So I was grinding out some IB the other night, it was late, like 4am kinda late. All my friends had long since gone to bed. As usual you would win two or three in a row then loose one or two, etc...
Then I had a fireteam of 4 join in on my team and I was like "alright! Sweet, lets go!"
But things didn't get off to a very good start, the other team shot out to 2200 whilst we were languishing on 800. A quick check confirmed it, we were vs a full team of six....and they were pretty good.
Now I don't know about any of you, but I don't panic when this happens. Dig deep, pull it back and if you can get the win, it's only all the more satisfying.
The fireteam of 4 quit....ofcourse.
Not 30sec later they joined again, only to quit again as soon as they got in. I reported them all for quitting early, for all the good it will do, but then the other random on my team quit also.
The score at this point was 6250 vs 1200. No way to win, nothing to loose I just start working on that solar grenade quest step that's been sitting there forever, as I always run arc on my titan.
So a minute goes by and as I am trying to find someone to throw a grenade on I get a message.
"Good on you for not quitting. If your trying to get bounties or quest steps done, we'll be in the middle."
WTF!!! Was my first thought. Are they serious?
So like a scared little rabbit, I cautiously work my way around the middle, checking for any traps or surprises. But low on behold, there they were, all grouped up at 'b' , some just sitting, a couple dancing, just.....waiting.
So I make my way over and they all send out a wave and or various emotes.
I send another message asking if they'd mind if I get my solar grenade kills done.
Response was "Whatever you want"
Stunned I must've just stood there for at least 10sec just trying to process this.
Message - "hahaha, c'mon man, your wasting time"
Fair enough - grenade!
So as I throw nades down , they all start dancing. Respawn wherever, run back and start dancing again. By the time the match ended, with recharge times and what not, I had gotten 13 grenade kills. That extra 10 sec really would have made a difference, lol.
The match ended, I sent one last message "thankyou so much, that was awesome"
Response - "not a problem "
For only the 2nd time I reported people for being friendly and helpful. And my belief in there still being some awesome people out there was restored in full.
That will no doubt go down as my most memorable game of IB ever.

1 AntwortenLol. That's pretty cool. Did you get a Reaper medal ;)

1 AntwortenThe match starts off like normal, On Black Shield with everyone rushing to the centre room. The enemy win the encounter and take the lead while someone on our team leaves. Fast forward a minute or two and I'm by myself 1v6. Slowly but surely they push the lead even further, taking both heavies then systematically killing me over and over with LMG's. 3:30 left and the score is 4000-7500, then all of a sudden a team of five join in. I've seen them before in IB in which they absolutely decimate (Like win matches before heavy shows up) and I thought to myself" If anyone can win this it's them" Sure enough we start catching up, 5500-8000....7000-8500....8500-9000 and now we're in the home stretch. I can't believe what I'm seeing, we actually caught up and were on the verge of winning this. The last fight is in the centre room and Supers start flying everywhere, Hammers, Nova Bombs, a Bladedancer or two and me spamming my Solar grenades everywhere. After it was said and done, we were victorious 10000-9630 with 5 seconds remaining..... I couldn't believe that that actually happened and was glad I choose not to leave. Got a message from two people on the team that joined that just said" We got ya mate and Here to save the day" Greatest IB match I have ever had. No rewards though but who cares lol

My most memorable game of IB was when someone killed me with the husk of the pit. That was awesome.

I had the same problem, but I was up against a fireteam of five and some rando. The fireteam invited me to their party so we could talk, and we were trying to coordinate a way for me to get some bounties done, but the one guy that wasn't in their fireteam was some tryhard with no chill who kept shotgunning me. Long story short, the five of them ended up encircling my striker Titan so that they blocked all the shots as I sat in the middle, then when the guy tried to come up and shotgun me, I used FoH and got a free 6 kills medal (forgot the medal name). Best game ever

1 AntwortenHonestly, that's what I call a cool story bro. Such a riveting tale, I honestly copy and pasted it to word, saved on my hard drive, backed it up on a jump drive, drove to the bank, put the jump drive in the safe deposit box, and will leave it there until my kids turn about 12 (when they can actually state their age, and ask what it is I'm showing them), when I will pick it up, put it in an old USB drive reader and relay this cool story to them and tell them, "kids, this is what a cool story should look and sound like...not like the stories your generation tells".

Bearbeitet von WickedNavajo: 7/7/2016 3:00:22 AMI remember playing a game of Skirmish a few weeks ago doing part of that million-year-long Crucible quest. Everyone but one person on the other team quit, and all four of us spent the rest of the game just dancing or sitting with each other.

8 AntwortenOne time i played a match with no lag....was pretty cool. Should have recorded it.

Bearbeitet von cobaltcrimson1: 7/6/2016 11:16:11 PMSeeing the server go all weird last week and booted folks all at once in the middle of a match and one IB where we landed and the other team never materialized. We just stood there until the game realized the issue and sent us to orbit. The last one is the first time I came in at the top of the winning team with a good k/d.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von BlackCorona07: 7/6/2016 9:06:54 PMHad almost the same but I was in the full team The only guardian left in the other team was fighting against us alone for that he had my respect but than I checked him... 303 light and 1200 grimoire I usually shit on grimoire but as I saw that hes new to Destiny and already has to deal with shit like that I felt even more sorry for him. So I added him and we play together daily now Its great to play with new players and for me to play with someone whos not speaking my native language (german)

4 AntwortenThe only thing I took from this post was in the first paragraph you said loose instead of lose. I can't get over that and I stopped reading.

That is awesome!

2 AntwortenThis has probably been one of my least favorite IB due to matchmaking. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to go on a huge loss streak when you need one more win to hit rank 5 and it's an hour before weekly reset. (Sadly didn't have enough time for my PS4 account D: ) I did have one pretty fun match though. I flew in, figuring I was joining a game in progress since there were no other ships. It turned out I was put in a brand new match 1 v 5 on Vertigo. (this map and Exodus Blue kept popping up to my distaste) I decided to just try to pick them off one by one, but as I was trying to bait a guy with my shottie, I found out he was just sitting there. So I just joined him and chilled. :p One of his team mates came and killed me then bagged me, haha.

Two memorables: Was on Widow's Court post TTK release, during the first heavy round I ran up to the opposing team grabbing heavy near C -I was a Striker Titan. I kid you not NONE of them bothered to back away from me using my super and I got the whole team without getting downed afterwards! I even have the medal to prove it. Second was my buddy getting his first Ghjallarhorn in such an epic fashion. Back in Y1 before DB DLC right before the match ended he went on a 10 kill spree, got our team Mark of the Wolf or whatever medal, and got MVP overall... then in the reward screen he got his first Ghjallarhorn :).

That's great :) why can't we have more of this? Friendly gaming! Come on people :D
-
My favorite IB moment. 36 kills, 5 captures. Still lost. I literally received no reward, the rando at the bottom with a .02 kd got the max level ghost that I was grinding for. I almost threw Destiny away that day.

10 AntwortenI wish we could post gamertags of people who did something awesome lol

That's a great experience. Not all people are just hardcore dorito eating killers.

Moments like the one you've just shared restore some of my faith in the Destiny community. Kudos to the team who helped you out and let's hope those you reported for dropping out get taught a lesson. Really good post dude.
