It's a neat offer to celebrate Destiny's 2nd year and Bungie's 25th anniversary for giving to charity and for playing their games content. Your Moments of Triumph rewards are the 2 shaders and 2 emblems from the book, the shirt offer is optional.
I'm not sure if you guys understand what The Bungie Foundation does, but let me help enlighten you.
*prepares overused typical Destiny poster spoiler*
-They donated over 1,000,000$ that was raised through sales of the 'Pride of Nepal' shirt/shader sale to the Direct Relief fund.
-They granted over 30 Make a Wish wishes for ill children in 2015 alone, and they've been granting wishes since 2001. Ranging from room remodeling, top of the line spec gaming pc's, studio tours, and even a home DJ studio.
-The Bungie Foundation also has programs in partnership with Seattle Children's Hospital in where they provide iPads to the entire inpatient unit and the child specialists, providing iPad's to the Autism Center to help these children play games and connect with others, and upcoming programs oriented towards career and workforce preparation. (They are also partnered with 9 other organizations as well)
-All profits from purchases made in the Bungie Store in 2016, will benefit The Bungie Foundation to continue their efforts in helping children who are suffering by providing entertainment.
Now I've read quite a few posts with people saying some really nasty and snarky remarks about how it's a 'marketing ploy' to get your money because Bungie's greedy, blah blah, but I'm not going to point any fingers or call out names.
Instead, I hope the few of you who posted those comments read this, and really reflect on yourself and your character. This shirt isn't just a cash grab, its proceeds go to an awesome cause. It's a reward for those who have vested their time in Bungie's game who are willing to give their 30$ to these children who are unfortunate enough to suffer from terminal illnesses and handicaps. The best part is, is any profit from any purchase on the Bungie store on ANY item is going to The Bungie Foundation. But.. too many of you are too quick to jump to conclusions without researching the topic.
So before you go rushing around and spreading negativity, put a little thought into it. The world would be a much better place if we gave a little more to each other unconditionally. Consider this more of an incentive for a good cause. I hope some of you buy some Bungie loot, even if its only the 15$ pins. If they had a link open for a flat out donation, I'd still give.
I'll wear my Moments of Triumph shirt with pride knowing that my money went to a good cause, I may even buy more of the items I've been eyeballing knowing that the proceeds will be used in this manner.
Hope this clears some of these perceptions up. Who else will be acquiring the Triumph shirt or some Bungie merch to benefit The Bungie Foundation's cause?

5 AntwortenQuit complaint about donating to charity you know they are other people suffering from disease right know and other people who work in third world countries for a quarter a day you are complaining about donating to them because you think they will lie about donating money k loon that's not true because 1 bungie couldn't get away with pretending to. donate to charity and in the past they have done multiple make wish foundations and have been granting wishes which include in home dj studios and multiple iPads and game consoles for sick children and you don't even care if you really care sell all your stuff and go donate it for crying out loud.
but you won't sell your stuff cause you don't care
Well said OP. Fact is, bungie as a company is utilizing their resources to organize ours and help some folks out, it's a win win. You get something cool themed from a game you enjoy, and your cash goes to support some every sad but noble causes. In general, gamers are good/generous people. Don't get too upset with a few bad apples. From the amount that is sold out on the Bungie store after their announcement it is clear to me that the silent majority are not complaining, they are just donating and supporting the foundation with their purchases. Looking forward to ROI and will wear my MOT Year two shit with my GT proudly (while not at work).
-
2 AntwortenThank you so much for this. It's pretty sickening how toxic some people in this community are. They take any instance to attack Bungie in any way possible. It's sad really
-
Totally on point. Most likely wasted on the forum cretins here. Could not agree more!
-
1 AntwortenI'll get the shirt. Once I complete the MoT. It'll go perfectly in my closet along with this shirt http://www.thinkgeek.com/images/products/zoom/f3d9_lag_kills.jpg

