So bungie always wants to stress the competition side of trials so here is a great idea...
For the next trials i.e. Rise of Iron dlc
It should be setup in a tier system for instance 7 separate tiers.
Once you go flawless one time on your account you hit tier 1 and all your future games are against tier 1. When you hit flawless again you go tier 2 and play only fireteams with a tier 2 player. This would go all the way to 7 tiers you know cause bungie loves 7!
Imagine watching the fireteams battle out in tier 7. This also helps the masses with having a legitimate chance of actually reaching the lighthouse with their friends without having to hope for carry from a raffle.
I forgot to add an important point someone pointed out, yes this would reset with every weekly reset just as everything else does ;)
Another note worthy idea to stop the carries from happening with people manipulating the system would be that the fireteam has to have the same card i.e. Same amount of wins and boons applied
I'd also like to add that this could actually solve the SBMM issue too by going to connection based because the tier systems is already taking the SBMM into account

1 AntwortenMaybe resent every other week. That way people would actually get to play in whatever tier the got to
-
14 AntwortenI agree they should put accounts into a winners bracket if they win (or at least per Character not necessarily per account). That way it would make it easier for $hity PVP'ers such as myself to get to the lighthouse.

I would prefer it to be left as is. If you cannot go flawless, the game should not cater to you because you aren't skilled enough. The game should reward those skilled enough to go flawless, not give it out freely, or make it easy, which is what this Change would do.

So bring SBMM back even more now? Uhh fuk off

4 AntwortenSo... after reading comments, I have determined that: A) T.o.o players are mostly douchebags B) They dont like the tiered idea because it will make THEIR flawless harder to achieve C) The "elite" (lol) are afraid to take on players of their own skill I like this idea, i dont usually do trials because of the pub stomps. I've watched my roommate attempt it a handful of times and have noticed that the matchmaking varies wildly between people who couldnt shoot their way out of a paper bag to the S.E.A.L.s of destiny. If they added a tier system where i could hone my game while still having a chance at good close games against players at my skill I feel i would enjoy the grind of that. then when I get better I move up a tier and play against more players at my skill level. I dont want a hand out, i want a equal chance to EARN my flawless

23 AntwortenBearbeitet von Tibbaryllis2: 6/27/2016 2:23:34 PMI agree with this idea every time someone suggests it. What use is a competitive game mode that, by going off of card wins, doesn't actually match people of equal skill together. Guys who go flawless every weekend multiple times shouldn't be in the same pool as guys who have never seen the lighthouse. After sufficient time invested, people should be able to improve their skill enough to make it to the lighthouse, however that isn't what is happening. Instead people are legitimately trying, only the be matched against guys with perfect rolls on every slot who, at this point, are just playing trials with the soul goal of ending other people's cards. These are the same people who would go on and on about how trials is suppose to be hard and competitive, but they'd look awfully hypocritical if they didn't like the idea they could only match other people that shared their achievements.

That is easily the best change to trials hands down obviously the 3.0 KD players won't like it, but twitch ratings would go up when viewers know it's gonna be stacked teams facing off all night. But the whole twitch carrying system would be a little messy when you have a tier 0 player running with 2 tier 7 players to earn a flawless trip

that would be awesome

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von WiggletonBandit: 6/27/2016 4:31:27 PMI like the idea and have proposed it myself, but as others have pointed out seven tiers is too many. There are already enough issues finding a decent connection and separating the player base would only make it worse. I would recommend two tiers separated by those who have gone flawless at least once, and those who have not. All players would start in the "Entry Tier". Once you've gone flawless you may only play in the "Flawless Tier" from then on. Similarly, entry level players may only play in the "Entry Tier" until they've gone flawless once. I believe this system would help to improve Trials in the following ways. 1. This would help prevent top tier players from carrying lower level players to their first flawless victory, instead encouraging players to form their own teams in which they could contribute toward their success and feel some degree of accomplishment rather than sitting back and watching their teammates carry them to victory. 2. Over time it would presumably become easier to reach your first flawless victory as the higher skilled players become relegated to the "Flawless Tier" player pool. Thus it feels more achievable than the current system, and hopefully gets more people playing Trials since many lower to mid tier players don't currently bother since the task seems insurmountable. This in turn means a wider range of skill levels across all players and hopefully more fun for all. 3. It would allow for players to reach the lighthouse only once before being placed in the "Flawless Tier". Personally, I've given up on ToO because elimination isn't a game mode I particularly enjoy given the relatively slow pace compared to other game modes, and I have no interest in being carried to the lighthouse. However, if given the opportunity to play against others closer to my own skill level, I wouldn't mind seeing the lighthouse at least once, and would guess there are others in the same boat.

