22 AntwortenBecause they really don't understand what the problem is. Over the months I've determined that the problem with sniping,at its core, isn't the weapons or how they are used. It's the ability to properly [b]counter[/b] them. . Flinch moves the same way every time and re-centers in a consistent and timely way. People have gotten used to using a poorly implemented and predictable mechanic instead of actual gun skill. When you are presented with the right opportunity to counter a sniper and are doming them repeatedly they should not be able to get accurate shots off as consistently and easily as they do. There are situations that should allow any medium to long range primary to counter a sniper. The problem is that no sniper will run from that fight because the current flinch makes it a very low risk activity because they know they just have to wait for the flinch to re-center. Allowing sniping to become a low risk high reward activity. My kid, Whose a better sniper than me, spent over a week studying what happened while sniping under fire. We purposely put her in spots where she was exposed to scouts and pulses. We did this with 3 different sniper rifles of varied Aim assist and no Unflinching. We watched as the flinch consistently re-centered on its own and she had to do nothing but wait. That's a terrible and broken mechanic that in no way promotes real skill. It artificially increases the effectiveness of snipers. Flinch movement needs to be randomized and not re-center. This would mean that [b]actual thumb skill[/b] (Something [b]Bungie [/b]talks about wanting to promote) is needed to reacquire your target instead of timing a broken mechanic. And yes it should be gave the same across all weapons. A change like this will have very little affect on weapons that fire quicker and run and gun because you already already constantly requiring your target. I've refined my position on this over the months through conversations with people and watching my own kid snipe through raining fire with ease. As well as watching tons of sniping vids. Note: I'm not for any kind of nerf the weapon itself. Just the flinch mechanic.

2 AntwortenI use bad juju a lot. That is an automatic pulse rifle with a pretty decent rof. Now, if I see a sniper and shoot the dude constantly landing my bursts only to get him down to a sliver of health and then I'm sniped, that's not cool. Now, if I miss, then by all means he should be able to get his shot off. If you run infront of a hardscoper, nothing you can do, but it's when you're landing shots and they just snipe you. It's so frustrating because the only counter to a sniper is a sniper. Makes the game so slow and boring.

1 AntwortenThis has to be bait, right? They did reduce the damage on rockets. Truth is just a shadow of its former self. They nerfed damage, blast radius, and totally destroyed the horse shoes and hand grenades perk. The tracking that says "aggressively tracks" has become a joke as well...I didn't know year two truth was specter edition.

5 AntwortenI'll tell you why they want to nerf snipers. It's either 1. They suck using it in crucible or 2. The fact they can't accept the fact that a single shot in the head is instant death. Solution? 1. Practice and 2. Stay out of line of sight of sniper. Problem solved.

2 AntwortenI still think snipers should have been put in the heavy weapons category. It's way too easy to just sit back and snipe from the start of the match. The thing that made sniping so awesome in Halo when Bungie ran it was that it was a pick-up item on the map that you had to fight for because they knew it was a weapon that dominated.

3 Antwortenhonestly if they make snipers any worse than they are right now the meta will be nothing but shotguns. It already almost is all shotguns. But it would undoubtedly get worse.

2 AntwortenSnipers are too forgiving under fire. If specials are going to fill special roles like bungie claims they need to define those roles. Snipers are too ubiquitous and unlike shotguns that have a small effective range and multiple counters snipers are limited more to scout and pulse counters only. Closing distance can help but that depends on the sniper and how skilled/good at abusing the aim assist mechanics for drag scoping they are. Snipers need a reseparation of archetype. High impact should be slow and clunky, low impact snappy. Reverse the ammo changes and res changes they made to compress snipers even more and maybe then we could have some balance.

They did say make rockets do less damage. When gjally got nerfed rockets got a 25% blanket decrease in damage. Look back in the patch notes. Before ttk launch. Snipers are who ruined the game. Look at all the nerf crybabies. Well over 50% have a sniper in their loadout in almost every crucible game. I honestly hate nerf buff mentality but it would serve snipe crybabies well if those easy button weapons got nerfed to scout rifle usability. I'd lol so hard.

10 AntwortenToo effective in close range, body shot+primary is too easy. I'd say increase zoom on snipers significantly, and either reduce body shot damage or significantly reduce fire rates. And get rid of the auto-recentering, hitting head shots under fire is too easy as well. Or, instead of all of this, they could just buff primaries back to where they were in year one.

There should be a "sniper counter" so if you don't like snipers then you use the counter. Which was mida. Which mida should be given HC rounds back so it can counter. Also there should be an exotic pulse rifle that would be in the grasp archetype. This exotic would have the stability and range of the vendor hawksaw. This gun would have high caliber rounds built in. Then the exotic perk would be simular to luck in the chamber, but instead it would have one burst do bonus damage. So it could have a easy 3 burst. 2 burst to the body, one to the head. Now that's an exotic. Maybe I should work for bungie

Sniper are op in a way. Like shotguns they reward a type of play style. The shotgun rewards a very aggressive play style. Fusion rifle rewards a balance between timing and range. Sidearm rewards a simple play style. It just flows with a good weapon. Sniper rewards a steady and patience play style. The reason people say its op is because you don't really need good perks to make it work, you can camp with it, and it 1 hits anything to the head from any range. Plus the aim assist on different snipers make them seem a little unbalanced.

How about we actually buff the handling on snipers back to where they were in year 1 again? Slower handling just makes snipers more passive, and it discourages aggressive sniping. It's sad to see even the best snipers have to play a little more passive simply because of slower handling. While we're at it, give back the handling on shotguns too. Maybe even make primary buffs that are unrelated to TTK in order to balance this out. Whatever they have to do, I really want those year 1 sniper mechanics back again.

Snipers don't have enough flinch. High Caliber rounds should be the normal flinch. And High Caliber should add horizontal flinch only to snipers
