No class is.
There are no "tanks" in destiny.
Every class takes the same amount of punishment, and in some cases the differences are miniscule.
The only form of "tanking" in this game may be a radiant skin warlock or an armor of light bubble Titan, but those are supers and are temporary.
"But Titans are tanks! They can max out their armor!"
And? It barely makes a difference.
In the Crucible, do you engage Titans differently because of their high armor? No. You're going to deal with them the same way you would any other class, because when it comes to HP, the classes are virtually the same.
The reason for this post comes from the complaints of Titan Skating. In which people are saying "Tanks shouldn't be the fastest."
Newsflash. They aren't tanks.

Bearbeitet von autistic_lion22: 8/9/2016 2:19:25 PMHas anyone noticed while playing Destiny Beta or Alpha Titans actually needed more damage to be killed? I did, it took 3 melees to kill me or 5 to 6 shots from a hand cannon to the body to kill me as a Titan

Titans are toy tanks you buy at the store for a small price of all of your money. (WARNING) Bungie is not responsible for what they do with your money.
-
They aren't that kind of tank. They don't have more health, not by much anyway. They do, however, have abilities that allow them to survive more punishment then other classes. Juggernaut comes to mind.

1 AntwortenBro. We do have tanks. Red bar warrior sub class

Radiant skin warlock a tank? Negative Johnny.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von SactownNoob: 8/4/2016 10:11:23 AMI disagree. That SC also doubles as a damage reducer and combined with stat regeneration perks it can be a hammer. If I called it a wrecking ball or a construction worker (Because.....You know.....They build walls) would you feel better? Maybe you're dodging a nerf and to be honest I hate nerfs. They killed the game for me and I won't buy the DLC. So if that's what this is then agreed. But don't sit here and tell me you can't shake fusion grenades, damage or even use SC as a maneuver to evade or rush. Every other class that had an ability close to that has had it adjusted. Unjustly adjusted but adjusted anyway. Don't act like you don't understand why people say it.

1 AntwortenThe last time we gave Titans a subclass that let them be a tank, they were nerfed into oblivion.

2 AntwortenWell nobody likes the Titan class. Ever since day one. I think because in the early days the bladedancer was the most op special for almost a year. Funny how the sunbreaker was less then that. lol But bungie hates the titan class. They should just delete the class. Titans will never ever get any love. Talk to most of the youtubers that cover destiny. They hate it. I hated planet destiny ever since they came out with A "How to counter a sunbreaker class." Funny how that was the only "how to counter " video they did. I could be wrong. Bungie hates the titan class. All the new armor sets for the titan looks like they Half ass'd it on the design. None of it looks awesome. I main a titan by the way.

I think Titans of like ironman and war machine

2 AntwortenIn Destiny 2 I hope that changes, Titans need to be tanks.
-
Wether they're tanks or not.......WHO CARES?! this is pitty padding, its not worth the discussion. If its a tank its a tank if its not its not! Why dont you people put the same effort in something usefull like politics or health instead of a friggin computergame?!

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Isaac SLL S039: 8/4/2016 2:09:36 PMHere's all we are saying: Titans were made with the idea of being the class with most armor but a little slower. ( This is not debatable) hunters were made with the idea of being quicker/faster but having less armor (Again not debatable) So WHY is it that there is a very easy way for Titans to by a large margin. Be faster and quicker than hunters. The only point you have to your post is that maybe we shouldn't be using the specific term "tanks" because of what it means in other games. In which I say suck it up its called the 1st Amendment we can use whatever term we want. But back to the beginning, the PROBLEM is still there. No one cares about the wording. Edit: Let me also add that do you remember during the sunbreaker NERF era when people were like "don't NERF the armor, they are supposed to be tanks." Yeah, I do to.

5 AntwortenTechnically they're the only class that can max out the armor stat..
-
I can already imagine a scenario on the Shield Brothers strike where Nolandroid says "They brought a tank to a gun fight", only to have the doors open and reveal a Titan all by himself.

1 AntwortenThe Force Barrier setup makes you eat up a tether; I think there needs to be some sort of revision to at least Defender with No Backup Plans. Sun breakers prob the most balanced class in the game imo and strikers is only annoying because Fist of Havoc and everything on the rightmost tree. Skating is the only thing that makes Titans obnoxious to a point where it's hard to counter though. Most of the actual perks can stay the same so long as skating is tuned down a bit. This is just my opinion though you clearly think differently about the skating part.

My sunsinger is the true tank

Lore wise they're Tanks, for PvE they're more bulky. For PvP damage needs to be slated for fairness so that's doesn't count.

I will skate my tanky nuts over your face.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von Cowboybebop: 8/4/2016 4:56:20 AMIs the class called tanks or Titans?

Order 66 is active you'll better run but we'll find you

Bearbeitet von Mr. Balls: 8/3/2016 3:40:44 PMI both agree and disagree. While they can max out their armor and play kinda tanky, the striker subclass literally explains what it does. In soccer the striker is an offense position who pushes hard to connect a goal. The subclasses in destiny literally tell you how to play the subclass. If you play it differently, that's fine. But keep in mind that a striker Titan is going to "strike you" if they get the chance.

8 Antwortenfrom the Titan Defender grimoire "Defender Titans are immovable anchors, trained to absorb punishment and control the flow of battle. Armed with unflinching conviction and an armory of Void techniques, Defenders block the enemy's movements, shrug off their fiercest weapons, and rally fellow Guardians to strike back." Basically says "tank"
