I'm focusing on casual PvP and not trials when I say this. This is just my opinion, but I honestly believe that the weapons you choose for your load-out are only half the battle to winning in the Crucible. People need to stop crying to Bungie to please nerf everything that kills them. That weapon your opponent is using is not the issue . . . . . you're getting outplayed. I'm not talking about opponents with red bar connections and lag switchers because that's obviously out of your control. It seems like people wanna blindly flock to meta weapons. If I can just get that god rolled whatever then I will be swimming in the W's. Your core first person shooter skills will win you the game. Can you traverse the map fluidly and juke? Are you aware of choke points? Can you predict where the opponents will be based on what control points are capped, who just died etc? Is your aim solid to where you can land consistent headshots? Do you blindly run towards the radar ping? Do you use grenades and equipment effectively? If I constently keep getting killed by Joe Blow using his The Last Word/Longbow combo then guess what? He's outplaying me and every death will be a bit of lesson to me. I've been testing Green and Blue loadouts in the Crucible, and the results have been nearly the same as if I had chosen Legendaries and Exotics to use. I'm an average player but do manage to go positive consistently. Just find weapons that you click with and learn from your mistakes guys. No tears, only fun now.

Stop whining. You sound like those arseholes always flapping on about nerfs.....

I am never outplayed!

I've been noticing that if I'm on a map I know fairly well I do better. I think map knowledge helps more experienced players. That and aiming... how some of these YouTube vids I been watchin make it look so easy. But if I'm on a map I don't know very well or do not like... it's harder for me.

Good post. I like the insight you provide

5 Antwortencause many of us dont whine about weapons we whine about BAD CONNECTIONS that do effect the game ! why my games go from a avg player to sucking big time the next one why I go from say 15 kills to 2 kills because I cant shoot anything !!!! and they are killing me around corners or even when I cant see them !!! its not my connection again game before OK next game LAG was playing one rumble and the guy who won was for sure using a switch as I watched him disappear around me just to pop up behind and shotgun me over and over !!!! almost like he KNEW he could do it what bungie needs to do is ban these folks and start to make anyone in the game red bar bounced from the game !

Great post

I would apply that if it were the case most of the time. However, it's not the case a great deal of the time, so of course I'm going to blame something else. Lag has ruined this game. BUNGIE has ruined this game.

3 AntwortenYou aren't am average player, you're a fledgling, a whelp. You haven't even got 25 wins in control yet. I think it's hilarious you would stand in the forums and declare like your speaking gospel when you've hardly touched the crucible. While we're discussing advice, here's mine: walk the full mile after putting on the shoes, simply putting them on your feet isn't sufficient.

Bearbeitet von Jinxeo: 8/15/2016 9:22:52 PMExactly, I've been doing horribly recently because number one, I suck at most games, and number two, I can't find a weapon that I'm comfortable with lately. I've had that problem in every video game, be it from Call of Duty, Battlefield, and now Destiny. Let me tell you, it really sucks, I feel so confused while playing, like I'm in a fog and my guns feel awkward and strange. Edit: forgot to mention what I think its from. Don't ignore mental health problems everyone, they wear on you after ignoring them for years.

Absolutely every word of this is something I've thought, too! PVP is actually extremely complicated (and in some cases I say an art form)! I'm a casual player too, and I think playing for fun comes with a lack of "self-pressure" to be "good", which in turn is what helps one to appreciate the art of gameplay---which is, by nature, is best advice about actually "getting good" and appreciating a plethora of play styles.

What you're saying isn't untrue, but far from being that simple. First of all they've made crucible worst with almost everything they've done to primaries since the December update. They almost had it, almost there with weapon balancing before that update, but have made HRoF low impact the reigning weapons in crucible. That "load out" you speak of are, well, pretty much all the same. It's not hard to tell when with every death, the same rotation of primaries appear on the screen. Only the odd time you will see a medium to high impact AR/PR. And now they've broken HC with their bloom crap.

in the first year the wapon was type ballanced and was the best it could be, with the game as it currently is has reduced almost all weapons to the so called 1.0 kd for every weapon no matter how it was originally suppost to be used (not by type and only based on the PvP side of the game which has ruined the PvE side for a lot of people). most of the hated weapons were all exotic class weapons (which were designed to feel more powerful than most weapons), their perks almost all ended up nerfed to death so most no longer feel exotic anymore. hand cannons had a better kill shot due to high damage and impact with good accuracy. scout rifles were set for mid to long range combat not short to mid range and was better than now in most aspects with their current decrease in accuracy and damage are used more often as a short to mid range weapon. pulse rifles were a good mix of a auto rifle with higher acuracy like a scout and medium damage between the two types. auto rifles i feel were more of a short range mob killer weapon but are now more or less unused. snipers were ment as a long range weapon but are now heavily used as more of a primary short to mid range weapon. shot guns were a short to mid range beast killing at decent range with high damage now weak as anything and range sucks. fusion rifles were a good back up weapon with good charge rate and power, now is far lower. rocket launchers were ment for clearing areas of mobs now are almost useless. Machine Guns were far better with good accuracy, high power and high clip capacity in most.

