So this YouTuber named Ohnickel made a video talking about a Hindu leader being objectified of a skin on Overwatch, it's Symmetra "Devi" skin, which portrays a Hindu goddess. This Hindu leader asks Blizzard to remove this skin from the game over the fact that we a "controlling" a goddess with controllers keyboard and a mouse.
I totally understand that it's a religious thing, but I don't see it as anything major, a few of my school friends are Hindu and they don't see anything wrong or get offended by this skin, even if Blizzard does listen to almost everyone, i don't think they will remove this skin if it's just offending one person who is seeing this as a big deal.
What do you guys think about this, and if you're Hindu and you find what's offensive, please explain it to me, because I wouldn't know myself

17 AntwortenJust look at it this way. What if one of the skins were Jesus and you controlled him where you could kill other opponents or be killed by those opponents. Would you be surprised by the guaranteed outrage by those in the states? Also just because some may not see a problem with it don't mean others might not be offended.

Obviously, their god doesn't have a problem with it. Boom.

people barely play symmetra any way lol

And this the problem with the internet. If it offends you by all means don't look at it. Don't play it.

4 AntwortenIf they had real balls, they'd give someone a "Prophet" skin. Until then, I will thoroughly ignore others opinions on gods and deities in video games.
-
I think people need to get over themselves. If they are offended that's their problem not the developers. Bunch of pansies we have in society now.

1 AntwortenAll I want is that if they remove it, I want 1000 credits back.

It's pixels on a screen... How are people offended by stupid crap like this.
-
Yeah they tried doing that to Hi-Rez/Smite over Kali and got nowhere lol
-
That kinda makes me mad. Why do video game companies have to bow their will to just a few people who are "offended" by some pixels on a screen? If I'm offended by something in a newspaper should I go to the newspaper company and tell them to recall all of that dates papers and destroy them? Just because I'm offended? People need to learn how to say no to stupid demands and if someone doesn't like it, so what?
-
I'm so done. It is a video game with a bunch of fucking pixels. None of it is real. There is no logical reason for an animated woman to offend him because of her appearance. If it actually offended his Goddess, then she would do something about it, but she hasn't. You know why? Because she either doesn't exist or it doesn't fucking matter. Pick one. I feel like people are more than a bit sexist these days too. Sexualize a man and nobody bats an eye. Sexualize a woman and everybody loses their minds.

3 AntwortenI don't care if jesus was in my game, i know it's just a game I made jesus in wwe 2k16, maxed out his stats and put him in several of my matches
-
It's just sad that society is governed by the lowest common denominators (AKA the idiots) and we have to go along with their delusions to 'keep the peace' so to speak.
-
2 AntwortenIt's just a video game. If their God doesn't want to be sexualized they can come down and fix it. Boom.
-
People are so easily offended these days, grow some balls
-
All i got from this was another religious person getting easily offended.

8 AntwortenIt was because it sexualized their god. Put a jesus stripper on stuff and yiu will piss off the christians Dont you remember the whole redcup starbucks thing? Yhea. So imagine sexualization of ones god
