Why the hate for rp threads?

1 AntwortenBecause typically they're filled with kids who are acting like they know a lot about things completely foreign to them. I see kids pretending to be at bars (frequently ordering cringey shit like blood), describing guns they've probably never held, trying to be dark, tough, and mysterious while failing at all three, and ascribing themselves God-tier powers. RP threads are some of the cringiest shit on this site.

1 AntwortenWell, we get a bad rap sometimes, and for good reason too. The vast majority of the community is, as people say, edgy teens who can hardly write--or at least it used to be. Contrary to common belief, a lot of the people I RP with (myself included) are well-rounded, normal people, who are certainly now where near as autistic as the rest of Offtopic is. Just don't listen to that hate. This is a video game forum FFS. We're all nerds of some sort, otherwise we wouldn't be here, so just do what you'd like. People are going to complain either way.

The horrid amount of space they consume throughout the front page is quite unnecessary, especially with the existence of groups meant for that shit. It's also pretty sad that people are so bored and uninspired by their real life that they feel the need to create a feigned reality to live in and seclude themselves from the real world and their issues.

2 AntwortenI role played as Burter of the Ginyu Force for some time, it was fun. Apparently, I joined Frieza's army/group and he was a moderator of Planet Vegeta, but he banned everyone, everyone who role played as a Saiyan was angry, but it was somehow entertaining. I know, sounds very cringe worthy, but you should have seen it. Then again, I very rarely play many games anymore.
