Son kicked for being a kid
Let me start by saying this is not a rant or a crying session. I get off work today, ask my 3 boys how their day was. My 13 yr old tells me he put a group together and flew a fire team into his oryx checkpoint. One of the "mature"adults tells my son to hand over fire team lead, so my son being a gullible pre teen he happily surrenders the lead. He then gets kicked from the group for being a kid. I understand a lot of people prefer not to play with children ( myself included ,except of course my children). I get it. This person knew my son was a kid when he joined the party. To me, this is a bit below the belt. He's not upset, neither am I, we both just kinda laughed and shrugged it off.
Let me say my son has many oryx clears, he's better at the raid than many of the people I've played with (reaction time of a 13 yr old is crazy, makes me feel old watching him lol). I guess my point is, you don't want to play with kids, cool nothing wrong with that. Just don't be a prick and cheat your way to a checkpoint by stealing it from a kid, then kicking the kid. Helped some kids with oryx challenge that have never beat oryx let alone challenge. They were so hyped when we did it. Back on topic. That's -blam!-ed that he he did that to your boy. Proof that some adults are more immature than kids sometimes.

Not going to lie, more then half of the kids I play with aren't that bad. It's a stereotype that kids are annoying in games and it's a fact, but using a kid and bullying him is wrong.

I don't enjoy playing with kids because... they're kids... but what you described is more childish and immature than any adult should do. That individual should have their adult license revoked. For those adults who enjoy playing with random kids 'cause they're good, I think you're weird. For me, it has nothing to do with skill, it's just a maturity/social comfort thing. Not all teens/kids are annoying, and many are quite skilled, but I would still rather play with someone I would feel comfortable hanging out with in real life without worrying about having the police called on me. Also with folks of similar maturity. Just saying.

I started playing Destiny when I was 14 (15 now), I was a god at trials in year one. Top 1,000 for a bit, and I would carry. Go flawless 3 times a week all on Friday. Then I would help others who weren't as good, and just let me say I played with some older guys who would kick me when they heard me, or they would tell me after they went flawless that they weren't sure about me and we just laughed about it. Age means nothing in the grand scheme of things, kids can be smarter than adults, adults can be smarter than kids. Age is just a number. And don't get me started on maturity, I have plenty of adult friends on xbox and damn do they whine a lot.

Yup, sounds like that dick, jacked his fireteam. Scumbag move for sure. If he does not like running with a kid, he should have just split. Hopefully your kid learned from this. Never hand over lead from your team.

Edit: For those of you saying the kid shouldn't have been playing the game due to his age, get the -blam!- outta here. You are acting like he is allowed to play Grand Theft Auto. Destiny might be rated T but that doesn't mean it is [b]just[/b] for teens. Destiny is tame compared to most other shooters out there.

4 AntwortenFlew into a raid yesterday with a kid who said he had totems CP, then tried to get us to do daughters and Oryx which we were at. We switched fire teams by joining on someone who switched char, no 'passing leader'. We kicked the kid when he wouldn't allow a second of silence without chattering, and complained about other fire team members. Timing works out, and the story is similar enough that the details are things a kid would change when attempting to tell a sympathetic version of the story to their dad. If you check his game history and see me... he was not behaving like a player who would be a cooperating raid finishing player. If this is indeed the situation, we picked up another kid (and had a clan member of high school age with us all along) who was fine, cooperative, and we got him his first ever hard Oryx kill. Hopefully your kid wasn't the one originally in our fire team. If so, sorry guardian, he left out some major details and changed others. Kids will be kids though sometimes. None of us were mean to him, just kicked and moved on, so at least there's that.

Raids/strikes/prison of elders, etc and we can probably be more mature then adults. I'm just a laid back 14 year old how does RAGE on a party apparently you guys have to be idiots about it ! my voice is as deep as my fathers and I bet as deep as you lot so if you want to hit me up on Xbox live you won't have to deal with it ! Anyone who says kids aren't mature and adults are. Well if you're complaining about someones voice who is trying to help you is bullshit. That shows that anyone who can't sit through a sqeaky voice for ab hour or so is a little bitch and should boot themselves from the fireteam
