God Eater?
Was wondering if anyone has played the God Eater series, and if it's worth pre-ordering the new one coming out?
I've looked at the series, but I wasn't too impressed with the Monster Hunter title I played or Toukiden, and it looks like another re-skin of those...
Is it any better?

Thanks for everyones feedback. I've also noticed that God Eater to will be available to play (Along with Xenoverse 2) at Fan Expo here in Canada this year. So I'll check that out before buying as well.

Combat (in the first at least) is a little clunky and gets very grindy later on, sometimes taking 30 minutes to kill one or two enemies. Story seems really good though. In the second combat is much more fluid, a little more customization exists. Enemies seem to not be as grindy but it could be because I'm in early game still. Story seems a little worse thus far, but that could change quickly.

God Eater is very much like Monsterhunter, even more so than Toukiden. Combat is a bit simpler and your weapon has both a melee and ranged mode but as far as Monsterhunter clones go GE is probably the closest to MH. If you didn't like Toukiden and MH then I doubt you'll like this but I think there will be a demo soon so you could test it yourself.

If you didn't like Monster Hunter, you probably won't like God Eater. Same kinds of games, basically.
