It's a neat offer to celebrate Destiny's 2nd year and Bungie's 25th anniversary for giving to charity and for playing their games content. Your Moments of Triumph rewards are the 2 shaders and 2 emblems from the book, the shirt offer is optional.
I'm not sure if you guys understand what The Bungie Foundation does, but let me help enlighten you.
*prepares overused typical Destiny poster spoiler*
-They donated over 1,000,000$ that was raised through sales of the 'Pride of Nepal' shirt/shader sale to the Direct Relief fund.
-They granted over 30 Make a Wish wishes for ill children in 2015 alone, and they've been granting wishes since 2001. Ranging from room remodeling, top of the line spec gaming pc's, studio tours, and even a home DJ studio.
-The Bungie Foundation also has programs in partnership with Seattle Children's Hospital in where they provide iPads to the entire inpatient unit and the child specialists, providing iPad's to the Autism Center to help these children play games and connect with others, and upcoming programs oriented towards career and workforce preparation. (They are also partnered with 9 other organizations as well)
-All profits from purchases made in the Bungie Store in 2016, will benefit The Bungie Foundation to continue their efforts in helping children who are suffering by providing entertainment.
Now I've read quite a few posts with people saying some really nasty and snarky remarks about how it's a 'marketing ploy' to get your money because Bungie's greedy, blah blah, but I'm not going to point any fingers or call out names.
Instead, I hope the few of you who posted those comments read this, and really reflect on yourself and your character. This shirt isn't just a cash grab, its proceeds go to an awesome cause. It's a reward for those who have vested their time in Bungie's game who are willing to give their 30$ to these children who are unfortunate enough to suffer from terminal illnesses and handicaps. The best part is, is any profit from any purchase on the Bungie store on ANY item is going to The Bungie Foundation. But.. too many of you are too quick to jump to conclusions without researching the topic.
So before you go rushing around and spreading negativity, put a little thought into it. The world would be a much better place if we gave a little more to each other unconditionally. Consider this more of an incentive for a good cause. I hope some of you buy some Bungie loot, even if its only the 15$ pins. If they had a link open for a flat out donation, I'd still give.
I'll wear my Moments of Triumph shirt with pride knowing that my money went to a good cause, I may even buy more of the items I've been eyeballing knowing that the proceeds will be used in this manner.
Hope this clears some of these perceptions up. Who else will be acquiring the Triumph shirt or some Bungie merch to benefit The Bungie Foundation's cause?

5 AntwortenEveryone should watch the movie 'Poverty, Inc.' It shows how the whole charity system is corrupt and actually keeps people poor than help them.

2 AntwortenIf anyone doesn't want there code please pm me

5 AntwortenI'm not sure why someone just spent hours writing something that can be explained in one sentence. Don't buy this shirt. $30.00 for a t shirt is a rip-off.

Bearbeitet von Moosie: 7/10/2016 12:44:43 AMIt was thoughtful of you to post this. I'm not gonna make any conclusions on the percentage of donations to profit, and whether it's only $1 for each purchase, I'm just glad their donating period. :)

If you dont like this at all about bungie donating or dont believe and wont support it. Dont play destiny, get of bungie.net go away and never play any games made by bungie. Simple as that, me ill comtinue to play because i believe in bungie's act. You may not but i do. I could care less about someone whos always upset with good people because of some jealous behavior tgey have with people more fortunate through their successes.

