My psn account has been banned as a result of your complaint. F#ck you very much. May your arse be forever itchy and your arms too short to reach it.
TL, DR: - had a silly (but what i thought was innofensive) GT for ten years, someone reported it now lost all my data.
-Update from Sony,
"Thanks for your email.
Unfortunately all saved game data is linked to your online ID and will not be compatible with another account.
I fully appreciate your frustrations following the ban of your account, particularly with regards to to the time spent on certain titles however there will be no further assistance we will be able to offer you in this matter.
I am sorry there is no more I can do however if you have any other questions in the future, feel free to drop us a line."
Just wanted to add, I'm from Scotland. Where I come from fook is not deemed as an insulting or abusive term. It's actually used instead of the f-bomb in an almost comical way. This is what my GT was supposed to be, a little bit cheeky, a little bit funny. Some fair points have been raised below about how some parents etc would not like their kids seeing said GT and tbh I can't argue with that. I've been known as "fook" for ten years or so on psn and never had any issue until now but there you go. Suppose it just takes that one time. To the people who are saying I must be a total arse to be banned I can assure you this is not the case. I always strive to be helpful and considerate when gaming. I'd like to think anyone who has met me online would agree. During raids etc if I was in a group and someone needed help I'd gladly step up and explain the mechanics. If someone was getting a hard time in a group I'd be the first to back them up. I believe you do good things and good things happen. Feeling somewhat jaded about that mindset now mind you. Anyway, what's done is done. Who_the_fook is no more so time for a new GT and destiny grind. I'm not bitter about it, just wish I'd had the opportunity to change my GT without losing all my data. In perspective it's a first world problem and not anything that will affect anyone apart from myself so no big deal in the grand scheme of things.

So everybody, thanks for your comments and support. After many conversations with Sony though it became perfectly clear that they weren't going to budge on the matter regardless of what I said. After giving it some thought I've decided to stay with Sony and PS4, (for now) as all my purchases and gaming mates are on that system. I've started a new account and started the Destiny grind again. Seriously gutted about losing my data and some of the weapons and gear I have accumulated over the past two years but nothing else for it but to get on with it. Started a fresh Titan and got to level 37 after a few hours before having to go away for work for a few weeks. Hopefully my experience in the game should help me be more efficient with my time and get levelled up faster! We'll see. Just going to be hard being the "squishy" low level guy in the squad again! Anyway just wanted to take the time to say thanks to you all, see you around Guardians. War_Dog32 (Formerly Who_the_Fook)

1 AntwortenNot to start a console war... But I'd just switch to Xbox man. Microsoft would never let it come to the point where your entire account is banned because of your username. If your name is deemed unacceptable then they force name change it (using their random name generator) and you are stuck with that name unless you pay for a name change. But at least you keep your account
-
1 AntwortenWas your first reaction:"Who the fook reported me?!" ?
-
1 AntwortenHey, why is Sony like that? Microsoft at least tells you to change it and manually does if you don't. You keep shit, why can't sony?
This isn't a Master Console post, don't act like it.
-
Someone was probably just trying to be funny.
-
1 AntwortenI've heard of a similar situation where Sony sent the person an email offering them to change their tag or be banned. I find it hard to believe they won't let you change your tag.
-
1 AntwortenProbably a parent or something? In any case, surely pressure relieving colourlessness is the goal in naming, after ten years the joke must have worn thin.
-
3 AntwortenKeep calling them All my bud did was call them a few times and he was able to change his name and when he logged into Destiny all his stuff was there (minus some preorder stuff from Vanilla Destiny), he did lose some stuff from other games plus all PSN Trophy's tho His name was alot worse then "fook" Keep fighting Guardian

1 AntwortenEveryone report to Sony that SONY is offensive ... and if they say why ... well said its cause its offensive to us with a company that craps on its customers ... end of
-
2 AntwortenYou can apply to change the name
-
Only a pussy reports someone for the psn or gamer tag.
-
I didn't even know psn banns
-
Wow PSN is beyond stupid. If it were Xbox, they'd just force you to change your GT name. Get an Xbox, they have better online service and wouldn't screw you over like PS just did.
-
2 AntwortenI don't get why they can't let you change your name. Why ban you when it would create less fuss if you just had to change your name? Even more pertinent: why let you make a name that people might not like?
-
2 AntwortenAs far as I know, they're supposed to change the name themselves and give you the account with the new name. What ever happened to that?
-
1 AntwortenOut of curiosity what was your previous name?
-
3 AntwortenYou better continuously call Sony, they can't just get rid of someone account can they? Especially with the amount of money some people have spent on micro transactions in games??
-
6 AntwortenWhat do you plan on doing? Are you done with gaming, or are you going to "fresh start" everything? I would help you if you were going to fresh start but I'm on xbox.
-
Ive had a similar experience. My account got banned by Sony because apparently it was offending other people. Then why the fook would they approve my PSN in the first place. Makes no sense. But apparently my PSN: idontgiveapuck was offensive. Mind you, I play hockey so I thought it would be a fun name. Sincerely hope that the bastard who reported me and got me banned will die because of a disease. I feel you bro! Good luck in the future.
currently running a new account after I've called PS HQ (17 times) in Amsterdam, Capital of my country.
1 AntwortenI've seen GTs A LOT worse. UNBAN THIS MAN SONY!
-
3 AntwortenCan I ask, is it Sony or Bungie who banned you.
-
Fooking hell PSN fooked you over mate.
-
2 AntwortenI constantly see a guy in the Tower named ClitCommander (not exactly that). I'm amazed he's gotten away with that name for so long.
-
4 AntwortenF them. No sense of humour. I'm on Xbox and a Friend of mine had GT "Hughballsac" and got reported and Microsoft changed it to "swift calf" followed by random numbers. Muppets. MrFook will not be forgotten.
-
1 AntwortenYour gt isn't that bad... And it could've been worse. You shouldn't have lost all your data, but given a forced name change to something random, and then have to pay to change it That being said, PSN is meant for anyone who knows how to pick up a controller and start pushing buttons, no matter what age. It is totally possible that in another country (not just Scotland) your username was found offensive. (Or maybe you just kicked some trash in crucible, and a Butthurt teenager was looking for any reason to report you)

Bearbeitet von Sturm with no Drang: 7/11/2016 2:03:55 AMI'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you wouldn't have that same problem if you were on Xbox, but I am sure both consoles have players who are downright toxic/problematic
