Recently, a certain Exotic weapon (Universal Remote) has become a topic of debate in these forums. Some people want it nerfed, others want it to stay where it is.
I thought I'd make my own thoughts clear on the subject, so I made this thread.
Despite the fact that the thread has 8 likes as of me writing this sentence, the majority of the comments seem to be focusing on one of two things:
1) Snipers are OP and that means UR needs nerfing (You guys realise how ridiculous this sounds, right?)
2) OP HAS A LOW K/D AND THAT SOMEHOW RENDERS ALL HIS POINTS INVALID HURR HURR HURR!
Yes, I have a low K/D. Until a few months ago, I sucked in the Crucible. In addition, I rarely ever actually try during my matches. Why? There's no point. Any rewards I get are based on participation, not performance. I don't have an incentive to win, therefor I see little point in trying.
Leaving my recent improvements aside, why the hell should the fact that I have a low K/D in the crucible leave me with basically no respect whatsoever in these forums? Why the hell does it matter that the person saying these things either sucks or is super amazing at Skirmish or some crap?
Almost all I see when I get a new notification is someone either insulting my skill or my intelligence and I don't know how much longer I can take it. I'm getting sick and tired of the ridicule, guys. I paid for this game, I'll play it however I damn well please, and my opinion matters just as much as any one of yours. So get the hell off of your high horse and start treating me with some goddamn respect!

My three characters have a k/d ratio between .9-1.2. I was one of those who would rush in and get killed a bunch. I learned from my mistakes and was able to bring my KD up a little. Saying that, I never really cared about my KD so much as getting revenge on those who would use those weapons. I like a challenge and better players make me better. If someone is upset about a weapon they are always being killed by try using that weapon yourself or character with a certain subclass. Like anything you have to have skill and a lot of luck to do well all of the time.
-
My KD is crap too. It's gotten better from where it was in year one but I have no delusions of being a crucible God. I could care less what others think about that.
-
2 AntwortenI've seen way worse kds than yours bud, don't let em get to you. They're just over compensating for something else missing from their life such as: Actual accomplishments. An enjoyable sex-life. The awesome feeling of not living with your mom any more. And so on...
it's okay to cry.

let it out.
OP's kd sucks... Can't take his point seriously
-
Wow first reaction..check KD maybe it is...
-
5 AntwortenWell, I haven't insulted you. That said... People with a high K/D, or more importantly a high elo, are to my mind more qualified to make an informed statement on weapon balance. If you get killed by everything all the time how would you know if you just got outplayed, out gunned, or if something is just over powered? You could take a guess, but again, if you are getting crushed by everything constantly......

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von JT-Rex-: 9/6/2016 4:22:50 PMThe incentive to win in crucible is for more reputation gains and to complete bounties. Saying you have a low kd because you don't try is the worst excuse ever. If your bad your bad. Now I'm no monster in pvp with all my characters having just above or below 1kd, but I know when I'm out played and I know when I have the upper hand in gunfights/super exchanges. I can accept getting a 0.4 kd in a game if players on the other team are clearly on another level because I know the next game I most likely will come out with 2.4 kd. I do not however accept red bar warriors ruling the game, that's another story lol. My point being though is stop making excuses and if your not actually going to try then get the hell out of crucible. Go play rumble where your not letting your team down who have all most likely entered the match thinking all their teammates actually want to win. I guess this post could have been explained more eloquently but I guess i'm not trying lol

Some might forget its a game
-
It's not necessarily disrespecting you [in most cases], people just don't trust your opinion because your stats indicate you have less experience in PvP. Compare it to a random person giving advice to an Olympic athlete on how to do better in their given sport or what to change in the way they play. The advice will be heard, most likely mocked, then forgotten, simply because the source wasn't as reliable as another athlete or a coach for that same sport. Now, this doesn't mean that the source wasn't providing good information, just that it didn't have the credibility to support it's claims.
-
So to clarify... You directly stated you don't try in Crucible and wonder why you get no respect/better. Is there a reason i should respect you in the first place?
-
2 AntwortenYou lost me at "I didn't even used to try!"
-
truth be told, couldn't give a fûck about anyone's KD. whether it be high or low, as long as you can enjoy it for what it is, a game, and don't cheat... that's good enough for me
-
You're just as good or bad as me m8. I make topics on positivity, but it gets no attention. You have same kd, and this is in trending.
-
2 AntwortenLet it go man, there's more important things to deal with in life. Sadly its like politics or religion, you're not gonna change anyone's opinion on kd with this.

Great post, I have a lowing K/D and absolutely destroy with UR on smaller maps🤘🏻 Exodus Blue, Drifter, Sector 618, Anomaly...Shit that's all I can name off the top of my head. If you can NLB, try to UR. You better know those corners and contours or your ass is dead every time!!! For those who think that getting a high kill count with that gun isn't hard you're a fool!

The irony of this topic is clearly lost on many, if not most of the people who've replied.

1 AntwortenKevin Durant going to the Warriors isn't a big deal to me. I think he deserves to afford himself the best chance at a ring. Why the Destiny community should care is beyond me.
-
1 AntwortenI read this post then looked at your KD and stats and I now understand the problem.
-
Hard scooping one area and jumping in front of someone with a one hit weapon does not make you good I can't tell u how many time I've spanked kids and outa no where they take out a universal remote lol trust me it's op leave it's stats alone but nerf the rate of fire and handling it's way to smooth for that type of range of a shootgun

This community is already toxic?

Bearbeitet von Whap: 9/6/2016 8:43:33 PMTl;dr There comes a point when you become good enough at pvp that you like to win. However, I don't believe there is a single person who enjoys completely caring bad teammates unless it is to help a friend. I require very lenient stats for people to be in my lobby. Playing with players of similar skill is fun. Hence, the entire point of gaming. If for some reason you really feel the need to play with those specific players who have good stats then either "git gud" or get some friends. If you don't care about stats or about winning, then who are you to complain about who other people party up with. Just play with others who don't care.
-
Turning? Sadly this community was toxic before any meta weapons

2 AntwortenFind me one online multiplayer FPS where K/D doesn't matter. You won't cuz there isn't one. To the vast majority of players, K/D is EVERYTHING to them as sad as it sounds. I mean, it's a game FFS. But some people think having a high K/D will somehow equate to real world success/respect. K/D is a good indicator of how well you play however it's not the end goal measurement. I think more intelligent people will agree that SPM (score per minute) or something similar, determines how good a player you really are. But, seeing as this is Destiny, there is no such thing as a good player, just someone with better connection/host than you.
-
1 AntwortenWhen people actually take shit like k/d serious in an argument I just laugh because there is no way some one can be more pathetic. You know..cuz it's a video game lol. It ain't that serious.

I don't fined UR that op. I mean most are pairing it with a sniper and unless they are quick scope gods will get picked off at mid range quite easily. If they run at you just keep backing up and getting shots off with whatever primary your using. The only thing that makes it op is when it's paired with a storm callers ranged melee, it's a little ridiculous at that point but that's more about the melee then the UR.
