Trump agrees with Obama about guns
Specifically about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list and no fly list from buying guns.
So how many Trump supporters just changed their minds on the issue?
Remember, if Obama wants it, it's bad.
If Trump wants it, it's good.
I feel I'm about to witness a ton of identity crises.

Good that should convince people on the right and left it's a stupid idea. Even if some how a law was passed, it would be stuck down simply because you can't deny anyone their rights without due process.

That's good. When will people learn!? This is good. Great, really. I actually support Obama on this. People on the FBI Watch Lists and/or are suspected terrorists shouldn't have the ability to use or obtain guns legally. It's simple. People that follow the law keep guns, people that don't...well, they don't have the privilege to own them.

As it stands now you can get put on it for literally anything or because they feel like it. Also that list is just like the Patriot Act and shits on Constitutional rights more than it prevents anything bad from happening.

However there is a legitimate argument to be made against this particular law change. The proposed law says someone on the terrorist watch list shouldn't be allowed to get a gun. The problem comes in when you see how you get on this watch list basically someone just thinks you're a terrorist and boom you're in. Taking it to its furthest extreme and some point in the future someone could just say well everybody is a suspected terrorist let's add everyone to the list which if this law is in effect could ban all guns for everyone. While that is an extreme I think is unlikely I could very well see you law enforcement abusing this as well anyone suspected of a crime even before they were convicted on it. I believe some people in the NRA are saying they can maybe go along with this but to get on the list a judge should have to put you on not just anyone randomly in law enforcement.

The sad thing is how we can argue so much about such a easy answer. If we can't even agree with common sense no way will any touch controversies be solved.

4 AntwortenI'm not a trump supporter, was a Bernie supporter and to a lesser degree am an Obama supporter, I do not support this action. Plain and simple its removing an Americans constitutional right to own a gun without due process. That's not how America works. I would much prefer to work within the constitution and impose stricter gun regulations legally then to use a list of names that anyone can be put on without committing a crime.

2 AntwortenI think he'll backpedal that one, or at least get more specific on the details. Many people erroneously get on the no-fly list. It's a pain in the butt for them to get removed so they can get on a plane, especially if your job requires you to travel. These people have done nothing wrong and are victims of mistaken identity.
