Which came first?
the burning question we all want answered

The Vault. Grimoire states the Vex built it in an attempt to make a throne world like Crota & Oryx have. I still hold firm to my belief that Atheon = Kabr.

Quria sent plans for the Vex to make a "Throne Space," and the Vault was made to be a Vex Throne World, which is why they have the experimental Templar/Oracles and Gorgons in there. They have free reign

I think they created the vault in a separate timeline to create atheon and then pulled him into our timeline to create an improved vault. That or the glass throne was made, which created atheon, who then created the rest of the vault.
