanes. Most sniper I deal with use them to check the lanes and keep going. They are scoped in less than a second. This includes target acquisition and snapping off a headshot. The "nerfs" did nothing to them.

No Land can hit dirty shots

Agreed indeed.

Sounds like you're just bad.

1 AntwortenThey should win head to head gunfights - within their intended range. Outside of that, absolutely they have a role as support.
-
They have become a lot less dominant in close encounters which is a good thing. I can usually match with them at a distance because I use Colovance Duty.
-
I haven't noticed a single difference.

Snipers feel no different to me in pvp.
