Whenever people argue about the crucible or how well you did at something kd always shows up. Well guess what, it proves nothing. Whenever people say stuff like "says guy with .8 kd" that doesn't immediately prove I suck. It could mean I only get stuck with red bar warriors. It could mean I am genuinely bad at a single part of the game. Or, it just means I hate PvP and stopped playing after having some bad matches. Personally, I never bought Destiny for the PvP. I bought it so I could murder aliens with my friends, not watch my favorite weapons get nerfed into submission and face a cruel, lag-filled version of Edge of Tomorrow. So, stop thinking you're some kind of PvP God because other people don't have good kds. After all, they are nothing more than a number on a screen.
By the way, git gud is a sh!tty argument because I don't care how good I am, I'm just saying don't think you're so much better because you have a different number on a screen.

I'm 12 and my KD is higher than everyone's! Lol jokes.

I agree with OP, to a point. K:D isn't everything but it for someone you've never played with before, it's a good indicator of there skill level. I play with many friends who have negative KDs and it doesn't bother me though. And I have never cared about my KD and I'm surprised that my KD is even positive(lol) because I never worried about it. I'm an objective player, I play to win, and I don't care if I die to achieve the win. And many other people I play with are the same. I would rather play with someone who will capture b flag and hold it, than someone who camps back and stares at it because they don't want to ruin their precious KD.

I tank my KD on purpose, but KD TOTALLY matters. ;)

3 AntwortenI'm average, and I've been the best around, and I've been the worst around. I play solo 100% of the time. Most of these "git gud" scrubs use nothing but meta and live in fireteams with their butt buddies. Truth.

2 AntwortenKD is important... If you have a positive KD, do you know what that means??? Overall you have more kills than deaths. In any shooter KD will always be relevant, whether you like it or not. Its ok if you are not very good. These kind of posts are just excuses and you wouldnt be making these excuses if you didnt care about your KD anyway.

7 AntwortenHigh K/D = Consistently play well, kill more than you die Low K/D = Consistently play bad, die more than you kill It's pretty simple Also, why are these threads constantly made by people with lower end K/Ds? It's like you're trying to say "KD doesn't matter" while simultaneously trying to justify your low K/D. You're bad at PvP, cool, but if I want to win games I'm going to take someone with a 3.0 over a 0.5 any day because I KNOW that they're good, instead of taking a chance with the 0.5 guy who may OR MAY NOT be good.

7 AntwortenIf you are bad at the game in the majoritiy of cases you will have a bad K/D. If you are good at the game in the majoritiy of ases you will have a good K/D. "But K/D isnt even important" In most cases if you have a bad K/D you will also have a bad win ratio, this is because you arent helping your team. In most cases if you have a good K/D you will have a good win loss ratio, this is because you are helping you team. Please hit me with some excuses on why you suck, though ive heard them all sometimes people can surprised me by hitting me with a new one to laugh at.

Umm...I have a KD of 4.0217734349754 in destiny, 9.61 in titanfall, 2.31 in bf4, 1.2 in black ops, and 1.5 in halo. Get on thine level scrub.

Git gud skrub
I mean come on, how hard is it just to go positive? or just even
1 AntwortenI agree and most on this thread have missed your point completely. I have a kd of about 1 - 1.2. So by there logic I suck at Destiny. But I have a grimoure score over 4850 and over 600 raids completed. I don't think I suck I just don't play pvp much.

Everyone can see your recent games. You're not getting matched up against red bar warriors ten games in a row right? (Referencing the fact that you've gone -1.0 every game.)
-
It really depends. You can be a net positive to the team and have a negative kd. But for most game modes having a positive kd will make be a net positive (scoring more than your deaths cause), while making it easier to play the objective (it takes time to spawn and challenge an objective). So while you may be technically correct in that kd does not directly correlate to usefulness/skill, it most certainly provides a glimpse of how well they play. A higher kd will typically mean they can maneuver the map better to provide an advantage, allowing them to get the first strike on an opponent and escape from encounters before dying. I'm sure there are some with high kds that do not play well. Afterall, having a 3 kd is not helping the team if you're not helping to defend an objective, and only kill 3 people the entire match... but regardless, it is one of many means to measure skill, and it so happens to be one of the most easily accessible to this community. So it's what people will use.

Funny that I usually gauge whether or not some one is winning or losing an argument based on how long before I start seeing a reference made to how bad someone's K/D is or the "git gud" is thrown about.. The more heated debates are the ones where you tend to see these used quickly and often. The more hilarious ones are when someone brings K/D into the conversation but the topic has nothing related to Crucible.
-
It can go either way. I for one would have a better k/d than 0.9 if I weren't stuck in shitty matches all the time with shitty connections and bad teammates who don't know how to work as a team. Anyone with a 1-1.5 k/d should be given a chance because of those circumstances where as I'm less likely to play with someone who has a low k/d when it could sabotage my own (like it has in the past)
-
I am around a 1, the rest of my clan are 1.5 +, when we play I am clearly outmatched and do my best to stay positive, but it's hard.
-
Says the one with the 0.78KD
Im kidding I'm seeing who will get triggered
-
Nice excuse why you suck haha
-
8 AntwortenCoz is legit. Everybody who says the game is easy and no skill always has 0,5 kd. People who talk nerfs a lot also have 0.5 kd. People with that kd can barely kill others so balancing game on thise players would make everything auto 1 hit kill.
-
1 AntwortenWell, i don't take advice about this game from people who suck at it. If you gotta good KD, your good. If you gotta bad KD, your bad. Sorry to break that to you. But I've played with sub 1 KD's and they're garbage. That's no coincidence.

Yes yes and yes
-
23 AntwortenI agree. My 100,000 crucible kills with a 2.2+ k/D means nothing. So don't ask me to carry in trials, because K/D means nothing whatsoever. ~TheGreatNike

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von Erijian: 7/5/2016 8:21:55 PMNot trying to put you down or justify the K/D argument, but why does almost every person that makes a post like this have under a 1.0 K/D?
-
33 AntwortenIf you can do good = high KD If you CAN'T DO good = low KD easy as that.

*checks k/d -blam!-ing scrub