7 AntwortenHaha man you put some thought into this and these dudes are destroying it. I'm thinking a couple of these guys are afraid of hitting that 7th tier because they know they would get whopped. Instead they'd rather bash you. I know I know. My best character is only a 1.0 KD and I need to get his scrub and I couldn't do it on my own.

1 AntwortenYup great idea. Not many of these out there...

2 Antworten
Imagine watching the Fireteams camp out in Tier 7
Found a typo in there. Fixed it for you.

1 AntwortenAs someone who has yet to land a Lighthouse run I would obviously love it to be easier. I have no shame. The changes I would make would be as follows; - rotating maps - Inferno every other week - Skolas and Vex Prison of Elders maps to be included in the map rotation - heavy round is random between rounds 1 and 5 of a match - people who accept cash payment for guaranteed lighthouse runs should be in their own separate 'paid' league. If you're gonna get paid then it should be really f#cking tough! That is all. I agree with the people who say it should be hard to get 9-0.

This is sheer brilliance. You sir should be hired by bungie.
-
I like that idea it should be on to help other who want flawless
-
Maybe not 7 tiers but definitely a great idea! It would help bring the player base together more

1 AntwortenAnd what with these that carry people? Tier 7 + double tier 0 for example
-
I have an Idea. I have seen many replies on other posts saying, " Trials is for the elite. Here is my Idea Take out SBMM. Put this Matchmaking but find people around your skill set. Lets say you have to okay players on your team and you are the baller one, somehow you need to get put against someone who is baller like you and 2 others that are okay. To make it a fair match, and slowly increase the difficulty, each time you win you get put against people slightly higher than you, and it increases.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ruqratt: 6/27/2016 6:07:05 PMYep, destroy trials like no other by adding this in Bungie. Last thing I wanna do when I play Trials is run into Destiny streamers 24/7 when I hit 7th tier first trials into the RoI. Not to mention, isn't trials for the best of the best of PvP? Just because you think you can go 9-0 with your God roll Longbow and Grasp. of Malok or whatever you have doesn't mean your low K/D or just lack of skill can get you that 9-0. The fact that you want to add a system in to make it easier for noobs to do something that isn't easy in the first place FOR A REASON, just so you can MAYBE go flawless is slightly depressing. Do yourself a favor and keep paying $50/a run to the people in the top 100 who are actually good at this game. Edit: Let me also throw this out, I dont just go into trials with my team to scarab farm everytime I go flawless. I actually CARRY PEOPLE, FOR FREE, EVERY WEEKEND. This would ruin carries by big and small time players such as myself, which at the same time is a good and bad thing when you think of the cancerous carriers who do Raffles and make you pay.
-
I have never been to the lighthouse as I am simply not good enough. I am getting better but don't deserve to be carried or for it to be made simpler so poor trials players can get to the lighthouse. Trials must not be changed. If I do ever get there I want it to be because I am good not because It was easier. Should we make the raid easier so people who can't beat oryx can get the ship? Let's just get gud
-
7 AntwortenWhat makes trials challenging and rewarding is having to earn your way in, which sometimes entails eking out quality wins against good times. Ensuring that any and all competent teams spend as little time as possible playing against "the masses" makes the path to the LH progressively easier for everyone else, sure, but it also defeats the purpose of an event that rewards strong teams. Weaker players can already face off against ppl of similar ability in regular crucible, there doesn't need to be an easy button for Trials as well.

7 AntwortenI like it but instead of 7 Make it 2. Friday will have the biggest batch of players while Sunday will most likely have the smallest batch of players. It'll also deal with the raffle carries I've been hearing about. Those who say this is end game content, let me ask you this. Is it fair for people who never in their life been to the Lighthouse, who have an actual life to attend to, to never see the Lighthouse once while all the top players and streamers put up the blockade against people whom have an actual life?
-
1 AntwortenNo thanks. I've never been to the lighthouse. came close a few times but to get there under your system would diminish my feeling of elation once flawless is achieved. I'd rather just sack up and get there the way the rules are now.
-
Good idea only because of the people getting carried by streamers or the people that pay to get to the light house by others. If they could fix that then trials doesn't need an overhaul. But I understand of they leave it the way it is. People are making money of streaming and carrying people to the light house.
