I love hand cannons. But thy are absolutely useless in pvp. Here are the issues
Ghost bullets
Flinching Way to much to make any accurate follow up shots
Time to kill is excruciatingly long compared to any other archetype
And still not enough ammo
I can play a game with doctrine and annihilate anyone across the map. I switch to a hand cannon and am lucky to play clean up from my team mates.
Please buff hand cannons. They are not up to par with other weapons. They can't compete with anything in the crucible right now.

You couldn't be more wrong. Hand cannons are the fastest killing primaries BTW.

30 AntwortenI whooped ass again today with a new eyasluna... Braced frame triple tap and grenadier.... You losers need to pace your shots and stop blaming software cause you cant shoot or perk your weapons out properly.
-
2 Antwortenyou know in tournys they use handcannons right, you have to have 1 of 3 rolls... rangefinder with atleast hammerforged rifled barrel or reinforced barrel. range = no ghost
-
If your a hunter throwing knifes work well with handcannons
-
The Byronic hero is lit don't know what you are talking about

Bearbeitet von dogsniper12: 6/13/2016 1:13:02 PMThe last word and hawkmoon are still extremely good and viable guns in the crucible. Legendaries not so much but the eyasluna is amazing with the right perks.
-
5 AntwortenThe Hawkmoon is solid and appears to be very competitive in PvP with its range. I cannot comment on the legendaries. Definitely agree on the ammo. I run out way to easy in PvE. If they had more ammo I would use Ace of Spades more often in PvE and other pistols.

3 AntwortenHand cannons are my main weapon as you can see by my DTR page. I have never struggled to outgun any other gun with them. I occasionaly use my counter balance doctrine for fun but my go to primary will always be the hand cannon. I never ever ever lose a 1v1 primary battle using my eyasluna or even my LFH god rolls. Even against doctrines I will never lose the 1v1. Its all about landing that first shot to the head and then getting two bodies. This will kill any guardian other than max armor rams. SirD made a good video about why hand cannons will always be fundamentally the best primary (if you can use them). I have 3 eyasluna god rolls I go between and I find the easiest most consistent one is range finder grenadier braced frame. TTK is not long compared to other primaries. It sounds to me like your problem is that you have a sub-parr hand cannon that you are trying to spam fire. If you don't have great stability the spam fire will make your shots inaccurate especially if your being flinched aswell.
-
I don't have any problems with hand cannons. They shouldn't keep up with pulses and scouts at medium to long range. You have to time shots. Seems legit to me.
-
I use them alot competitively. But then again mine are godrolla

You have not used hand cannons long enough to make a reasonable assumption on their performance.
Flinching Way to much to make any accurate follow up shots[\quote] Take it or leave it, flinching keeps you honest. Yes, it is annoying, but you can change your style of play to counter flinching.
Time to kill is excruciatingly long compared to any other archetype[\quote] Time to kill can be reduced by learning how to snap. Snapping removes aiming, and can significantly increase the time to kill of any hand cannon. When I first started using hand cannons, I used to frequently aim and by the time I had the sights on the target, I was either dead or dying. Aiming takes the longest ammount of time, so naturally, the sensible thing to do, would be to remove aiming from the process. That does not mean you do not aim down sights, you still have to do that, but you do not have to worry yourself with the minutiae of aiming. Because snapping, is the art of aiming without having to aim!
And still not enough ammo
I seriously doubt whether you run out of primary ammunition in PvP. If you do find yourself running out of ammunition frequently, then the flaw is in your technique, and not the hand cannon themselves.

2 AntwortenRemove stability perks on fast firing auto rifles (DoP/Soulstealer) and pulse rifles (Hawksaw/malok). Then you'll see a balance to hand cannons. Then and only then will non-HC users see what a HC problem is. I admit I like my Soulstealer and my Malok, but I've loved handcannons. HC's will miss because of bloom and pacing. Call it what you will, miss, ghost, whatever. Problem is that hand cannons will at times miss at intended ranges WHILE ADS and pacing shots. It's how they have been nerfed. Issue at hand is there are very limited perks that make HCs viable. In order to be highly useful, they should have true shot or sureshot and have rifled or reinforced barrel. Stability will help with reduction of time for bloom cone to minimalize, range reduces bloom cone size and drop off. I have a few that I can still do well with (curse, LHF, God roll vanity, Ace) but essentially without the perfect perks, they are weapon parts fodder. No other gun suffers from bad rolls more than HCs.

All of those are my problems
-
I have a god roll eyusluna that destroys in pvp. 3 hitter quitter!
-
3 AntwortenAs long as you have one with a range perk there usually not to bad, just depends on the map your on.
-
They're not quick enough if a second person steps next to them to kill both usually.
-
I also love beer. As well as agree that Hand cannon accuracy needs to be fixed.
-
I don't know about you but I'm having fun with Eyasluna in PvP.
-
6 AntwortenI was doing fine last night in rumble with a Judith-D and a first curse. I was getting 2nd-3rd even with major mistakes. One match I would have even won if I landed the grenade on target.
-
They are great for me. Hawkmoon is amazing. Lord high fixer is my favorite pvp gun. Last word is up there to. The bullets are inaccurate every once and a while but defiantly not useless.
-
3 AntwortenLel, I have an Eyasluna with outlaw, rifled barrel and luck in the chamber that says otherwise

4 Antworten
I can play a game with doctrine and annihilate anyone across the map.
This is why Doctrine needs nerfing. Nerfs aside, hand cannons are advanced weapons, and probably the most difficult weapons to master in Destiny. They are not without their issues, manufactured issues, but there is a wide gulf between those that use hand cannons, and those that are actually competent using them. There is an even greater gulf between those that are competent, and those who all but mastered the advanced techniques that are required to excel with the weapon type. For instance, here is a simple advanced technique, that some may already know, that can increase hand cannon fire rate, in sticky situations. Did you know that you can cock your hand cannon, and hold the trigger at the bite? There is an ingame animation for this technique, and doing so, removes some of the trigger travel time. This allows you to fire your hand cannon on a hair trigger, and fire two rounds quicker than if you had fired them in the traditional manner. The increase in ROF is not substantial, but it is noticeable, and in tight, or twitch situations, it can prove to be the difference between life, and death. There are more advanced hand cannon techniques like this, which can be mastered, such as snapping, triples snapshooting, thought processes, and concepts. More than any other weapon in Destiny, hand cannons require finesse, and when wielded by a master, are stylish and graceful, and without equal.

2 AntwortenLol they don't work that good with ur lag switch. Lag switchers prefer high rof like hawksaw and doctrine
-
5 Antworten2100 hours in PvP only and I switched to overwatch after the latest TLW nerf... At least mccree has a consistent 6 shooter...
-
Soulstealers Claw, Scout and Pulse Rifles rule. Hand Cannons are useless.
-
I still get a lot of players criticise me on my video tho. Saying because I'm out of range and crap. Its all ways the kill shot that don't register and that's an issue not the user issue. Iv shot a player all ready pushing long range and yes hand cannons can still do that but it will have a damage drop off.
