Hunters have been destroyed, congratulations everybody!

Well done guys, all your crying and moaning has paid off, blade dancers have been ruined, tripmines and throwing knives nerfed and shade and smoke nerfed! Edit 1: So I played a few games with gunslinger last night post patch and it's as I thought, trip mines no longer can one shot lower armour enemies so I'm not sure what the point of them is!? Edit 2: Made this thread almost a week ago, my god you people are boring, leave me alone!

I was playing yesterday things were going just fine, even during a crucible match I had placed the highest scorer out of everyone So sure they were nerf'd a bit, but let's be honest, it clearly isn't enough of a nerf to actually destroy hunters I think if anything, its the people who let the knowledge of nerfs get to their heads who really don't do as well compared to those who don't really care and continue to play the game as if nothing had changed Sorta basing that on the slight notice to when I play with my friends, Two specifically, one complains that every other class is over powered and hunters are too weak, where as the other friend doesn't complain at all In the end of matches, the one who constantly complains usually ends up with low scores and the one who doesn't give a care is usually among the top three. I'm just rambling now, point being, the nerf isn't noticeably and most nerfs aren't, its probably just in your head that the nerf destroyed hunters

    • I certainly don't blame Warlocks or Titans for this mess. I have never seen any one bitch about half the shit Bungie nerfed with the last patch. This was all Bungie's bull shit.

I would be happy if people would stop shooting gay bars and would shoot up bungie instead.... too far? These -blam!-ing useless -blam!-ed up patches and nerfs are going too -blam!-ing far... -blam!- you bungie. -blam!- you.     • Bladedancers are pretty weak now. I mean, only a 150% damage increase with encore. Pretty weak. There's the supers buff yeah, but since they're not PVP related, I guess they don't count. And there grenades! Unusable. I mean, flux grenade can stick, even track just a bit,but if it doesn't track them like a homing missile, then it's weak. And of course, there's the melee! I mean, I didn't see anything special about blink strike at all, but I guess if it's nerfed a bit, it's officially weak as well. Don't get me started on Nightstalkers. I mean, I can't wombo combo as easily people in PVP anymore! Why do I have to rely on all my other options like my guns or melee? So stupid Bungie. And shadestep! Instead of spamming it twice every couple of seconds, I can only do it once every 3! Do you expect me to actually think things though instead of spamming shadestep every time I'm in trouble? Do I need to even mention gunslingers? [spoiler]This is attempted sarcasm. In all seriousness, the only nerf that's a problem is tripmines ability to stick. That was fun to do.[/spoiler]

      • Tripmines detonate on impact now anyway? I dont see how this is so different to sticking to the player, and then detonating, if your throw is true, it should hit target. You just want to complain because you don't want change

          • It's not that bad. It's not rants on these forums that forced bungie to change things. It's metrics that indicate hunters have a higher kd and win percentage, by a hair. It's their obsession with parity across all classes and builds

          • Tested: throwing knives more or less the same Tripmine havnt killed anyone without have a shot or 2 with any gun Swarm more or less the same but actually does damage on impact Blink in dont use Skip grenades nothing changed but damage Fast switch takes like 10 seconds Blade dancer ive out ran people or if they killed me they wasted their super just for me

