Anyone Else Saving Up Engrams for Rise of Iron?
I don't know if this will work or not, but I heard that it did for TTK's April update. I have about 10 gold engrams and quite a few legendary and sublime engrams stashed in the vault and postmaster, waiting for the new expansion to turn in and get new exotics (especially warlock legs). I don't plan to cash them in immediately, but will wait until I level up a bit and then turn them in.
If it works, I'll have some shiny new stuff; if it doesn't. I'll have some exotic shards which I sorely need. Win-win.
Anyone else going to try this?
EDIT: 24 hours later, most replies are of the belief that it won't work the way it did in April, due to that being an update rather than an expansion. This may very well be, but I see nothing to lose from trying.
I'm still sticking with my plan, since even if the engrams decrypt as old gear, they [i]should[/i] (fingers crossed) be consistent with my new, higher light level. They will also rapidly boost my cryptarch level and yield new gear that way. I've even started letting blue engrams stack up a bit at the postmaster.

I don't care if the saved engrams get RoI gear or not. It'd be nice if they drop the same old same old but with higher light for infuse bait. If not, it's Christmas in September because there's a lot of shards/weapon/armor parts to be had, including ranking up with that Cryptarch many times. You have nothing to lose by banking engrams until the new DLC drops.

Engrams will help rank up with the Cryptarch which could get you a new legendary. Get your factions ranks close to leveling up. I saved 5 brown bounties for legendary marks. Also the True meaning of War bounties from Shaxx.

It won't work. HOWEVER, you can get shit tons of rep for turning them in, which can give you a rank up package that has a RoI engram. That's what I'm doing.

I've got all exotics (most at 335) so I'm saving any engrams I get. About 40 so far. I'm not saving legendaries as they'd take up too much space. I'll decrypt the engrams after a week or 2 I going to save materials / motes / etc for faction rank up I have 9 weekly IB bounties (225 legendary marks) That's about it. I'm not edging vendor it faction rep as that would mean stopping playing when I'm close

When the light increased to 335, engrams saved decrypted at light levels up to 335. I don't think any of the engrams will decrypt into new gear, but the exotic engrams have a chance for higher light.

it only works for leveling up the cryptarch; engrams earned during ttk wont turn into RoI gear

1 Antwortenthere going to encrypt to ttk items at ttk LL's. Only benefit to saving engrams is after roi if you turn enough in you will get a cryptarch package which will have a chance at getting a roi legendary at roi LL's

It won't turn into new exotics but it may be at higher light levels. I personally am saving some engrams and a lot of heavy ammo.

have about 20 exotic engrams saved up since all my stuff is max level by now anyway and even if the engrams dont decode into new gear ill be getting exotic shards

Yeah it didnt work with taken king, but save em anyway extra glimmer and materials when you do get new stuff
