An unnamed Wizard most likely. Omnigul was Crota's consort, whom gave birth to the Spawn of Crota. It's also explained in the Books of Sorrow that the Wizards are the mothers.

Look through the Calcified Frags, in one an exalted Hive (can't remember his/her name) cuts a Hive worm in half to create their Daughter, so maybe oryx cut a really ugly slug in half?
