So i received this msg today from someone i played against (regards to SBMM)
EDIT: This has really taken off. im not 100% against SBMM but we should never be matched with people across the other side of the world... it takes the kangaroos a long time to hop around the world with our data.
He said: "fix your goodwill internet homie youre red barrin hard"
I said: "Ye i know its -blam!-ed this morning for some reason... Where are you from?"
He said: "Haha [b]West coast Best coast[/b]!!"
I said: "...[b]Im from Australia... no wonder im lagging[/b]..."
He said: "[b]ohhhh boy lol no wonder[/b]"
Moral of the story, wouldnt have this problem is the match making was connection based...
Woudnt be receiving msgs from people saying how badly im lagging if match making was CBMM...

Please take note that i was matched with someone who was 12 000 Km away from where i live assuming he lives in LA.

What else were you expecting? At least it was west coast US... that could be close enough to the fiber backbone to be "about as good" as you're going to get outside of Japan and such. Europe to/from Sydney would likely have been much worse.

7 AntwortenHey i know you, iv'e 'Sum of all teared' you a couple times in rumble :D and you -blam!-ed over my trials run a while back, was carrying noobs who wanted to see the lighthouse for the first time. :) They were so mad and upset but at the same time they couldnt stop laughing at your gt so they were so torn. yeh SBMM is -blam!-ed completely, when your top 1% in Australia you will red bar EVERY single game :P I havent green bared since last year. Want proof, ask my friends xD I get matched with the same people every game, in trials il re-match the same group 3 times in a row usually.. Happened 2 times today :P two groups 3 times each. Its retarded. sbmm is honest to god the cancer of modern fps games. The good players are severely punished every single game while the noobs get to curb stomp other noobs without competition and without EVER getting better because every time a noob is about to move up a level the skill gap is so wild that they get destroyed and sent back down a level.

I have never received any msg like this, or lagged in a match (a few times) considering my location and the fact that I don't lag, you should check how you can improve your connection, cable (pls never use WiFi connection to play) better upload, download, etc.

im in the UK and get matched againts people in asia/australia all the time..the us when i get matched is pretty good tbh same with most of europe, but when i get chucked in a lobby with south korea and Malaysia and see nothing but redbar gods i wonder if its just bungies way of saying to me get gud...

2 AntwortenWhy they can't do region based connections and sbmm is beyond me ! Other games do it and with bungies pedigree one would think! I guess all their network guys left or are greens fresh out of networking school who still think p2p is the way to run an online game . Let's hope bungie takes our good hard earned money and puts it into dedicated servers for regions and tidied up matchmaking . He'll talk to ms and get the Xbox crew running on their azure servers.
