Bungie, undermining your own team?

I am confused Bungie. I'm no programmer but: Pve content obviously takes a lot of planning, effort, design and development. You really turn out some good looking and well thought out stuff. Pvp content is less so, simpler maps and mechanics would imply a lot less work needed to develop. Why then, in one week of Pvp have I gained more useful rewards for just showing up, win or lose, than I have in 2 months of pve? The only way to drop similar gear to what I have this week in Pvp is to do hours of pve grind, after trying to a cobble together a half decent team of randoms. Why do your pve teams the injustice of making all their hard work less rewarding than just being able to fly into crucible, kick the controller every 30 seconds, then walk away with great drops? Enlighten me.

  • Well I guess you must be talking about IB as that's the only PVP activity that gives reliably good rewards just for playing. As IB only turns up once a month the play time required to get said rewards is considerably longer than doing CoE 3 times every week. You''re also limited in what you can recieve in Iron Banner where as COE can award any type of gear. And finally, the last two IB's have had significantly improved drop rates, probably as a way of tempting players back. Typically Iron Banner has had terrible drops, and its certainly never been a reliable way of getting good gear in the past.

    • If you truly have gotten more rewards from PvP in a week than 2 months of PvE, you're doing the right kind of PvE. If you're talking about the IB PvP, then that's a once a month event. Doesn't last forever and has a lower earnings potential per time played than challenge modes or CoE...