1 AntwortenI don't get a box to be able to enter my discount code
-
3 AntwortenProbably gonna get mine because: 1- it looks -blam!-ing awesome and not like some walking advertisement. 2- feels great that I earned it 3- It's only $10 more than some normal shirt I would buy at Kohl's or whatever 4- It goes to charity. Rather give $30 to charity for a shirt that $20 to a not charity.
My one question is should I put
wildgringo
(my real gt) or
Wild Gringo
Any thoughts?
1 AntwortenAhh another charitable donation so they can claim 80% of it as overhead! Well done you guys! Not only did you fail to actually help the disaster victims, you paid some company to pretend like they did! But they look great in those new suits right? Jesus guys, take 10 minutes to look up what donating to these idiots does. There isn't a charity in the world that deserves your money unless the person is standing right in front of you. Help the homeless, give money to a kids hospital, just stop giving business men your money. You're being stupid

The whole 100% proceeds donated to charity thing is awesome don't get me wrong that's very nice of Bungie. But they could've gone about it a little bit better. First of all as a troll they made the shirt 777 thousand dollars and in order to bring that price down to retail $24.99 you have to complete moments of triumph for a "discount"... Explain to me though how retail price is considered a "discount"? They should've made the code useable on any product in the Bungie Store and all proceeds go to charity. Or hell just unlock the shirt only for people who have completed moments of triumph. Don't put a ridiculous price tag as a troll and then say to bring that price down to retail price go complete moments of triumph and then you'll recieve a discount code... Like wut, how is payong retail a "discount" -.-

3 AntwortenIf true Bungie can prevent a lot of the negativity on misconceptions by having stronger communication to the community that this is for charity. Also stronger communication on how much is going to charity (all?) and for which ones. Not everyone reads the forums and even less read it in detail.

3 AntwortenBro, not only is the shirt freeging boss looking BUT IM DONATING MONEY TO HELP DAH LITTLE GUARDIANS...BUNGO FCK YEAH!!!

2 AntwortenRegardless of how much the foundation actually puts forward into actual causes to some of us that is a nice side bonus. Gaming T-shirts from studios usually cost more than your average T-shirt (20 dollars avg) so the price point isn't too far off. So if one likes the shirt and has the money I see no issue with them purchasing the t-shirt. To everyone saying it sucks as a bonus for all your MoT, there are 4 other bonuses- way more than last time. Just because you may not like the shaders doesn't mean that you're entitled to something better. The first MoT reward was ONE stinking emblem. Zero Choice. So this year offers an improvement in my opinion.

1 AntwortenSo what you're saying is to get the t shirt I have to hand deliver $777,777,77.77 to starving Africans???

1 AntwortenI'm just going to laugh when someone buys the shirt for 8,000

2 AntwortenWhy the hell is there a shirt for $777,777?? Is what I don't understand. That's the shirt I want too lol

Honestly i'm buying one for the cause only cause* the community continues to think it has to do with bungie spending our money on stuff, it's not like that. I do not support bungie, but i do support their ideas.

1 AntwortenI just wanted another shirt for when I go to gaming cons is all...

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von TomDR93: 7/9/2016 9:43:53 AMI happily paid for the t-shirt, glad the money's going to a good cause, no ragrets.
not even a single letter
1 AntwortenI would buy the shirt if I had the money. I did just buy the soundtrack though! I will happily spend money I don't really have as long as it goes toward a good cause.

1 AntwortenOk, so its a discount thing, thanks for the info

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Erijian: 7/9/2016 7:12:05 PMIt's weird. When the Nepal Aid stuff was going around, I don't really remember any complaints about getting items for donating or how Bungie is trying to "cash grab". Bungie does something with the same idea on Bungie Day, and all of the sudden it's a massive cash grab because of that 7-7 Ad Infinitum Emblem.
We're not DIRECTLY PAYING for an emblem, you're getting the Emblem (And a physical item) FOR DONATING.
Bearbeitet von RagingPheonix00: 7/9/2016 7:08:24 PMI want to know the exact charity details, I would rather send the whole $30.00 to them instead.

Take my comment as negative, but only Bungie employees should post regarding such things. You are a Bungie employee, if so please clarify the exact amount thats going to Charity. If not, then don't post incorrect information on the forums.

2 AntwortenWhy do people who play destiny everyday hate bungie so much lol. If you hate them quit playing/buying there games
