To all Iron Banner Control players
1. The game is Control
2. The game is NOT Clash or Holy Shit I need to kill everything and ignore the zone!
3. Work as team, don't go all Rambo trying to take out the other team, meanwhile 1 poor schmuck is left trying to capture a zone.
4. Controlling zones increases points for kills, so yeah u get a 5 kill streak but lost every zone, not good.
5.Dont run by the zone 3-4 deep trying to improve that k/d while a person who actually is trying gets gang banged by the other team trying to capture a zone.
6. Don't teabag or dance when your team just got crushed, it makes u look like an idiot.
7. Feel free to check my stats, I'm mediocre at best but a team player, k/d means nothing it's all about the objective.
Most of all let's all have fun and hope every games a sweat fest! Peace
Also k/d does mean nothing if my team wins. A wins a win. Everyone takes things so seriously, I sense most that have commented are Allstars, my bad, I'm the 12th man at best.
I also see I'm being called a hypocrite for my posting. I've only played 9 IB matches because "surprise" I work. I've had 8-6-5-3-2-5 etc caps. So that's not enough? Maybe I'll go for 20 would that be better? I posted a truthful yet sarcastic list that some agree with and others call me a Dick or Whiner. No mercy in the Destiny forums. Lololol

Last edit: By reading some of the less than pleasant replies, reading comprehension must not be required in school anymore. The salt is strong with some. I'm not telling people how to "Play a game they paid for" I'm simply pointing out generally annoying things. You can seriously only hold 1 zone the entire time, and win, with entirely no incentive what-so-ever to capture another zone. I propose an example. The Dungeons. 6-man team controls C flag, other 6 man team control A+B. If the team only holds C, and places 2 people on each entrance leading into their spawn, they can stay holed up until the timer runs out, just killing everything that walks through the 3 doors. It's a good example, because it's entirely possible to completely lock a team out of your spawn. There is no reason to come out and take another objective, no reason at all. I consider this counter argument. "Yes there is incentive, capping more zones makes kills worth more points" While that is true, it won't do you any good if you don't have targets to shoot at, the enemy is holed up guarding the doors out of the sight of your sniper scope. Your only option in this scenario is to run in there and get them out, then the scenario repeats on the other side of the map because running in there initiates a spawn flip. I say holding both points on the map gives you 500pts a minute, in addition to the normal kill score bonus. If that isn't acceptable, then make it reduce the other team's score by 500 a minute. So that way the game moves from being able to sit and wait till the end, to more of a PTFOing type game. There's no way you can lose 500 pts a min, and be able to win, but i bet your ass gets out there and pushes the next objective. EDIT: Perfect example. 1 AntwortenThe issue is that controlling or capturing isn't worth enough points. Also all the bounties are kills related. I've had multiple games where I've had 8 caps and we still lost. It's CONTROL, caps and holding points should give points with or without kills.

Literally for a few games me and my friend dicked around the whole time, we found stupid spots and stayed there the whole time whenever we could "to protect our kds", we talked like batman and I called him captain, we both ran no land and another sniper and we kept doing the most dumb shit and it was super fun:)

It's was crazy how many times I caped b by myself...we are down n no one still caps...I can see if u push ahead to protect but yea nowhere to be found...yesterday was ok but today...rip

Monthly post is monthly. Check my warlock for control stats, I play objectively. But that doesn't mean I'm against people getting kills. Infact, I love ring one of a few actually capping. Usually the Rambos on my team keep me safe to cap.

The people who are really good at killing should do that while the worse people capture. Or even better just cap 2 and hold them. Nothing is worse than someone on ur team trying to triple cap all the time and screwing the team

One of the games earlier I think I had around 6 captures and close to a 2 kd. I know a lot of people don't like to try and cap zones or just don't understand it. Though it also does help playing with a half decent team.

If a person averages 30-40 kills And a 2.0+ kd in iron banner They're doing more than the person with 6 kills, 5 captures, and a .5 Go and win a game without getting kills. Oh wait, you won't. You need people slaying. Let the slayers slay, and the shit players cap OBJ's

Maybe there should be a timer, and if you don't capture a zone or spend at least 10 seconds in one every so often, you start losing points (the individual, not the team). Some people just have no brains.

The popular strategy seems to be the entire enemy team just rushing each control point, capping it, and then moving to the next.

That's because factors other than the amount of captures were involved in the final outcome. (In this case it was assists) The game is called control, not capture. Capping zones is important obviously but it's not the entire game. In an ideal perfectly executed match, the winning team would capture the first two control points and control them for the remainder of the game without losing them. That would mean at most a player would have 2 caps. (most likely however the team would split into two groups, then only one cap per person) However lots of caps means lots of control points were lost. And if control points are lost, most likely it's because there's no one alive near them to defend it. Killing others isn't necessarily important (definitely helps) but not dying is. And capping a point and running straight towards the next one isn't playing the objective either. Capturing a point, staying in the general area and actually controlling it, is the objective.

Capturing zones while playing control might have been what you wanted to do with your life, but I don't want your life! I'm just kidding. For some odd reason your post made me think of Varsity Blues. People are going to play any way they want so you should have expected some hate from a bunch of self entitled players. I'll be over here capturing zones and getting kills once I feel motivated to get on and play again. See you on the virtual battlefield guardian. Maybe?
