Why have Blade dancers become so useless? The only reason anyone used them in year one was because of their ability to become invisible. Now that Night stalkers are in the game, Blade dancers have become irrelevant. Night stalkers can be invisible, they have better grenades, have triple, jump, have a better super, and can shadestep. It seems like Night stalker is better in every way. Tell me how Storm Caller and Sunbreaker have affected the other two subclasses, I wouldn't know since I'm primarily a hunter. I think the useless classes should get a total redo, like make the bladedancer shoot blades of light instead of trying to melee and getting a shotgun to the face and die. Tell me what yall think about this whole mess.
Edit: when I talked about the shotgun, I meant you as a bladedancer, are the one that gets hit with the shotgun
Edit 2: I guess you guys are right, I do need to relearn how to bladedance. Why relearn you ask? Oh well, it just so happens that since bladedancers are outclassed by nightstalkers, I tend to use nightstalkers more often
Edit 3: I run a Night stalker with tier 5 strength, so I get an insane amount of invisibility. It helps because if I am on the run from a large group of enemies, because all I have to do is throw down a grenade and become invisible and get away. In those circumstances, it is quicker and easier to use vanish in smoke then to desperately try to find cover and crouch and wait. In strikes like the brothers strike, there are barely any places to hide in the boss arena, and if you do take the time to crouch and wait, you will most likely get killed.
Edit 4: I don't think I mentioned this before, but Nightstalkers are the support subclass of the hunters. Like Defender and SunSinger, Nightstalker is a class meant to help out other team members. While titans provide shield and SunSinger can keep a team alive, nightstalkers use their super to
1. Generate massive amounts of orbs
2. Tether and disable enemies
Not only the super, but the perk Vanish in Smoke can be used to make an entire team invisible.

The arc blade melee feels like it should act like blink strike. That would give it a 'super' feel.

Bearbeitet von Soul_Eater_42: 5/27/2016 4:07:17 PMIf Bungie could stop catering to all the PvP addicts, and start focusing on improving PvE, we might have better subclasses. I've already got a list of PvE improvements for every Subclass. Problem is they could never happen because Bungie doesn't know how to properly balance a damn thing between both modes. It's always PvP, and PvE gets the middle finger as a result.

2 AntwortenNobody in year 1 was really going invisible.. Not like now anyway .. These invisible scrubs abd scrubsingers with thier scrubbolts .. Came out hardcore in year two . THE YEAR OF THE SCRUBS IS IN FULL EFFECT

7 Antworten"Tell me how Storm Caller and Sunbreaker have affected the other two subclasses" Before the Hunters got us totally nerfed, Sunbreaker made the other 2 classes irrelevant. To this day I would rather take a pre-nerf Sunbreaker into any PvE activity than a Bubble due to the insane amount of damage they did (and Nightstalker can buff the team instead, we did our work in year 1 lol!). Stormcaller - I mean, play it. Just play it. Aside from self res & flame shield in the final stage of the raid, there is no reason to use the other 2 subclasses, this is quite simply so powerful & so good at making orbs, it has negated the other 2. Just started a warlock as Bungie seem to think they are ok, my stats are way better on the Warlock than my other classes lol, and I have used Stormcaller 100% since level 25 (you can see I have barely done anything on the unlocks for the other 2).

Since Bungie buffed Voidwalkers, the warlock subclass are pretty balance in terms of usage. Perhaps Bungie will do the same for Hunters

2 AntwortenIn pve they're worthless. Can't generate orbs can't kill anything. In pve you're pretty much pigeon holded into the following classes. Nightstalkers, defender, and sunsinger sometimes storm caller.

10 AntwortenYour useless
-
I think I got a slayer medal last night, using encore?! O:
-
Yeah for pve im always going to use nightstalker. Its just too good.
-
What's this kids point. He tears apart Blade Dancers for being useless then blames Nightstalkers. But the praises them through out. Very confusing To the OP. My striker can go invisible as well (but why should I) my Voidwalkers makes more orbs then every NightStalker I've played with (maybe their lazy), my Sunbreaker weakens bosses more often the my NS (12sec vs 2.5min), and my Blade dancers is a murderous bitch in PvP. Come done to one thing. Play style.

11 AntwortenI'll whoop your ass with Bladedance anytime.
-
No offense but you probably don't know how to use the class. It's my favorite sub class and do very well with it.
-
Lol. So funny. Yeah really useless. Nobody run blade dancer alright?
-
Excuse me? Bladedancers need a buff? Hahaha. No.
-
Bladedancer still beats NS for pvp, which is what it was designed for. It was NEVER very good for pve
-
What? I like bladedancer. One of the best pvp classes in the game.
-
I agree, Nightstalker and the return of Khepri has dimmed Bladedancer a little bit. Still, it's not a hopeless class. Indeed, with the right perk-set, it's still the sneakiest class in the game. Combine Bladedancer sneaky with a high-powered close-in weapon (swords or FA shotguns, for instance), and you've got a one-Guardian PvE wrecking crew. And decent support as well; think invisible revives.

4 AntwortenSorry, but nightstalkers do not have better grenades then bladedancers. That is why nightstalkers go str over dis. Also that last bit comparing invis, makes no sense. Just so you know that Blinkstrike can make you invis. Bladedancers, do not have to crouch to become invis. In fact it is easier to become invis with blinkstrike in your example, since any melee hit will Mike you invis, but with smoke you have to make sure nothing is around or you will do a basic melee. That is also before you consider that bladedancers invis last twice as long.
-
In pve they really suck. Still use that for blink when I'm not using my nightstalker. In pvp they aren't bad at all. You can get a good amount of super kills if you know what you are doing and have razors edge, have a melee every 5 seconds, skip grenades are nice, and you have blink. That's my go to pvp hunter subclass.
-
2 AntwortenI enjoy all the hunter subclasses, but have a greater respect for bladedancers. This coming from someone who was primarily a gunslinger. Using a bladedancers can make the world of difference if you win or lose in pve or pvp. Just a few days ago teamwork and one last minute arc blade attack made the diffence in my group winning a control match. Also, if you're in pve, and surrounded by enemies, what better way to clear a path than arc blade. But not that alone, invisibility still has its advantages. And let's not for get the effects of the lovely flux grenades. Especially in pvp!

Been playing Nightstalker alot lately and I realized there's quite the miss out I've been having....but Bladedancer being useless? I hope you're joking....you have no idea how many times I have clutched a ToO match or a NF checkpoint for the team....you have to know how and when to bladedance and the grenades are great...Nightstalkers have probably the shittiest grenades available...especially since in pvp you also have to use your melee charge to kill a person with the grenade if anything...I main Bladedancer and yea shotguns are annoying...but that's why you use Razor's Edge....you just got learn it again...that's all...maybe someday a Bladedancer will show you how great the subclass is... Stay forsty guardians
-
Nightstalker is the only viable option for pve right now... Simple
-
They are as useless as the player, and looking at this post my opinion is:
less than useless
-
At least the super actually works in pvp again. And since everyone and their mother is sniping you don't have to worry about the shotgun melee from every single player. Blink is still punishing to use and can't platform for shit post nerf but that's a whole can of worms I'm not ready to open yet.
-
7 AntwortenYou have Skips which are easily top 3 of grenades, and if you shotgun flux grenades. Frontstab Insta-kill and QuickDraw/Sprint and slide faster. How is that bad?
