Bare with me for a bit.
One thing Bungie and the public doesn't understand is that exotics need to be separated from Legendaries, what I mean by this is every time a weapon rises to be the best (which exotics used to be the alpha class) the people post and rant about it. (It's actually your fault public that certain weapons are the best, due to you all getting everything else NERFED because you hate losing to it and never learning how to counter it and GET BETTER...And be honest that's true)
Back in year one exotics were practically a different class of weapon completely, both in perks and potency.
This needs to be a factor again. Take gjallarhorn for instance:
When that baby dropped you screamed for joy because it was actually really good and back then, only exotics were really good...
Exotics need to be rare enough and because of the rare factor need to be potent enough to be different than Legendaries.
One should feel exited upon earning one, not "yay I can infuse that into something I'm sure".
Please understand this-Legendaries can be good such as
-Felwinters
-Prediths revenge
-Badger
-Fatbringer
-LDR5001
And countless year one weapons... But exotics need to be 2-4 steps ahead of Legendaries.
one thing that also was a good evening factor was the elemental burns found only on Legendaries, making them unique and different from exotics. Those burn options on raid primaries need to come back.
Now (other than the TOM) all exotics are practically Legendaries and quite frankly Legendaries are outclassing exotics.
There is no alpha exotic (it doesn't have to be for PVP) When you earn earn an exotic it needs to be a case where you scream for joy because it's ACTUALLY good.
One reason why this is not the case is that Bungie seems to have Thrown the new exotics together in a hurry, and the publics seems to have gotten everything Nerfed so much, nothing is different.
last word, thorn, suros, shotguns, and hand cannons would not have been Nerfed if people weren't so sore about getting beat.
Here is the way it really is- you lose due to you playing bad and not playing smart (because if you consider yourself a good player, you should be able to counter anything, otherwise you can't call yourself that.) and due to your frustration, you scramble to find something to blame it on, like what I listed. The only reason anything is ever Nerfed is by the publics influence by complaining about it. This is true, take the fusion rifle buff for proof- there was a whole "fusion rifle Friday" and a whole movement which in the whole scheme of things got the job done. Also what about the thorn Nerf? Last word Nerf? Gjallarhorn? Vex? Fusions? Shotguns?
It's as easy as this- you want a better gun and are tired of the guns you love getting NERFED? Stop complaining about it and just deal with it, or stop playing (or get better) and let us gamers play with the guns that we love and can counter and stop affecting us with your poor character.
To finish, there are a few ways to fix this and make it better again by the next DLC-
-Make exotics harder to get, and making them have a distinct difference between Legendaries (or make it such that they're so different you can't compare them, because as for now, the only thing separating an exotic from a legendary is the name "Exotic".)
-Make Xur not a factor for getting exotics.(Datto had a video on that) This makes it too easy to get them, it needs to be something you earn from a nightfall or quest.
-In the next DLC update remove 3 of coin for multiple reasons such as earning brand new exotics right out of the gate and lots of them.
-Make nightfalls relevant and not some strike playlist with no matchmaking.
(Remember a nightfall is not a nightfall without the nightfall perk, flaming XP head, or good rewards... Another thing that got nerfed by removal because of players who kept getting returned to orbit because of bad strategy and playing).
The public can influence Bungie (can and has) into changing many game mechanics and gear. I'm well aware that in the end Bungie makes the call, but influence is a strong thing and has successfully been effective with Bungie. In reality Destiny would be insanely different and possibly better if the public had not intervened.
And hey, if it is in the end Bungie... They're just as bad as the public, if everything needs to be equal than why have class names.

Bearbeitet von iFatum: 5/26/2016 2:41:16 PMI'm also curious as to how many of you want elemental primaries back (or new ones in the next DLC) If so follow this link and drop a bump or sign. Thanks https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/205196371/0/0

1 AntwortenAgree, exept u forgot 1 thing (the only thing separating an exotic from a legendary is the name "Exotic".), also u can only wear one of them even when they are bad :P
-
2 AntwortenJust because we like a weapon a lot and use it a lot doesent mean it's should get nerfed the way mida did.

1 AntwortenThe truth

2 AntwortenWell said, the public/bungie dont care but i agree
-
2 Antwortenthey made the damn game

1 AntwortenBut at the end of the day, Bungie chooses to make those changes. Bungie needs to learn how to make informed decisions instead of the basing changes on the tears of complainers.
-
bungie makes the guns op because they do the fu cking coding you arse
-
Bump. I can agree with your argument, but I will concur because I will point out that people will always complain about something. That does not mean Bungie should listen to them. And when Bungie DOES listen to them, they just need some common sense fixes. The Hammer Titan nerf? They should have left him as he was pre-nerf for the most part, but buffed damage on all other supers so he could be killed in a single super/single shot of super from all other classes. That would have solved the issue without weakening hammer titan to the point that its not really usable in PVP/PVE.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Erijian: 5/24/2016 3:02:28 AMExotics aren't supposed to be "outright better" than Legendaries though. They're supposed to be unique weapons that offer different styles of play than Legendaries could.

