It would be awesome to have cross-platform play. But we'll never see it happen as that would make console sales pretty much irrelevant as the only thing that would drive players would be the few exclusives, most of which would probably be single player. Everything below is an opinion of what would be an awesome idea.....it is only an opinion. Maybe Sony and MS should combine forces and establish a new entity that makes just one console. That would also make it a bit easy on devs to only worry about one network. And then production companies only need to make one CD and case. Then publishers could save money by only making one commercial. Maybe we could see more content for games as there'd be an increase in return for the companies involved.
