Why do people think that Atheon sends them to Mars
Its name is Atheon, Time's Conflux. The vex are known for their manipulation of time? It teleports you either the past or future. Where did people get Mars from when then raid takes place on Venus?

They just thought it looked like Mars.

There is mention of the Vex having control over space and time. You can't rule out the possibility of the left gate leading to Mars. Plus, it's easier to say "Mars" or "Venus" during the fight. You could be right though. The "Mars" gate could be Venus in the distant future, or it could just be an alternate timeline altogether. The lore is vague, and both opinions can be validated in one way or another.

Because it's easier to say and remember over past and future, left and right, or front and back.

it's simply a callout, based on the visual design of the location. Most players that run VoG know that you never leave Venus, but Mars is the first word that comes to mind when you first enter that area.

But a little dash of common sense and you can recognize you're in the same place in a different time. It's more memorable that makes on the fly Callouts easier and more recognizable when in a raid.

It simply looks like Mars. It's a good indicator as to what gate to open when the three people people get teleported. (Left/Mars - Right/Venus)

It looks like Mars. But really, anyone with a minimap can see they are just physically I'm a different location from within the raid.

7 AntwortenIf you have the bounties for Mars and Venus reconnaissance, you well gain completion for the respective planet he sends you to. Same with ghosts that give you planetary materials on engram pickup. So yes. He does send you to Mars and Venus.

It isn't actually Mars. It's probably future Venus or something... It's just easier to call it Mars

Bearbeitet von Zayas: 8/27/2016 10:05:16 PMBecause it takes longer to explain to people why it isn't (and having to do so multiple times to different raid teams isn't fun) when we know that people in general are familiar with what Mars looks like instead. It simply makes callouts in VoG easier because you don't really have to think about it, it's either 'Venus' and 'Mars', or 'Left' and 'Right'.