1 Antwortendid yo ever play PVP during vanilla? if someone had Vex Mythoclast and others didnt, it was preeeeeeeeeeetty one-sided (from what i heard, at least. up to 50 in the mag, with ridiculous base damage and just-as ridiculous range/stability? ooh boy, not a single person that has played during that time has told me it wasnt OP). Suros regime was in a similar boat too. then it was Thorn and TLW. then after that it finally started to even out, with no select weapon being on top. some would say that multi-tool is the king right now, but even in some unfavorable engagements, ive been able to beat it with other weapons (treads upon star, most notably, beats it due to its higher body-shot ttk). things constantly feel more balanced than the previous meta.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von seeweedbuscut: 5/24/2016 8:02:26 PMIs there a year 2 "fatbringer"? Want to know before i farm the vanguard playlists. I already know about the Imago, trying to get it to drop, but i hate Vex and their strikes. Didn't you guys see this was a bad attempt at satire? "fat-bringer"

I agree completely.

Absolutely right... They keep nerfing shit for the same reason they scrapped the original story. Kids, they have to pander to the kids. The answer? Abortion...
-
1 AntwortenThat -blam!-er Smith he nerf every thing because he listens to stupid -blam!-ing kids complainers, thorn last word shotguns snipers he nerf them all
-
1 AntwortenWrong...here's why. When bungie announced why(a long time ago) they were nerfing weapons...They claimed it was because certain weapons that they designed, we're simply getting used more than others. So, regardless of the cries for nerfs, bungies ass backwards thought pattern to making us use other weapons, is what's making the weapons more unbalanced with each nerf. The real problem is that bungie is too stupid to realize this.

It's bungie and nerfers

4 AntwortenMy friend and I had this discussion. I completely agree. Nightfalls were amazing. But with the crying of people saying it's to hard, not fair and as a solo player I should be able to do this. Nightfalls got destroyed. And the introduction to three of coins came in. But that wasn't enough. Because the raid as end game content is to hard because of the same reasons of the nightfall. A new infusion system is introduced to make raiding meaningless. So then players ask for old Nightfalls back for the xp boost. But people cry. So the introduction to rep boosters. People cry from weapons being op. Bungie solution is to continue to listen to the public and nerf things to dirt. Destiny was a meaningful experience. But the public wants everything handed to them. So Bungie changes the game for the players. The players still cry.

Bearbeitet von TautSkydiver0: 5/24/2016 5:28:18 AMYes. Yesss. YESSSSSS. Everything you said is truth!! I want to piss my pants and scream when I get an exotic, not infuse it into a legendary because it sucks! I want exotics to be OP as -blam!-, not legendaries with a yellow box that are terrible. I want to use an exotic auto rifle that can blow shit up, or an exotic rocket launcher to can act as a mortar, or an exotic fusion rifle with tracking bolts. I don't care what kind of exotic bungie can come up with, I just want them to be fun and different. And I know I'm going to get one person who says, "BUT YOU CANT HAVE ANYTHING THAT IS DIFFERENT, OTHERWISE ITS OP". And to that I say...
Nerf exotics all you want in PvP, but leave them alone in PvE.
Bearbeitet von Bad Wolf: 5/24/2016 4:07:54 AMI haven't been on the forums in a while, but I just had to respond to this absolutely insipid post. Do you know how game balancing works (or how it's supposed to work anyway, when executed by a half way competent developer), the developer is meant to take player feedback, weapons use statistics, game play videos, in house play testing, and a whole host of data points in other to balance the game, . They aren't just supposed to say "oh f**Kwit 229 on the forums hates Mida, let's nerf Mida."
-
Exotics need to be noticeably more powerful and yes a bit op... That was the original origins of exotics and the legacy must carry on. They need to be only earned, through quests or exotic bounties. Not sold, not 3 of coined. Hard core earned. Even datto agrees. He has said xur should not be a factor. If you like things easy to earn and kill and have Everything equal, call of duty is on sale.
-
While players can make suggestions on how to balance the game, they're nothing more than that: suggestions. If Bungie decides to take the players' advice and make the change, right or wrong, they are the ones responsible and need to deal with the consequences.
-
6 AntwortenBungie has the ultimate say. They make the choices. They make those silly words come out of their own mouths. "We developers agree Mida is in a good place right now, but we're gonna nerf it anyway..." People will ask for what they will, and that's to be expected. To a point Bungie wants to please us. However, if there is a grand vision to all of this - and if there is, damned if I can see it - Bungie has to steer us toward it.
-
1 AntwortenYou must be retarded lol. If a child asks a man to rob a bank and the man robs a bank, is the kid at fault? Or the grown man who listened to a child? Bungies fails are their own fault.
-
3 AntwortenExotics are supposed to be unique not default most powerful. I hated seeing only exotic primaries in year one
