Im not disputing the historical validity of the act, whether it occurred or not. Im arguing that philosophically, a sacrifice isn't a sacrifice if you can just get back what you gave up. It cheapens it. "Oh sure, ill die for you. But you know, ill just come back in a few days, so, it's cool."

The sacrifice wasn't made by us. If we sacrificed him and he rose again, I would agree with you. But we didn't make the sacrifice, Jesus' Father did. True, Jesus rose, but the Father had to send his only son down to earth to see him die one of the most excruciating deaths known to man, to take our rightful place. Jesus who had no sin, took our sin and paid the price evil required. A sacrifice was made by Jesus as well. He chose to take our judgement and sin, and as a result, had to die in the cross, while the Father turned his back since He couldn't look at sin. Both the Father and Jesus went through great pain through this process, so it was quite a sacrifice.

This is a discussion that simply doesn't belong on this forum. Suffice to say, i find everything you just said distasteful and ludicrous and backwards.

Alright...try to be a bit nicer next time as far as his beliefs. I respect your beliefs though. Also, be glad that you've been lucky enough to find 2 actually civil Christians on this forum. I'm actually surprised no one has raged at you yet.

Those who get angry when their beliefs are challenged are usually insecure in those beliefs and thus deserve to be challenged. It's up to them whether or not they come out with the same mindset or not.

Everyone should be challenged, I think. That's the whole point of faith. Faith without fact is nothing, and if your belief contradicts obvious fact then it is not true. What constitutes obvious fact, however, is up for debate, and fact can still be interpreted in different ways.

Well, believe what you wanna believe, I'm obviously not gonna be able to convince you. I just hope you change your mind. Have a good evening!
