Let's take a look at what made the games P2P so poor for them to decide something like this.
Skill based match making.
Melee fixes.
Damage referee
Attempted fixes on the connection settings. (-blam!-ing failure)
The four main factors in the death of the p2p code, yet it is somehow our fault that the crucible suddenly is this bad.
The main cause of lag is distance. Typically, the closer the host is to you, the better the connection.
We don't need bans on players to lessen lag. That is the complete opposite of the problem. The problem was created by Bungie, now they're punishing players for it.
This is Infuriating. No other company would treat their customers like this.
The company is too lazy to even implement better p2p settings. Forget about content for a week, and fix the connection settings to what it was in y1! Most of the problem would be solved. But they apparently know best. What a joke.
Sign if you want Bungie to stop restricting players for their own mistakes.
People need to realize that It isn't our fault it's getting worse.
It is their servers that decide to connect us in the worst manner possible for the sake of skill.
When our connection is suffering because everyone in the match is. They will inadvertently ban those who don't deserve it.
I believe this is a ridiculous way of dealing with red bars.

1 AntwortenFrankly I wish they would perma ban me from this craptastic game so I can put this addiction behind me.
-
That's like complaining about sports teams being barred from playing for not having regulation gear.
-
Word of the day is as-i-nine.
-
You don't get restricted. You just get given the same experience you'd get if you had a bad connection to a server: stomped by the LPBs.
-
I don't care. Get wifi or get out.
-
Wait Bungie has servers? LOL!

3 AntwortenFor most of year one I had a 2-3mb download speed on my broadband (waiting for upgrade). During this time I had next to no problems with my connection to Destiny. Yeah sometimes I lagged out, but no worse than any of my friends who I can guarantee had better broadband at the time. I now have a regular 30-40mb download speed and last time I looked a 9-10mb upload speed. I still have about the same rate of connection failure/loss/quality etc. I still sometimes red-bar and or get disconnected. The problem as I perceive it is mostly Bungies. I played on my weaker connection for a few years before Destiny came out and never had issues with BF3 or 4, Halo 4 or any other online game I play. Even now I get more problems playing Destiny than any other online game.

7 AntwortenYes a lot of the lag is caused by bungies horrible net coding but there is still a lot of people playing on hotspots, wifi, DSL, or just on really busy networks ( dorms, house holds with lots of electronic devices). Some of it is controllable and some isn't. But for someone on a bad connection to go into to crucible and play knowing he has a red bar is a dick move. It's unfair to players who make sure they have a good connection. Players who knowingly play in bad connections and do nothing to improve it deserve to be permanently banned from crucible.

1 AntwortenHaving an occasional red bar could be due to matchmaking. If you have a red bar most of the time, then it is likely to be due to your internet connection or something you are doing. As well as your hyper-fast connection, here are things that can cause lag in matches: Avoid being in a fireteam unless you know there are no problems with you playing together Stop streaming. For most people, no one wants to watch you Don't watch Netflix / someone else's stream when you are playing; not even during matchmaking while you are bored in orbit Play during peak hours for your time zone. If you are matched with someone in a different continent because you are playing at 3 am, then it's your fault. If you are a red bar a lot if the time, think about what you can do to improve your gaming experience and that if others
I think any restrictions should be temporary (even for repeat offenders) unless there is proof that they are lagswitchers or deliberately taking advantage of the poor connection. This will stop bans for people who may not have better connection options available
Bearbeitet von What I Look Like: 5/23/2016 12:53:45 PMI agree! "Here Bungie, here's $100+ for this game and all the DLC! What's that? I bought the Taken King on 360 so I gotta rebuy it on the One if I wanna move up? Well, that's a bit much but okay. I'll do it." "What's that, Bungie? Another weekly post about how you cannot make connections any better because your server is puny and slow? I can deal, the game is still fun!" "Wait, what? So you mean that because you can't fix your connection to this game, and if we don't have the best connection possible, you're cutting bits and pieces out of my playtime to make your shit connection seem better?" It's like, I've dumped how much money into this game? And because their server is absolutely horrid, they've got to make it seem as crisp as possible! "Let's just start banning poor people so the crybabies can enjoy our game and not bitch at us." I paid for every ounce of this damned game, there was no "perfect connection required" warning on the box. All I know is, if I get banned from anything there will be an issue. I don't spend money to have morons take away what I paid for to make themselves seem more capable.

1 AntwortenI don't care what OP or anyone else says there are players that genuinely have shitty connections and consistently ruin the experience for other people. I don't care if it's equipment, ISP or what. It doesn't change that you are ruining the game for other people. Bungie should however, warn people. Something like "look we're getting complaints about you or whatever fix your shit"
-
2 AntwortenYep. I got a one week restriction just for having an "unstable connection". The thing is, I am pretty much always green bar. Doesn't seem fair to me. You hear this Bungie! I'm calling you out! In the ways of old!
-
>Make a matchmaking system based almost purely on skill (stop lying Bungie, everyone's already amassed enough proof to call out any and all of your bullshit) >Ban players for having bad connection to Australia even though that's where the system forces them to Fantastic logic...

