Whenever people argue about the crucible or how well you did at something kd always shows up. Well guess what, it proves nothing. Whenever people say stuff like "says guy with .8 kd" that doesn't immediately prove I suck. It could mean I only get stuck with red bar warriors. It could mean I am genuinely bad at a single part of the game. Or, it just means I hate PvP and stopped playing after having some bad matches. Personally, I never bought Destiny for the PvP. I bought it so I could murder aliens with my friends, not watch my favorite weapons get nerfed into submission and face a cruel, lag-filled version of Edge of Tomorrow. So, stop thinking you're some kind of PvP God because other people don't have good kds. After all, they are nothing more than a number on a screen.
By the way, git gud is a sh!tty argument because I don't care how good I am, I'm just saying don't think you're so much better because you have a different number on a screen.

*checks k/d -blam!-ing scrub

Yeah kd matters bro this is coming from a guy who was -4000 deaths away

My terrible KD gives me more right to an opinion on crucible weapon balance. I get killed by more players and more weapons and therefore have a good idea about what's popular and what kills fastest. Good players players get killed far less and with less weapons giving them a very narrow and therefore unreliable view of what's going on.

1 AntwortenK/D, grimmoire, light level, hours played, etc... all that counts.

3 AntwortenYou have a negative KD. Therefore you suck.
kek
3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Valkalla: 7/5/2016 3:38:56 AMOp I agree with you on the idea that a person should not base so much of their self-perception or perception of others on their performance in a video game or even in a more general comparison to other people. I will say this, though. A high KD is not weightless either. It means that person consistently plays well. Anyone who does well at something can give meaningful contribution to the topics that fall under the category of what they do well in. A high KD nets you the ability to instruct others of lower KD with tips, tricks, and strategies for playing well. Someone with a low KD (with enough matches played) consistently plays "bad", meaning they consistently die more than they kill. This is not coincidental. Low KD's don't mean you Happen to always be put in matches with shotgun warrior red bars or snipe gods. In fact, you might hate me for saying this, but skill based matchmaking generally prevents low KD players from entering unfair match ups. Bad connections? Sure. Pub-stomping? Extremely rarely. If you have a below 1.0 KD it could mean a few things. You probably veer away from your team a lot. You could stand to be more aware of your surroundings, and more knowledgeable of the maps. You might be too rushy or too cautious. You might want to hone your skill in more weapon classes, and know in what occasions to use which. Etc... All that being said, a low KD does not mean invalid opinions but in certain topics, it could mean arguments carry less weight especially if logic is not connecting. For example, if someone with a low KD posts about nerfing a particular weapon archetype, and bases their post on the fact that they're always dying to it, unless they provide solid unbiased and quantifiable evidence for their position, it will not hold much weight. If a person with a high KD that doesn't generally use that weapon replies with a way to effectively counter their reply may be perceived as holding more weight. In both cases, quantifiable evidence beats out KD, but in the case of a high KD poster vs a low KD poster saying the same thing in the same way, the person with the higher KD will generally be perceived as being more weighty. Once again though, this doesn't make anyone worth more than anyone else, and all opinions matter. Some just hold more weight due to the person they are attached to. I am saying this as someone who is not great at PVP but does go positive consistently for the most part, and someone who strives to understand and respond logically and perceptively. I hope I didn't offend with anything I said, and maybe you disagree with me. That's fine. I'm always down to discuss stuff.

kd is not a personal stat.. it takes in to consideration who you play with as well. Who has your back, strategy etc. if you consistantly play with far better guardians, then the sbmm will set you up with far better guardians and your kd will likely be lower because your skill level yet you play with players your own skill and you are top of the board and have great kd.. much like a great hockey player on a crappy team.. there is only so much the stats can actually show.

PREACH IT

4 AntwortenI wish they added a ranked mode.

1 AntwortenThe only time K/D matters is when someone tells me to suck it up when I moan about SBMM, while they have a .45 and I have a 1.6 on my Titan.
-
My recent KD are actually really good, well sorta. Two out of three characters are tuning a positive KD, and the third is .9 All time is still shit, but I'm slowly getting there. I agree though, KD doesn't matter and I've had someone message me trashing me because my KD was .35 when my all time lowest is still higher than that. Lol.
-
"kd means nothing, I would give anything to have someone who has a .50 kd vs someone with 3.0 anyday. Prove me wrong."
-
People just have no counter argument, so when someone brings kd up, they pretty much lose the argument because they are mostly morons.
-
I think the amount of time you've played is the most important but if you spent a year and a half sucking that's different. Jk about the last part.

1 AntwortenNow looking over more than a few replies one constant seems to be k/d = your ability to have an intelkigent talk about something in the crucible. Now on the flip side of using k/d, the only time i feel it is valid is vs the idiots whi cry that "xx" is too OP ir 'they die too much' or some such idiotic reasoning. But k/d doesn't just invalidate something said "because". I can (and do) struggle on and off in the crucible LOTS. Any non-moronic comments dont lose their validity solely due to a number.
-
8 AntwortenEverybody knows having a high KD gets you laid

What does Kevin Durant have to do with anything?

OP has .8 kd disregard the noobs comments

1 AntwortenMy kd means I drive a fancier car and my weiner gets emptied once a day by my butler.

Yes and don't forget some people crucible farm #thechaperone

Says the guy with the .8 KD. Smh...

Just hide your characters.

KD only Matters post game against a sweat team

It's those sweaty try hard squeakers on summer vacation. Who play for 12 hours straight.

2 Antworten1.0 and up is average, if lower they have no opinion for pvp. PVE scrubs constantly crying for nerfs.
