I have time, but no one explains.

Why were snipers hit with a damage nerf again? I don't understand why being able to shut down a super was so op. And did people really think that body shot- primary combo was a problem. I didn't ever really have an issue with snipers other than the flinch (or lack thereof) so nerfing the damage doesn't make sense at all to me.

    Ironically, after the recent nerf the oddest sniper rifle in the game became the most efficient. Fast handling, lots of ammo, great range, beautiful snappy iron sights, and high impact. Takes down supers with a single shot. If you can pace yourself to deal with slow reload, you will fall in love with that beast. It's on my hunter now. It's a great rifle, it makes n00bs cry.

    • They nerfed because. 1. The LDR/1YKS/LBA class of snipers were out of balance. They had become do-everything weapons with no trade offs. Great range. Snappy, scout rifle like handling. High aim-assist. Good magazine and reserve size. Rez snipe in Trials. Snipe playes out of their supers in 3v3. There was almost no reason to use anything else in both PVP and PVE. 2. So now they've made it so there is a clear trade off between impact, aim-assist, and speed of handling. You can have high aim-assist and really fast handling in a sniper....but you're going to have to trade impact (Weyloran's March). You can have moderate impact...but you're going to now have to trade some aim-assist and handling speed (LDR/LBA where it now sits). You can have the highest impact in the game...but you're going to have to pay a serious price in terms of aim-assist (low) and speed of handling (slow) (Black Spindle). 3. What this does is that it creates a set of trade offs that give the sniper rifles much more clearly deifned roles in PVE. Fast-handling, low impact trash mob ikllers, versus slow heavy hitting boss killers Black Spindle. In PVP it forces you to trade handling speed, aim assist and magazine size...if you want to be certain of sniping people out of supers. So your going to have to use a weapon that is going to be able to exert less pressure on neutral game play because its slower...and you'll have to fight from farther back. Or you can have that faster handling sniper that is able to pressure neutral game play....but at the price of having to rely more on your own super if you want to counter other supers.

        They nerfed damage beguise there was no reason to use the highest inpact sniper archetype. 1000 yard archetypes had more aim assist, rate of fire and it could 1shot everything. Now if you want to 1shot, you have to use a highest inpact sniper, the trade is having less aim assist and mag size. High RoF sniper=low risk (high aim assist), low reward (low damage). mid RoF sniper=mid risk, mid reward. Midhigh RoF sniper was low risk, high reward, now its maderate risk, maderate reward. Last high inpact snipers=(very) high risk, high reward (1shots supers). I hope you understand now why bungie did this, and in my personal opinion, its better now.
