So got into resident evil lately again as I haven't for a long time. Picked up the REmake for ps4 and did a few runs. Even managed a 2:36:00 speed run time, a personal best for myself. I never played re:0 however. So I picked it up this morning, the ps4 remake like before. Now, I'm very familiar with classic RE. But being currently pretty early in the mansion, I assume, having a few difficulties. I blow through ammo, had about 80 handgun rounds a half hour ago, now none. Doesn't help that I have to supply the partner too, if I make them idle follow, they're dead weight. Literally. I find controlling two characters cumbersome at times. And I'm only left with 7 shotgun shells now. Being forced to go for decaps. Which is easy with this but I feel like I'm wasting shells I'll need later.
Sadly, I've never been good at scoring head shots with the handgun before, as I'm sure it's help a lot, but seems like you have to be in grab range to do it. Whereas with a shotgun idc about grab range because I know the zombie will be down after I fire once. And the leech covered zombie in the east hallway Floor 1... Lord...
I guess I just need general tips for this one. No story related ones, I want zero (hehe) puns. As this is the only RE game I don't know the story of. Besides its a prequel.

That is how I did it back on gamecube and on the remaster. Don't shoot at leech monsters, only use fire attacks. In the main hall there is a door to the left of the staircase. Don't bother going in there, nothing essential and you will be attacked by a leech monster.

I wanna play it, never owned a GameCube, and congrats on your runs! I could possibly get a great time on RE3, beat the game many times on psone era, now I would need to practice.