Bearbeitet von Erijian: 8/15/2016 10:06:24 PMI get what you're trying to say, but weapon/perk loadouts matter more in this game than anything else. If you're using the same exact setup as someone else and getting rekt without any lag being in the lobby, yeah you're getting outplayed. In almost any other scenario though, it has nothing to do with getting outplayed. You preached like you've been doing PvP for a long time, but you're still waist deep in the pool. Try again once you've been out in the deep end.

The responses to OP doesn't surprise me. *eats cinnamon bread*

I'm slightly above average and I'm fine with it. I don't use the Mida and shottie like everyone else, but live with the results of the weapons I like. Sure it's annoying that you can shoot someone ten times as the jump towards you and kill you with a shotgun, but those are the breaks.

6 AntwortenFun? Since when is the crucible fun, I'm being shot around or through walls, having every gun I love being trash in the crucible, sweaty try hards, and countless people running around with nothing but their shotgun, I'm sorry but no matter how good or bad, SBMM is always ruining this game along with horrible balancing.
-
Pretty much but most people in destiny seem to have a mini god complex and blame it on weapons, luck, teammates. anything at all, to not admit that they got outplayed 😦
-
You are in no place to talk about crucible, when you barely even play. Put in the work and then I'll take you seriously.
-
I get outplayed probably about half the times I die, maybe less. Destiny pvp is too inconsistent right now.

1 AntwortenIt's not that simple. Weapon of choice in this game DOES make a different. If this was a game like Halo or GoW where players Start out with the same 2 weapons, then I would agree completely with the "Outplayed" aspect, but Destiny is not that simple. Destiny has a variety of guns and loadouts you can use. Also, the characters themselves have a variety of skills that can further enhance your gameplay. Basically, you can't run into a match with any gun you want to if you want to be good. If I'm on a map like Pantheon and more than half the other team is sniping (not hardscoping), I'm not going to have much luck with my autorifle. My choices here are to use a Scout Rifle, Pulse Rifle, or try to counter-snipe. But what about rushing? Well sure I could try that but the other team could have TLW equipped as their primary. What I'm getting at here is, Destiny imo, is a game in which your loadout has a lot to do with the outcome of a game. Remember how people bitched about the Doctrine? Honestly, that was one of the easiest ARs to use and even the most skilled players were crying for nerfs because they believed that no loadouts countered it. My point here is that no matter how many nerfs, buffs, tweaks, etc. Bungie throws into this game, PVP will never be balanced. There are too many guns, too many perks, too many rolls to truly balance a game like this. The only REAL solution I see to balancing this game is to make players spawn with the same primary and special, while having exotic weapons spawn on the map. But as your typical asshole would say "This isn't Halo" TL;DR: Your loadout has an effect on how well you will do.

1 Antworten
If I constently keep getting killed by Joe Blow using his The Last Word/Longbow combo then guess what? He's outplaying me and every death will be a bit of lesson to me.
It's funny to me that you automatically associate a specific loadout with "being outplayed", when in reality all that argument does is show a clear imbalance across weapon types, if a specific combo is required to "outplay" someone. Especially when we all know snipers are the strongest and most efficient secondaries right now. "Yep, he got me good pa! Dat Longbow Aim Assist and 20 Yard Stare done did it again!"

Bearbeitet von xcutioner_0: 8/15/2016 7:04:08 PMOutplayed...getting lucky... It's all the same to me. They won the battle, I lost. Or vice versa. Most of the time after being killed, I take a quick second to see who did it and how. Besides it's all just fun in games right? :3

there's no such thing as "outplayed" in destiny

Bearbeitet von Oddish43: 8/15/2016 6:48:28 PMCrucible success is a synergization of quite a few things: 1. Weapon loadout. Pick the tools that you're comfortable with 2. Armor loadout. Pick armor that amplifies your playstyle. 3. Subclass selection. They're all about equal in strength overall, but you might be better with some than others. 4. Perk selection. Again, choose what goes with the way you play. 5. Tactics. Make smart decisions that advance your goals. Try to anticipate the enemy's actions. And know the battlefield! 6. Speed. You have to react faster than the other guy. 7. Dexterity. You have to be able to get your weapons on target quickly and efficiently. 8. Support from your team. A fireteam working in coordination will generally beat freelancers. 9. Sheer luck. More info: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/210728162?showBanned=0&path=0

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von : ^ ): 8/15/2016 6:39:30 PMAm I being outplayed when I join in a game where my team has zero fireteams and the enemy team is a fireteam of six and my team is losing by 12k points? Am I being outplayed by the guy who's connection changes more than teenagers change emotions? I can admit to being outplayed, but try playing solo queue. The game for some reason loves to feed you bullshit scenarios. If you play with a team of 5, apparently the game decides to make the game easier for some reason.
