There isn't an issue with the snipers being overused. The issue is that bungie has made them extremely easier to use. I've been playing since the beta. The snipers in Y1 were clunky, slow, mediocre handling and performed like a normal sniper. Most people back then actually had skill and hidden hand wasn't even thought of. Truthfully i'd rather have final round over hidden hand. Atleast the player sniping is skilled and didn't have a sniper with stupid high Aim Assist and hidden hand on top of it. If year one sniping returns i guarantee more skill and less assist will be shown.

45 AntwortenSnipers need a negative to them. Shotguns have low range, rng bullet spread and slow reload. Fusions have charge time, and some accuracy problems. Snipers however, can be used at any range. Rewards body shots since you can just tap them with a primary after. You can safely get kills in the back of the map all game. And a skilled sniper can kill anyone trying to rush them, at almost any range.

The real issue is they keep balancing primary weapons to the point where people feel like they need to ride the meta train in order to actually stand a chance. If they would stop -blam!-ing up primaries, buffed a couple, and brought the grasp class in line, it would probably curb the whole "use nothing but your secondary the entire match" issue.

1 AntwortenUhhh, final round took zero skill, this coming from an efrideet final rounder through all of HOW. Hidden hand gives a fractional amount of aim assist (I think I heard between 4 to 9 points) And you act as though it's impossible to miss.

2 AntwortenThey actually nerfed snipers just before year two started. I think Mtashed did a video on it. From what I recall they reduced the effects of AA and reduced their handling. Those things might be wrong because I haven't seen the video in a while but I'm fairly certain snipers were way easier to use in year one

I like to use mine in a one on one or when I'm being rushed or even shot at. It's too easy for hardscopers to pick you off. They can have a 0.3 KD and you can slide or jump round a corner and he'll either double body you or dome you so easily but catch them off guard and you can drop them with ease. When I'm being shot while I'm sniping I'll have a quick pop shot as I'm moving away hoping for a body shot to make them back off and 90% of the time the flinch actually makes me land a headshot, it's ridiculous. Either make all snipers bolt action and see how many players never use one again or buff all primary damage. They should not be able to take a couple of bursts and run away.

I was just as good with snipers in Year 1 as I am now. Personally I haven't noticed any difference at all.

4 AntwortenThere is no mechanic that make them one bit challenging...aim shoot kill....very little stagger, they aim fast, scope in fast, switch weapons fast, do 167 to 181 damage on body shot lol, no sway, no descope, etc....they are as easy to use at long range as well as mid range...

14 AntwortenThe problem is how snipers are staggered in this game. I've got a hawksaw and a full auto Suros dis-47 both with HCR's that I use and I can put BURSTS into a snipers face and still get Dome'd while strafing! A snipers reticle moves strait up and then strait down and auto corrects from the "flinch". This happens way to often. It should move to the left and right depending on where you get shot from. In no way should someone be able to get a precision shot off after being mauled in the face with any weapon. It's broken AF and needs to be addressed!

As someone who ran Universal Remote/Purifier in Year 1, the transition to using a sniper was no struggle what so ever. My first game I got like maybe 5-10 headshots with a sniper.
