I miss returning to orbit after your fireteam died it made things difficult and hard and required teamwork now kids are complaing about drops from a nightfall that is easier then baiting a hunter in to crying nerf.
Thanks for the great comments guys. Good to see some year one players still around on the forums.
I made a mistake saying it was harder in year one. I really just worded it wrong. The reason for me it was " harder" in year one was because when you got sent to orbit because of a little mistake it was degrading and made it so much longer and more frustrating causing more mistakes. The actually difficulty of the strikes was easier in year one with a few exceptions.

Me and I miss the reward too

Nightfalls were never hard. I use to solo them like a weekly strike.
-
It wasn't more difficult in year 1, but it was more fun. It was the one time you felt like you had power of a legend. Now it feels like we've got pea shooters. The rewards are awful. If they would just bring the buff back, I'd be happy.

1 AntwortenWhat drops in the nightfall now? I can't remember the last time I ran it.

I don't care about nightfalls anymore. I would do nightfalls every week x3 if the sexy flaming heads came back

If returning to orbit is the only thing that made them difficult then they weren't done right in the first place. Most players would camp/cheese during nightfalls because of fear of dying, and i mean that's fine, who really cares if that's how they wanna play, but it set the tone pretty early on. I don't think they're any easier than they were before, it mostly depends on the modifiers, but just because there's no fear of having to start them over/going to orbit doesn't detract from the difficulty. It just changes the mindset for a lot of players when the circumstances change. Instead of hiding/cheesing their way through, they can actually just go and play it as it was intended. There's a difference in playstyle when you have "sent back to orbit" in the back of your head vs. simply respawning.

There's no reason for NF, heroic strikes are better, have active mods, matchmaking, and still drop 335 items, BOOM... That's a mind FOCK

4 AntwortenThe problem with nightfalls aren't the difficulty. its the rewards. Why bust your butt doing something for no reason. The 10% buff was good enough for me to do it. but now? nah! I can get more accomplished doing patrols.

nightfalls only were difficulty the first few weeks of destiny and the only reason why it was hard is: you were underleveld! i read some post and the only thing i thought...they are really year one player? i mean you had primary burn weapons, so much cheese points in every strike, you had ghjallahorn/icebreaker (later black spindle... nearly unlimited ammo, you remember) and at nearly every strike there was a burn active, they make it mutch more easier. are you remember...: nexus with solarburn? completed in 5 minutes :D but don't understand me wrong, yeah the strikes was awesome, but at the end of year one boring to. the problem is the same as in the end of year one, strikes are overplayed and thats the reason why you think they are boring and easy.
-
Year 1 was sit in the back with black hammer after Gjallahorn spamming. If arc or void. Do the same but switch to a different element sniper. If your aim was terrible you could do with Ice Breaker. I solo the nightfalls now and I'll go ahead and say they're more difficult with the Taken in place and modifiers in place such as Trickle. This is from a soloers perspective. I know as a team, its usually just a matter of focus and not making stupid mistakes.

So just return to orbit each time you wipe if you miss it so much. No one's stopping you. I dont miss the cheese invested year 1 nightfalls. Difficult my ass. Year 2 nightfalls are much better.

Bearbeitet von SherbetShiba: 7/7/2016 11:51:38 AMNightfalls used to be easier imo especially with burns...we used to do triple damage but now we only do double

the only reason to do a nightfall nowadays is for the vanguard rep. the rewards are nonsense and the challenge non-existing. it's just a chore to do nowadays, which is why I don't bother.
-
Yes,year one was the best.
good ol day!
-
I agree the kick to orbit made he old nightfallls challenging . They were and still are mostly people looking for and using cheese to avoid the actual mechanics. Solar burn shield bros was the easiest strike I've ever done once I was shown black spindle and the cheese spot. Nightfallls are still challenging you just don't go to orbit. Plus now so many people are overpowered at 330+ making it seem even easier.

1 AntwortenI miss all old strikes. Those for nightfall were difficult.

I'm happy those days are over. The exp was good, its better now. Rewards still suck and isn't worth spending more then 20 minutes on. Year 3, they should make nightfalls have weapons and armor that drop specifically through the nightfall. So it will make doing it more worth it. But make the drop rate high, so after 6 weeks, you have a full armor set and a badass weapon.
-
I remember the days around the initial 2014 release after completing a NF and you realized 2 hours have gone by lol
-
8 AntwortenThey are still the same difficulty wise. Returning to orbit on wipe doesn't equal difficulty. If you are so caught up about not returning to orbit, maybe next time your fireteam wipes, manually go to orbit.

Who remembers when nightfall actual had decent rewards...

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von crispaholic: 7/7/2016 10:27:16 AMSepiks week one...then kinda meh lol.

3 AntwortenNexus with void burn! So many bad memories. I don't feel proud of myself when I beat the nightfall anymore.

3 AntwortenYou mean the first 3 weeks of destiny? It became easy as soon as you were able to be a somewhat close level to it, or as long as you had weapons for each burn.
