Signed! Now with news of an exotic version I am glad I did. Because it is needed for obtaining the exotic version.
Edit: wow! I didn't expect this many to reply. Well for the most part I am now aware we don't need the rifle but heck its a damn good gun in crucible.

It's not needed, you can get the exotic version without having to dismantle the original one.

One Khvostov is still in the vault from the last character I created over a year ago. The weapon has not had any use since then. I wonder how difficult the quest will be for the exotic Khvostov. Maybe some part of the quest will be worse than the Thorn bounty or exotic sword quest. "Kill 25 guardians with an autorifle in a single match."

It isn't actually "needed" but it can be used to expedite the quest line to obtain the exotic. I saw that it will kind of be like the Sleeper in that you have to obtain relics/parts for the weapon. Those can be obtained during ROI activities or by dismantling the original weapon.

16 AntwortenI highly doubt that the Bungie will penalize people for not keeping the very first gun they got. I am sure that will not need the original Khovost and tat if you do, there will be a way to obtain it once again. It is very unlikely that Bungie will make you delete a character so that you can reacquire a piece of doodoo gun in order to complete a quest for a gun that is sure to be tweaked a million times until it become NERFED to oblivion.

Lol I kept raisins but why would I keep an white weapon that you can get whenever you (not) want and waste Vault Space? I rather storing my Y1 Iron Banner, Raid and Osiris Weapons
