Too many get away with cheating through bungies broken system. Opinions here, and let the moderators be pampered fanboys all they want. This is not a hate post

85 AntwortenNaming and shaming will not be allowed. First of all, it does nothing to prevent cheating. Second, it has a high probability of innocent players being harassed. We ban cheaters constantly. In game reporting is the best way to point them out. We have an online submission form in case you are unable to use that or have a video you would like to share.

5 AntwortenThat is possibly the worst idea ever. And there is a LOT of competition for that title on this site.

3 AntwortenNaming and shaming doesn't help Bungie determine who is a cheater and who isn't. All it really does is generate an emotional and angrily charged response by and toward members of the community. ---------- Now Hear Me Out :) ---------- Simply reporting players in-game allows Bungie to collect much more player-data (and therefore access to large number statistics) to be used by algorithmic identifiers which flag patterns displayed by players who are most likely to be cheating. If a reported cheater's data matches these patterns within a statistical degree of uncertainty, they are flagged as a cheater and the appropriate action takes place. Reporting cheating is still important to do! Not who, but how someone is cheating is most useful to Bungie because they need to be aware of any new methods of cheating and proceed to implement them into the algorithm as signs of cheating so they can identify more people doing it. I can see how it would be satisfying to name and shame because reporting cheaters in-game rarely (if ever) lets you learn the fate of who you reported, so it might feel that nothing is being done even though you *actually* provided loads of more useful information to Bungie so they can catch not only that cheater, but tons of other cheaters too. Thanks for listening, guardian!

8 AntwortenBearbeitet von RSebire: 7/20/2016 7:47:39 AMI've been banned 6-7 times standing up to toxic members of the community here I even got banned one year for wishing other users a Happy Christmass... The attitude of this generation is not what we where raised with. If we did something wrong we got a clip around the ear, nowadays the entitled youth/supposedly adults, with out punishment can't stand to see others punished as they never where. Sort of makes you feel sorry for them as it shows nobody ever really cared for them.... Anyway, naming and shaming is actually practiced in several states in the USA, if Bungie think they could hide behind their politically correctness BS, they'd be shown the jail house by the judge Reddit's where it's at. You can name and shame their all you want, plus many other things, like reasonable adults. I personally hate being quoted. Those that quote me do not have my permission to do so. So I tend to verbally attack them, to let them know of my displeasure. What comes around goes around after all. Adults in a childish world, that's Destiny all over Kind regards Richard (Ps I'm banned so I don't know if this message will even show)

1 AntwortenI'm with you but They'd have No players if they catered to the people that don't want cheaters.
-
1 AntwortenNo. Sorry, but griefers will use it to make innocent people miserable.
-
22 AntwortenI agree with you but my shameing is against sniper pussies an mida user an everyone who uses exotics or crutch things 2 win the game an its stupid ass hell along with red barring assholes or lagging pricks
-
7 AntwortenSeeing as how the most evidence you can accumulate during the course of playing a match is the informational equivalent to flat-earthers saying, "the horizon looks flat, so the earth is flat". Just because someone hits a lag spike at a convenient time doesn't mean they should have the community jump down their throat for it. Given how the distributed host system in Destiny works, I'm sure you think you see cheaters everywhere. When the lobby tries to switch from 1 person with potato connection to another person with a different kind of potato connection, boy howdy that must be cheaters in cahoots, or more likely lag because lag is a thing.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von catrodsan: 7/20/2016 2:36:19 AMNot for name and shame but if you cheat, even once, it should be a console, account or whatever else ban. Same as Overwatch. No warning just a ban.
-
7 AntwortenNo Firstly, people do it without posting videos. That's complete b s. You can turn the entire forums (and players) against someone with lies alone. I imagine this is one of the primary reasons for the rule against naming and shaming. As for videos, I've seen some people splice videos together to show something that didn't happen. Considering the "proof" videos are sometimes only 30-60 seconds long it wouldn't be that difficult to make it look like someone glitched or whatever.

24 AntwortenBearbeitet von PapaSubpar: 7/19/2016 7:19:46 PMMy only guess is that there could be liability issues. It is easier to not allow it, than to be sued. I think that somebody should start a Blacklist site though. Bungie can not do anything about it, if it is not on their site.
-
Name and Shame will not be allowed ever. It's been that was since Bungie.net started, and it will remain that way until the end of existence.
-
6 AntwortenThere should be a separate sub-forum for it, where Bungie can review the evidence. And, there should be one warning, followed by a forum ban for a subsequent violation, for posting "name and shame" videos in the wrong sub-forum.
-
1 AntwortenWhat makes it official ?
-
1 AntwortenTbh if someone cheats, make bungie label them as one in game with valid proof showing they cheated than some laggy ass game which can happen to anyone
-
1 AntwortenI would be happy to start with if Bungie actually showed evidence that they are doing something about cheating.
-
1 AntwortenIf someone is a proven cheater, they should only be able to play with other cheaters, wear an ugly shader, and an emblem that says cheater on it.
-
1 AntwortenWith p2p connections and all the angry teenagers who are super MLG pro destiny. The actual cheaters will sit back and laugh as all the innocent players with poor connection get shit on for "cheating"
-
2 AntwortenHow about we put dedicated servers on PVP and then they can monitor it Esp on Trials . Hell i'll even pay monthly Maintenance fee so they can baby sit that shit .
-
1 AntwortenIt's a bit too far you don't think ? We're all tired by cheaters and personally, I hate them more than a "you were killed by the architects" but... Dude, they can be "innocents" and you know how something like threat and harassment escalate QUICKLY with fragile people nowadays. If I say that they can be innocent it's because I experienced a full green team and green enemy team's where my fireteam seen a couple of laggers (teleport, kill late and all the stuff...) AND they seen us lagging too. I have some video for proofs. Even if we were All green ... I want more transparency about how many bans they made because it's a way to intimidate real cheaters or other person who have the intention.
-
I name and shame Godking Goblin because (inert made up story because you have an axe to grind against this poor chap). See what was done there ? Clearly old gallp is a great big NO for name and shame ;)
-
Name and shame I agree Plus I've just had MARIONBERRY 3 times in a row trying to long in... Name and shame away
-
5 AntwortenBearbeitet von loudenkl: 7/19/2016 7:47:07 PMI'm curious as to what other forum allows for name shaming? As far as I know name shaming is typically frown upon on any forum - at least the ones that I've visited over the years.. If you have cause to report someone for suspected cheating and you feel that the in-game system is broken - then use the reporting on the web site. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=13967 Given how toxic this community is - I don't think it would be wise to prompt an all out witch-hunt regardless of what you or others think they see or record or document.
-
I agree. If a person wants to cheat and they get caught. They need to pay for their actions. Everything has consequences Let's create a different forum and we can witch hunt all we want.
-
I agree but only if it's true if it's not thier fault cuase a lag glitch cuased them to be invisible when it's the games fault.
-
1 AntwortenI would like to see name and shame but I still think there should be certain rules so the person does not get harassed to a unfair extent
