It's a neat offer to celebrate Destiny's 2nd year and Bungie's 25th anniversary for giving to charity and for playing their games content. Your Moments of Triumph rewards are the 2 shaders and 2 emblems from the book, the shirt offer is optional.
I'm not sure if you guys understand what The Bungie Foundation does, but let me help enlighten you.
*prepares overused typical Destiny poster spoiler*
-They donated over 1,000,000$ that was raised through sales of the 'Pride of Nepal' shirt/shader sale to the Direct Relief fund.
-They granted over 30 Make a Wish wishes for ill children in 2015 alone, and they've been granting wishes since 2001. Ranging from room remodeling, top of the line spec gaming pc's, studio tours, and even a home DJ studio.
-The Bungie Foundation also has programs in partnership with Seattle Children's Hospital in where they provide iPads to the entire inpatient unit and the child specialists, providing iPad's to the Autism Center to help these children play games and connect with others, and upcoming programs oriented towards career and workforce preparation. (They are also partnered with 9 other organizations as well)
-All profits from purchases made in the Bungie Store in 2016, will benefit The Bungie Foundation to continue their efforts in helping children who are suffering by providing entertainment.
Now I've read quite a few posts with people saying some really nasty and snarky remarks about how it's a 'marketing ploy' to get your money because Bungie's greedy, blah blah, but I'm not going to point any fingers or call out names.
Instead, I hope the few of you who posted those comments read this, and really reflect on yourself and your character. This shirt isn't just a cash grab, its proceeds go to an awesome cause. It's a reward for those who have vested their time in Bungie's game who are willing to give their 30$ to these children who are unfortunate enough to suffer from terminal illnesses and handicaps. The best part is, is any profit from any purchase on the Bungie store on ANY item is going to The Bungie Foundation. But.. too many of you are too quick to jump to conclusions without researching the topic.
So before you go rushing around and spreading negativity, put a little thought into it. The world would be a much better place if we gave a little more to each other unconditionally. Consider this more of an incentive for a good cause. I hope some of you buy some Bungie loot, even if its only the 15$ pins. If they had a link open for a flat out donation, I'd still give.
I'll wear my Moments of Triumph shirt with pride knowing that my money went to a good cause, I may even buy more of the items I've been eyeballing knowing that the proceeds will be used in this manner.
Hope this clears some of these perceptions up. Who else will be acquiring the Triumph shirt or some Bungie merch to benefit The Bungie Foundation's cause?

1 AntwortenAlso for people that aren't aware, you get the emblem when you buy ANYTHING in the Bungie store by the 13th, it doesn't have to be the MoT shirt. My brother bought the soundtrack and got the emblem with it.
-
5 AntwortenWithout completing the MoT can I still buy the shirt?
-
2 AntwortenI just don't like they tied our reward for MOT to real money I'm all for donating to good causes. I just think it's not a good way to do it
-
12 AntwortenSo I had everything done except the exotic Sword. I just competed all steps up to the part where now I need to wait for arms day. Come Wednesday I'll complete the final strike. Will I still be able to get the deal, shirt, and emblem code come Wednesday night??
-
16 AntwortenI think a majority of people can understand the MoT t-shirt deal just fine!! at least, I did. tell me how much sense it makes for anyone to agree to donate to a cause, through a middle-man. that's what Bungie proposes to be doing. if you really want to help someone out, find a way to do it. directly. for the amount they are asking for, you get a shirt. that includes the cost of the shirt that they will take back. most likely, this is an opinion, a smidgeon more for being the middle-man, and shovel the rest off to donate. you could give 100% to a charity yourself, unless you really want the shirt. then you could go to their store and buy one. ideas. think of a cause that you would support. take the money you were going to buy the shirt with, write a check for that amount, and mail it to them. for example; homelessness. go to a homeless shelter, ask to speak with the person in charge of donations, and give them your check. don't forget to ask for a receipt. your donation is tax deductible. Bungie wants to make even more money off of your donations by claiming the tax return. shame on them.

Best reason to get a shirt? So you can sell it on ebay a year later for a hundo :D
-
2 AntwortenI personally purchased the shirt - like some others have said you do get a nice healthy discount lol - but the only issue I honestly have is with the marketing behind it... I totally get they made something special for us and to celebrate year 2, but that was kind of tucked behind a "discount" and who the heck isn't going to take a bite on that? Not saying it's a bad thing whatsoever because you're donating to charity it's just kind of a sly way they did it. Definitely looking forward to the shirt though and the emblem you receive is pretty dope

1 AntwortenBought the shirt but loathe subbing on twitch. No chance
-
1 AntwortenJust got back from China, and I had no idea any of this was happening. (Thanks limited wifi) So glad I had all of these done already.
-
1 AntwortenI bought the shirt because it was a good deal. I saved over 700K on that bad boy.

Bump for later

1 AntwortenWhat I don't get is why this community can be so toxic toward something they are NOT forced to buy. For the people that want to donate, this is a great opportunity, for everyone who doesn't, STOP BEING HATEFUL ABOUT IT!
-
I just don't want to spend 25$ on a shirt... If you can't tell I don't go clothes shopping all to often
-
Bearbeitet von Firestorm 8570: 7/10/2016 12:18:01 AMI don't understand what everyone is complaining about, its a t-shirt.... and you don't have to buy it... I bought it because its a cool t-shirt and i can have my gamertag put on it, its a nice reminder of my hardwork and cant i do what i want with my own money??! and the foundation donation is a bonus that i'm pleased to contribute to.
-
5 AntwortenOnce you use the discount code, how much is the shirt?
-
Im grabbing one cause they look fn cool. Also Im all about donating for great causes
-
Bearbeitet von Janus-073: 7/11/2016 9:01:57 PMI agree with you. I plan to purchase one just to support the Bungie Foundation. And I'll keep it incase I ever invade/make it to a DestinyCON.
-
Very good info! True Guardian out there!
-
Don't have all the moments of triumph but idc, I bought a neat shirt off their site and was stoked to get the free emblem too
-
I just purchased the MoT shirt for myself, can't wait.
-
3 AntwortenI am personally angry that it is 30 dollars. I would love to donate to a great cause but I feel 20 dollars would have been better for someone like me who is someone who can't afford to throw money around. I love the game, love the charity work they do, but 30 is just too steep man.
-
1 AntwortenWhat if some rich guy is a destiny breh and buys the shirt at full price O.O
-
5 AntwortenEveryone should watch the movie 'Poverty, Inc.' It shows how the whole charity system is corrupt and actually keeps people poor than help them.
