contrary to my other posts, this one is more on the serious side.
Okay so The Last Word is kinda weird right now.
The nerfs and buffs to hand cannons have affected TLW in many ways. The gun was meant to be hip fired but the blanket buff to hand cannons that increased accuracy when ADS made this gun more consistent when ADS, making the exotic perk almost useless.
Here's an idea on how I think the gun can be balanced.
Return the precision damage increase when firing from the hip and increased stability.
But.
The gun can only be fanfired when firing from the hip. If you ADS, it will fire like a regular handcannon.(seriously, how is a guardian able to ADS and fanfire at the same time)
When ADS, the gun receives an increase to range and accuracy.
When firing from the hip(fanfiring), the gun receives an increase to precision damage and stability.
Thoughts?
Edit: What I meant by "increase to range and accuracy when ADS" is that ADS with the weapon will give it a slight range boost to avoid phantom bullets. But it will not get the significant range boost of the first curse.

I think the last word is fine it's just that everyone has one now because of zur

1 AntwortenThey're fixing all of this in the rise of iron!

Without the ads bonus then I would agree that this is the change the gun has always needed. Like fan fire ads wtf bungie
-
1 AntwortenI always thought that it should have the Suros Regime treatment. When you ads it fires slower, but has more range and accuracy but it does not have the damage bonus. Then when hip fired you fan the gun like usual, with much faster fire rate and with the damage bonus.

4 AntwortenTo the untrained eye the Last Word is a junker. To the trained eye, however, this junker…is a beast. The last word is a cqc weapon that excels at close ranges. Its a good weapon for snipers and an even better counter for shot gun rushers. You should know the range in which your gun is able to the most damage when engaging a gun fight. The Last Word still have the lowest time to kill in the game in its respective range. Since I use a sniper, the last word is my go to weapon. If you want an alternative to the Last Word.I recommend the Doctrine of Passing or Grasp of Malok.

60 AntwortenBearbeitet von xGhost 0f War: 9/5/2016 6:09:43 PMThe only thing that needed fixing on tlw was the ads glitch. Other than that the gun was fine. Now its trash. Thorn is still viable today simply cos of the burn (thorn is the biggest scrub gun ever, if you reply trying to defend this gun i will mute you as i will not converse with scrubs, i wont even degrade myself by responding to you once).

Nah. I like fan firing it when aiming too. It looks and feels cool.
-
I don't think TLW should gain those range and accuracy bonuses, that'll just make it a weaker first curse. Agree with the rest of it though.
-
But make it extremely inaccurate while hip firing. 2 shot headshot with that fire rate is too strong.

This.
I approve of this
Someone hire this man

The range is out of control

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Spicy: 9/5/2016 8:22:53 PMI have a problem with its hit registration. Sometimes its bullets wont register one at a time like they're supposed to and instead will register all at once. I've seen my health and the health of others I've shot with TLW go from half to being dead because the game stacks the damage all at once.
-
No. Leave that gun as is sorry. In the proper hands it kicks but and that is fine..the way it was before anyone could be effective with it. I respectfully disagree man sorry.
-
Nah, you are suggesting a buff pretty much..tlw is good now, it's in a cqc box and it needs to stay there..no range increase or extra damage what so ever.

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von Brick: 9/6/2016 8:21:15 AMI'm pretty sure the reason they removed the bonus precision damage on hip fire was because people had figured out that you could proc it by ADS after the first bullet was fired. I really don't see them bringing it back.. If they could have figured out a work around then I'm sure they would have done that instead of removing it all together. I honestly hope TLW gets left behind at some point.. It alone puts ARs as a class in an odd position.

6 AntwortenIf by "overhaul" you mean "removed from the game" then yes. The gun will always be OP unless Bungie takes away from it the very qualities that define it (which would not be good). It should have remained a relic of Destiny's bad ass lore and never been put into the game as a playable weapon.

19 AntwortenBearbeitet von Reclaimer: 9/6/2016 9:21:16 PMNo. Reduce the mag to 6, cut the range in half, and lower the reload speed. There needs to be a tradeoff for its rate of fire. Right now, there isn't one. But this is a minor problem compared to the special ammo infestation in Crucible right now. Edit: "Ghost bullets" are not an intentional trade-off for the weapon. That's a result of both lag and the constant tuning of HCs in general, some of which I suspect both unintentionally and randomly apply to TLW. I'm describing TLW purely under the assumption of a situation where it functions properly.

Xur sells the gun at the weekend, surprised this wasn't up Monday. SMH
-
I can agree with this. But there's one thing in confused about; most people these days tap so ads/fanfire doesn't affect them. How much would the fire rate slow down?
-
25 AntwortenNot again. Just stop, the weapon is fine. I swear it seems like people will not rest until every single drop of fun is sucked out of this game.
-
xur sold it last week...now annoying; a lot of people using it atm
-
10 AntwortenThis gun should be removed from the game along with hunters. Both do not fit in with this game
-
16 AntwortenPeople are still calling this gun OP? You guys serious? When was the last time you were downed by one of these in the crucible? Nobody packs this thing anymore, it's a potato. Year one it was a beast and the ads glitch made it kind of ridiculous but as soon as year two dropped all of the whiners prayers had been answered and it was nerfed into near uselessness.
stop killing unique weapons in destiny with your salty tears
YES! I agree!