            • No, you just have to readjust and play a little bit smarter now. I main a Hunter from day one and its meh. I am a bit sad about Blade Dancers getting shafted a bit more like they still own PvP like they did in year one but then again I only notice the changes was when I was swinging at air to bridge the gap from one target to another faster. Oh well I'll adjust. I guess now it's more inline with Hunters being more of a precision and tactical based class than the other two. I don't get the changes made to Trip Mine Grenades. I think they're stupid. Specially the part that it will no longer stick to enemies. Sticking anyone with a Trip Mine Grenade was the fun part in using Trip Mine. I don't get it why it has to be changed. It's not like the other attachable grenades that actually has some sort tracking. So the Trip Mine changes are just stupid. Now with the Nighstalker changes, well it's a meh as well. For me at least. Actually that's a bit of a lie. I am a bit happy with the Shadow Shot changes, at least now those Wannabe Sith and Wannabe Thors will no longer be able to kill me with their Lightning and Hammers when it's clear that I had shot an arrow right next to them hoping it would stop their Supers. At least now I can confidently shoot it on a wall or a ground and try to stop supers at their tracks instead of trying to use it like the bow and arrow version of the Golden Gun. It also makes those Stormcallers and Sunbreakers think twice if they should rush a Nightstalker or not. As far as the Smoke Bomb changes its a meh. I never really relied on Wombo Combo too much. I can't even remember if I ever killed anyone with it. Removing the jump suppression from it is kinda stupid though. First they not only reduced the damage overtime they also reduce the duration and now anyone can simply jump out of it. It has now become one of the worst melee in the game because now it's almost completely useless other than a minor annoyance. They should've at least increase the density of the smoke so whoever is caught in it wouldn't be able to tell where they are jumping on to when they try to jump out of it. Hunters now have the worst grenades and the hardest melee to use. Either ways for me, the most use I get from it is on PvE using it with Vanish. On PvP its something I never relied too much on. Shadestep changes is at best a major annoyance for me in both PvP and PvE. In guilty of using it on PvP in times of panic and just started to Shadestep anywhere trying to avoid being killed but I was never really the one to spam the crap out of it in PvP so it's just a matter of me learning how to use it more wisely instead of only in times of panic. Now in PvE, is a different story. I cannot even begin to tell how many times it has saved me from dying when I'm surrounded by enemies and the only way to cover is a bee line to it which means certain death consisting I'm being lit up by enemies and turning invisible no longer guarantees a safe passage to the nearest cover. For a Hunter Mobility is life considering we do not really have a crap ton of armor nor do we have access to a bubble or a Flame Shield. Sadly we can't Self Rez as well. Hunters have to rely on our tricks to survive. Now I'm not saying Shadestep wasn't broken, actually it wasn't. All it really needed was tweaking much like what Bungie has been doing with Blink but unlike Blink the brilliant idiots who decides what goes on these changes decides to limit it to one dodge before going to cooldown. I could've lived with a longer cool down because now you better hope you're close enough to that cover that you'll be able to get to it in one Shadestep or hope that the enemies trying to kill you takes more than three seconds to be able to pin point you or else your Shadestep won't do shit except leave you high and dry. But much like with the previous updates and fixes and patches it's no big deal, I'll adapt while half of Destiny community overreacts while the other half tries to find another thing to whine and bitch about. The problem is people can't seem to adapt on their own and rely to heavily on one trick so when that trick gets nerfed people over react. On top of that soo many people are always asking for nerfs like crazy and Bungie knowing only how to over nerf. That's not a very healthy combo. For those who are but hurt over the Shadestep think of it this way Bungie just made the actual ability be in line with its name. It's called Shadestep not Shadestep[b]s[/b].

              • Hunters finally have pve worthy supers and your whining. Jesus hunters are only dead to the people who use the crutches such as shadestep and wombo combo me I preferred invisible smoke and keen scout. The tripmine damage nerf was stupid if anything it should of got a buff to damage so it kills anyone dumb enough to walk into it I personally didn't see a problem with throwing knives I sure as hell never one shot anyone with it but I also never used incendiary blade. Knife juggler all the way. Tether got a much needed impact surpression buff so that's good as well. And the other classes got some pretty good tradeoffs that I wouldn't call nerfs I mean stackable extra gun damage paired with a Nightstalkers and celestial night hawk equals boss destroyer.

                  • I rarely play crucible so the only thing that ticks me off about the update is that the tripmine doesn't stick. Which sucks for the Horseshoes and Hand Grenade bounty. Now I gotta use a bladedancer with a flux grenade. I think that's what it's called... Upping the damage of golden gun for PvE is great though!

                    The point of tripmines now is that they are camper grenades. Though it is a bit refreshing to see hunters bitch about other classes bitching for nerfs. Like twilight zone in the forums.

                  • I took Gunslinger into Nightfall and was amazing by how powerful they can be now. Hunters weren't ruined. They're still as useful. They got some adjustments and will now require a slightly different approach, mostly in PvP. They're not broken, though.
