No class is.
There are no "tanks" in destiny.
Every class takes the same amount of punishment, and in some cases the differences are miniscule.
The only form of "tanking" in this game may be a radiant skin warlock or an armor of light bubble Titan, but those are supers and are temporary.
"But Titans are tanks! They can max out their armor!"
And? It barely makes a difference.
In the Crucible, do you engage Titans differently because of their high armor? No. You're going to deal with them the same way you would any other class, because when it comes to HP, the classes are virtually the same.
The reason for this post comes from the complaints of Titan Skating. In which people are saying "Tanks shouldn't be the fastest."
Newsflash. They aren't tanks.

Are they tanks? No. Should they be? Probably. But Bungie was afraid to commit on the kind of defined class roles an MMO might have, so there's no helping it now that the framework is that all classes are essentially on par with each other. Titan skating is one of the dumbest things to pick as an issue. I'm sorry, meta snipers, that at the cost of sacrificing their ability to shoot the enemy isn't stuck being slow enough for you to simply scope in and kill them. Anyone with a shotgun can wait for them and shoot first and anyone with a primary and grenades can outplay them while they divert some of their concentration to patterning their lift correctly. People who don't play claw or a weird control scheme can't even skate on the best level possible. Did I mention people could just use a primary?

2 AntwortenMy no armor speed and recovery hunter dies very quickly in PvE, the Titans however just keep shrugging off bullets, don't know shah you're getting your info from

Until you go to shoulder charge a max armor Titan and he puts a shotgun in your face

3 AntwortenSomebody listened to the Planet Destiny podcast this week. Congrats. But no seriously, what hes saying is true.

Amen brother.

Couldn't agree more I certainly don't feel like a Titan tank when the same amount of hits take me out as they do my robe wearing warlock. Only thing that helps him is the RAM helm with void class providing a miniscule amount more armor.

How wrong, wrong you are child

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von xKCz: 8/1/2016 8:31:25 PMNothing in this game can move like a hunter can. We've all played against that guy who jumps around like a freak and spams Last Word. You can barely keep track of him as he melts you. Titans can move fast in a straight line, that's pretty much it. Hunters have got the best hops, and puts the others to shame in terms of movement.

"There are no tanks in Destiny." My landtank says hello.

Tanks can't ohk with shoulder charge. So I can agree.

Agreed. How do people mistake this ^^^^^^^ for a titan? Silly people.

HW Swords are tanks.
man this arguments is stupid. First what kind of tank are we talking here; passive, active, HP, regen, control, evasion, team or solo. Because I can name a subclass for all the previous. Second this game has so many ways to make any class a "tank", it almost makes it a losing argument; Sword gives extra armor (does it even need ammo to do so?) and provide an active shield (guard), Red Death provide health on a kill, Lord of wolves can (depending on players builds) max regen on a fireteam, Dragons breath cause mobs to run, and denies an area. Not even going to get in to armor perks. The game does not have tanks. It has high armor classes, high regen classes, high agility classes. All of which can fill the role of a tank, like they can all fill the role of healer or DPS. 'Nuff said
They're really meant to take ground more then be a damage sponge. Some of their moves are tanky but if you've ever played WoW (I've done my fair share of bear-tanking) you'll see a titan is far from a tank.

There are tanks in destiny. Go to the Divide. They have a few tanks there. Scrub, get rekt m8

Yo... I'm playing with a Titan this third year of Destiny, and yeah bro, this Titan like a tank with a well timed juggernaut. Shit kind of op, but, hey this what Bungie saw fit to be fair so. .... Fits my shotgun playstyle just right
and I just remembered I got a Twilight garrison too for a Kratos evade. Smh..... with a longbow.... Titan may become my main
Yr1: lock, sunsinging Yr2: Hunter, Gunslinging Y3: Titan, striking right now, my hammer just now being leveled up. And I don't think anyone wants to see me with defender. #havinfun

The problem isn't that Titans are too fast, it's that there's virtually no difference between classes besides supers.

Titans are garbage let em have the one thing that's not complete trash

I don't think they are necessarily tanks like people say. But I do think Titans are the closest we can get. You have a bubble super that can literally make you immune to damage, buff your armor and or weapon damage, an automatically generate orbs just by using the super. Another is the Fist of Havoc. You get shoulder charge which is almost a guaranteed one shot on typical guardians, you can have health regen for getting kills with shoulder charge and or your melee, juggernaut to become a rushing warrior, Iightning grenades which do a bunch of damage, reach pretty far, and last a decent amount of time, and to top it off a panic super that does a shit ton of AoE damage and has multiple options for perks to increase its effectiveness like the wave that travels forward or the damaging field that gets left where you smash. And hammers. You have a roaming super with multiple perks to not only increase the effectiveness of your hammers, but an option for abilities to regen health, an instant shoulder charge just by hitting RB while in hammers, and more. There is an over shield given and encompassing all three subclasses is Titan skating. You all say "agility and speed are different" but yet when I pursue a Titan as a hunter, or I'm being chased why is it Titans can outrun me or at least keep up? I'll have max agility with bones of eao and Mida multi took an they'll STILL keep up. So you might disagree but as far as I'm concerned Titans are the tanks of destiny. Not by sheer ability to take or deal damage, but by the perks and combination of perks available on each subclass as a Titan.

That defeats the entire purpose of being a bloody Titan. Class identity is practically in shambles nowadays. Titans are nimble, where the well-built stature and naturally lacking running speed would suggest otherwise. The grimoire suggests that Titans have the most armor plating of the three classes, the warlocks are practically all robes, and the hunters are a 50/50 mix. This is apparent also in the armor designs. I'm not arguing stats, I'm arguing lore. The fact that Titans can be so nimble is off-putting at the very least. The same used to go for the ability for ram-bearing warlocks to tank two body shots from low-impact sniper rifles. I don't know if they still can, but during HoW this was very prominent. So all in all, Titan skating may be feasible and OP does bring up decent points, we cannot forget that the lore of this game is, at the very least, supposed to intertwine with how the game plays.

A juggernaut Titan is a temporary tank.
