So a little while back I made a post saying if a got 500 bumps I would play cabal stomp on my trombone. Deej replied and said this: https://imgur.com/gallery/wWqUw
Here is the video Deej:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mZJwBnV5qCM

Bump this so DeeJ will keep his promise and he will see it!
Edit: first year playing any brass instrument.
Edit: I challenge all of you hating to pick up a random instrument and perfectly play this with only a day to create it, make the sheet music (you have to do the notes by ear) and play every note perfect.

Sounds like the song to me. Don't know how people don't know it. Sounds pretty good!

I am going to assume you are going into 7th grade since you've been playing for 1 year and you are allowing forum goers to offend you. And for that I applaud you, having the guts to post this knowing well how many people will criticize it. My honest opinion? It needs work, I have been in band for 3 years and in music for 8-9. If your band director is anything similar to mine he would tell you the truth...it wasn't that great. But being able to find the notes from listening to the music is impressive for only 1 year in band. Overall, goodish job. Don't give up, band will be tough if it's like the program I am in. (All of this is assuming you are going into 7th grade)

Nice job the fact that you can write music and play it is awesome. Congratulations!

Good vid.

As a fellow trombone player, I suggest you use more air when playing the instrument. The notes were all awesome, but your tone could be more defined. Overall, great job man.

I love it.

He said "upload a GOOD vid". Still your move kiddo.

All it takes is a good ear to get the notes, well done

Good job man!!

Nice job showing Deej what's up!

Why only a day to create it? The gripe is that you had all this time and this is was you submitted.... Right?
-
He said upload a good video. And you... well you uploaded this.

1 AntwortenHe said upload a "good" vid. He won't be tweeting this cringe

6 AntwortenBearbeitet von TheMilkman: 6/22/2016 5:34:52 PMUse more breath support. Use a fuller sound. I'm not sure if you tighten your mouth or have loose lips. But the sound sounds not very well supported during your piece. Nor do I know how long you have played your instrument. Good luck there will be a playing test tomorrow. And I expect you to master it ;). Edit: your first year? You didn't sound bad for your first year. When I heard trombones played my first year they sounded like a elephant taking a shite.

1 AntwortenMore props to you! And don't worry about the hate. For your first year it's not bad. Remember as you go, though, that one of the best ways to get better is through playing by ear. Sometimes you don't have to write the notes down. Just do your own thing! Best of luck in your future musical endeavors! -A Tenor Sax player

I'd pick up my clarinet and attempt playing it but it wouldn't even be close to what Cabal Stomp sounds like. XD I'm very terrible at tuning / figuring out notes with my ear, so kudos to you!

If you've never played an instrument, much less a trombone, you have no right to put this guy down. However, I played trombone for about eight years and stopped after high school, but I can say you still have some work to do. Some honest advice (from someone who is not an expert): try focusing on breathing by filling your stomach, not your chest. And try to relax and open your throat when pushing the air out, I can tell that it sounds a little "choked". Some of the notes had a good tone in the back, you just need to open up!

Anyone got the actual notes?

Little shaky, but still good work. Keep trying at it!
