Why do legacy engrams cost so much?
Wouldn't it make more sense if stuff that is actually usable was more expensive?

I wouldn't mind spending 30 strange coins for a thorn since i missed out on year 1, even if the light level isn't relevant to year 2 and even after the nerfs, i still want it

4 AntwortenHere's how I see it.. Early on with TTK, you could in theory get two exotics for the price of the Year 1 legacy engram. Say there was a Year 1 exotic that you had not gotten and there was a Year 2 version of it that you wanted, you go and buy that legacy engram and get the missing exotic - now you can run down to the kiosk and buy the year 2 without having to spend strange coins. Besides - strange coins are pretty easy to get now and given the limited usages and / or offerings from Xur, what harm is there in spending 29 or 31 SC..

Now that has me curious as to how that pricing model would work if Activision owned Gamestop and you went in to purchase a "legacy console." Hmmm...

Legacy engrams are smart loot drops. You are pretty much guaranteed to get an item you do not have from them in Y1. It then unlocks the Y2 version in the kiosk of that item. Pretty useful if RNG hates you or you are a collector like me.

14 AntwortenGreat way to get high level gear. Once you hit 335 you can decrypt engrams at 335 to infuse other gear.

Y1 Exotics can only be earned with legacy Engrams, y1 raids, and sometimes lvl 28 poe. Y2 can be earned in Coe, true meaning of war, 3oc, kings fall challenges, and night fall. which costs more, a mint 69 Camaro or a new Camaro? yes the legacy car will have the higher price tag. and yes i know there are exceptions.

Ill pay the higher fee if/when Xurcses sells primary weapon engrams....gotta have that Thorn bro. I use it on my XB but want one for my PS4. I suppose if I didnt suck at pvp and even more so with hand cannons, I might actually get some hate mail when Thorning around. :)