If I have Red bar I leave the game. Usually fixed next match. Simple to do and if everone did it there would be less issue. If you are Red bar most games your connection isn't fit for online multiplayer.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Raider TCK: 5/23/2016 11:23:32 AMThe main issue is that destiny rewards bad connections. Go play doom, gears of war, rainbow 6 etc. Players with poor connections are punished with latency & rubber banding, shot delay etc. These games also prioritise connections so have a much better gameplay experience. And lag is VERY rare. And the laggers get punished for it when it happens. In destiny it can give you a serious advantage. They just need to get rid of skill based matchmaking and prioritise connection. I have very strong internet, hard wired to my router, in a one of the largest European cities in the world. The major issue for me is I am constantly and consistently playing with Australians and Americans. My router identifies different ip addresses and in a 12 player game at least 4 different continents get represented in the average game.

1 it's pvp and 2 fix the connection
-
I live in New Zealand and rarely get matched with other people from my own country. Only seems to be I get matched with either Europeans or Americans. I literally live on the other side of the world from you people. And have the best available Internet in my country. If you really think me having a green bar is possible then you're crazy. I play trials quite often on red bar. If you think I can help playing against you and killing you so much you feel the need to message me and abuse me then you are a retard.

4 AntwortenJust reading thought this thread i've noticed that 3 things really stand out.. 1. It doesn't matter how much you pay for you internet...if your countries network is shit..well then your gonna have shit service. Now i live in Australia and i pay a fair bit for my internet..i live less than 500 metres from the exchange, but i still do experience red bar from time to time. If our government ever actually pulled their heads outta each others rear ends...then maybe we could get a better service. Just because the US have numerous service suppliers doesn't then give them the rights to dictate to the rest of the world to either fix your service or else....we have paid the same amount of money as the rest..so we shouldn't be banned for something out of our control....maybe Bungie should ring our government and tell them to get a move or else :) 2. What the hell does someones K/D got to do with a person making a comment? I mean seriously when did the world impose a shut your mouth policy based on your K/D. Now i know that your all scrambling to check my account and tell me that "your shit scrub" and " you have no right to comment cause your K/D is shit", but i'll beat you to it... My K/D is shit...not because I have red bar connections or whatever other bullshit excuse that people come up with it's because I generally don't play Crucible...and when I do...well I'm not super serious about it. It's a game people...this isn't really happening. So take a deep breath and calm the f$%^ down. 3. It seems that all out American brothers and sisters are the one that are actually excited that that Bungie is gonna banned red bars. I mean if you guys want to play with yourselves then go ahead, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the world misses out because you can't play nice. Dedicated servers would only really help with people in that region, but it will not actual fix the problem. I mean how much has Bungie/Activison made from all of us as collective? You can't tell me that it's complete the fault of a few that is cause the rest to suffer.. Now I know that I'm gonna get the expected hate messages back, but just remember this. We all play this game because we love it...some a hell of a lot more then others. Just because you have better internet service then someone else doesn't mean you go all ' i'm superior to you' and start calling for people to be banned. Yes I understand that there are the ones that for what ever reason have to manipulate their networks to cheat and win...and yes i have been on the end of that lag switching and swore at my TV until my wife tells me to shut up ;),and yes i have reported those offenders as well. There will always be cheaters and there will always be some sort of network issues that will cause problems..but come on guys...the way forward is not to call for a lynching, but to fix the problem

They implemented the damage referee back in February. SBMM, melee fixes, and the other crap you mentioned bears no weight on their decision to ban red bar players. You got your Internet hardwired, tried to play in a match, and lagged out. Then got your panties in a bunch and came to the forums whining about sh!t that has no bearing on their decision. Shut up meg
When our connection is suffering because everyone in the match is. They will inadvertently ban those who don't deserve it. Bungie is going to do what they want... Whether we you or I agree or disagree.... End of discussion
-
Wi-Fi connections and people with slow internet speeds have nothing to do with latency? Muted for failing IT 101.
-
I don't know if this means anything but I had pretty good internet but I was still getting lag so much that I couldn't play half my games. I just went to the store and bought a wired connection cable. It works perfectly now and I usually don't see any lag at all anymore.

1 AntwortenThe problem we have is player base numbers Y1 plenty of players, we start cruicable and have a large pool of players to pick from all local to each other Y2 player base drops, the pool of players local drops so we now need to go further to find a group. You probably notice when matchmaking it takes a long time compared to y1. So bungie is trying to fix a lack of player base with all sorts of code fixes. When the April update dropped everything ran smooth but slowly dropping off again and the same will happen in September.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von patuca_1999: 5/23/2016 9:53:49 AMOk, hold up. I play in fireteams with people from all around the world. I have pretty good internet and sometimes notice I have a red bar or someone I'm playing with has a red bar while playing PvP. Are you telling me the I could be timed out of PvP by Bungie for this?