4 AntwortenThe people who rage about bungie "making money" are nothing more than selfish, Bernie loving haters who are doing nothing with their own lives. I read the update yesterday morning, saw that the money goes to their foundation which I already knew does wonderful things for people, and I went straight in and bought one for my 11 yr old who hasn't finished his MoT just yet. Here's hoping many others will do the same.
-
While I personally wouldn't be caught dead in any of those shirts, the fact that people would be toxic about a charitable initiative is beyond my comprehension (unless the charity was a scam which this one is not).
-
I bought it for the intention of donating which everyone should have this intention of buying it (not stating you have to buy the t-shirt). We become legends in the game and in the real world because we are assisting those who are not as fortunate as many of us are. Don't take things for granted because the world is far more vast than just our own eyes can see.
-
Great post. Had my shirt ordered within a couple hours of the y2 MoT going live. Now paging down here and muting the haters.
-
1 AntwortenI prefer to donate directly so I can get a tax deduction. This is a way for bungie to get their tax deduction. There are other safer ways to donate.
-
11 AntwortenAny charity for sick children is a charity I can and will give money to..since I'm a father. The only reason I bought the shirt was for that reason.
-
6 AntwortenNot to be a jerk, but I haven't seen any posts pertaining to making fun of the Bungie Foundation. I don't think anyone here thinks that Bungie is as heartless as they seem to be. Just reading the Bungie Day post made me believe in the company even more. Props to Bungie and all they do. And props to you because I didn't know that the foundation did some of these things. I respect Bungie even more now.
-
1 AntwortenAnd I think people "understand" the deal as you so condescendingly put, they're just not as gullible as you, good day
-
Agreed, today's people are quick to judge... It's a business and of course they want money (all businesses want it) but that's not what the shirts are about. I bought 3 shirts yesterday, because that's what I have a job for, to buy whatever I want. People complaining are either broke or cheap or both. Gotta help the less fortunate!

6 AntwortenCorporations are not ethical. End of story. But they would.sure like the benefits of your perceiving them as ethical. This is the true reason behind corporations engaging in csr.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von GG ALLIN RIP: 7/8/2016 4:20:57 PMNice post. I'm guessing most of the people talking shit are most likely little kids that don't have their own money anyway, or didn't bother reading the full message; jumping to conclusions. Geez, then I read the comments below. Some of these people are cold as f-ck.
-
Thanks for posting. I bought one earlier, neat shirt that goes to a great cause. Even has my gamer tag which was a cool touch. It costs about $20-$30 for a shirt these days anyway, may as well put it to a good cause.
-
1 AntwortenI know that I will definitely want my shirt personalized and it still all goes to a good cause.
plus I've been eyeballing the ghost necklace and may consider picking it up. Is it a limited thing or is it a permanent item in the store?
-
7 AntwortenNo more $ $ $... if Bungie's involved, it will not recieve any of my money.
-
1 AntwortenBump, once I saw that, I bought the sun bro shirt, and once I finish my MoT, ill be buying the new shirt, I also sub on thier twitch which is a direct donation as well.
fuck im on my alt lmao
-
So the shirts are produced for free? The ink is supplied for free? Wow! Great Cause!
-
8 AntwortenI'm trying to order that shirt but don't know where I enter that code and right now it is saying the shirt will cost me 777,777. Some thing isn't right
-
7 AntwortenThe question is how much goes towards charity? If it is 100%, then I would do it.
-
4 AntwortenI love charities, I'm all for them. However I don't want to work hard to unlock the ability to BUY a shirt. The reward is stupid. Some people can't afford to spend $25 on a t-shirt. I myself don't have that problem. But I feel bad for those who play this game and have to spend money for something they worked at.
-
Bearbeitet von Anedime: 7/8/2016 7:04:18 PMI'm just a little pissy that the code applies to only one shirt, while I do understand why its done, it also extremely limits what I do with my shirt. I originally wanted to order two, one to wear and one to keep, you know? But now I"m just.... like... You try wearing a shirt that'll cost nearly 800 grand to replace if something happens to it... But to get back on subject, I find it hilarous that most of the people complaining the loudest over the shirt thing are people that haven't even earned the code yet.

40.00 freaking dollars is NO DEAL!
