At least I earned my Gjallarhorn.. Year 1
LOL @ scrubs finally getting the chance to BUY the coveted Gjallarhorn. You'll never know the feeling of EARNING it year 1 through the Vault of Glass.

I was playing a normal difficulty strike and the legendary engram I got from slapping a Psion before we even hit the first room of the strike turned into it. I also got my 1st exotic. (Icebreaker) from a engram drop off a lvl2 dreg I shot upon spawning in the cosmodrome. In other words... RNG is RNG. There is no earning.
